Relaxing, well-supplied, scenic. The backyard is lovely and the deck is set up for dining outside. There is wildlife - especially turkey and deer - but also bears, so that’s a consideration for pets and children.

The Creekside Retreat is a beautiful home just as pictured. The house is roomy, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed those comforts but especially enjoyed the backyard with the stream running through it. We watched wild turkeys and deer come through the yard every day. It was relaxing and made our stay there exta enjoyable. The host was responsive and the check in and out was easy and communicated clearly. We t enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Fabulous property. My family and I would definitely stay there again. The backyard is gorgeous and the creek and garden is lovely. I was worried we might be too far from town, but it was only a quick 15 minute ride and I’m so glad we stayed out of town in this quintessential Colorado location. It was a great home base for rafting, jeep tours, Mesa Verde, and exploring downtown Durango.

This was the perfect spot for a large group and our dogs for a long weekend! Neighbors are friendly and will likely introduce themselves. It would be nice for the property and host to offer at least 2 towels per guest and additional toilet paper as extended stays are possible, and while it is a good price, the basic necessities are rather essential! We are overall very happy with the stay.

We do provide essential starter supplies, and the specific quantities provided are shared with guests prior to arrival so they can plan accordingly, particularly for longer stays. The home is also stocked with plenty of additional towels for guest use, and a washer and dryer are available for laundering towels and linens during extended visits if needed. Beautiful house, amazing backyard! The area is quiet and peaceful. 15-20 mins from downtown. Neighbors were insightful and friendly. I brought my pup on the trip, the only hazard I encountered was the friendly, free roaming neighborhood dogs. To no fault of their own, we didn’t get to enjoy the patio or yard as much as I’d liked. (Sadly, my dog is not good with other dogs.). My head was on a swivel anytime I took her outside. Kitchen was well stocked, the welcome book was great. They made it easy to link the streaming services and automatically logs you out after check out. Check our instructions straight forward. Overall. It was a great place to stay!

3-night stay with family members in peak season July, perfect weather and accommodation, home included all the comforts plus more! Absolute serene setting in the West Animas Valley with fabulous trail access. Highly recommend!

A Slice of Heaven

One of the best VRBO's that we have stayed in. Very clean and well equipped. Very quiet and a beautiful view out to the backyard and the creek. Indeed a slice of heaven. We loved it all!!!

Family Get Away

My family and my sister's family like to get away to the mountains every summer. This year we went to Durango and it didn't disappoint. The house was perfect to have some down time but also a great spot to do dinner in Durango or a day playing at Purgatory. We are already talking about going back next summer!

Gorgeous surrounds!

What this house lacks in modern updates, it more than makes up for with its gorgeous backyard, trails literally out the door, and friendly neighbor dogs! I would definitely come back and stay here again with my family. The check in process was super easy, and the property manager, Kevin, checked in with us a few times.

Great stay

Our family of 6 stayed at this lovely property. The back yard is a nice oasis. We saw wild turkeys, deer, raccoons and a bear. The house was better stocked than the property manager stated. Only issue was that the lockbox didn’t work, however the code worked on the garage door opener. We would stay there again.

Orchard Lane House

The house is beautiful and very comfortable with everything you need. There is a nice yard and small park nearby. The house and yard are dog friendly, and the neighborhood dogs are easy going and like to play. The location is good as well, near PJs Grocery. It is quiet with wild turkeys making their way through on a regular basis! I would definitely stay here again when in Durango.

Wedding

We 6 were in Durango for a wedding. We so enjoyed the house. It was roomy, beautifully decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed. The back deck was our favorite spot. Thank you, Gwynn and Casey for all you did for us. Hopefully, we will return some day. There is much to explore

Cute place

This is just like the pictures show. The backyard is very relaxing, the inside is very spacious. The only thing to keep an eye on is that the switches control the outlets so when you think you are charging your phone you might not be. Its a great place to stay and the neighbors are very friendly.

Very nice property. Located conveniently about 8 miles north of Durango. It’s an easy drive to Durango to eat, shop, or do activities like white water rafting or ziplines. The property is in a quiet little subdivision and backs up directly to a really great hiking trail up the mountain. We took our White Shepherd on this trail multiple times and he loved it. We went a couple miles on this trail. Great views of the valley and mountains. The house itself is set up nicely. The bedrooms are all downstairs and the kitchen and living room are upstairs. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and the other kitchen essentials you need to cook. It cooled down at night when we opened the windows. They provided lots of amenities to get us going like soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. We saw lots of wildlife right out the back windows. There are 3 or 4 turkeys that would come in the AM and PM and be right at the bottom of the deck. We saw some deer and even a bear! The neighbors were mostly friendly and nice. We sat out on the back deck in the afternoon and evening and it was very peaceful. Purgatory ski resort is an easy 30 minute drive up 550. The National Forest is as well. The Durango Hot Springs Spa and Resort is literally 5 minutes from the house. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Durango.

Durango Jewel!

My husband and I came to the Durango area for a vacation and hiking. This house was so perfect! Very comfortable and the location was unbelievable! The pictures don't do it justice. The backyard is a little piece of heaven with 2 streams running through complete with beautiful birds and the occasional family of wild turkeys coming through. Felt very fortunate staying in this lovely house in a perfect setting. House had everything you need, toiletries, paper products, kitchen gadgets and more. Would love to come back!

Family Ski Christmas!

We have been going to Purgatory for Christmas with the kids for seven years. This year my parents were coming in from New York and we needed a larger place. What a great stay! There was a tree up and decorated and lights outside, plenty of room for Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, and two teens. The pups loved the space and the yard to play in. Every detail from the tree to the chocolates on the pillows and even dog bowls made this stay one of the best Christmas’s we have had yet. We will definitely keep this one on our favorites from now on!

Awesome house!

This house is so awesome and the back yard is incredible. The back yard is so beautiful and relaxing. We have young children and with supervision the backyard was great for them to play around. The house is exactly as it looks, and equipped with everything you need. It was very clean and comfy. The bathrooms even have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! I was a little worried that it didn’t have AC, but honestly it cools down enough in the evening that we didn’t even need it. We definitely will stay here again, we didn’t even want to leave!! Thank you for a great place!
