*Tahoe is a beautiful and fun place to visit, but occasionally this area can be affected by extreme weather events. While we never want things like icy roads, road closures, or smoke from wildfires to negatively impact our guests, it can happen. We ask travelers to plan their vacation appropriately for the rural mountain climate and encourage guests to research all travel insurance options, as Tahoe Moon Properties cannot provide refunds for things outside of our control.
Large Deck with BBQ - Less the 15 miles to ski slopes - Short drive to Lake Tahoe Beaches
Agate Family Retreat is the perfect home to enjoy with family and friends. Located in Agate Bay on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Centrally located between Tahoe City and Incline Nevada. It is approximately a 20-minute drive to all the North Shore ski resorts, including Alpine Meadows, Palisades Tahoe, and Northstar, as well as the state-line casinos. In addition, there are many beaches located within minutes of the cabin.
The cabin is an open concept living area with vaulted ceilings, wood beams, a beautiful stone fireplace, plenty of seating for your guests, a well-equipped kitchen, and enough room to sleep 10.
Off the living room is a large sunny quiet deck for hanging out in the sun or having a family friendly snowball fight. A bocce ball court and horseshoe pit can also be found in the yard.
Nestled among the quiet and peaceful trees of Tahoe allows you to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the Lake. A leisurely walk to the lake takes you to breakfast at “The Old Post Office”, a round of Pee Wee Golf or a swim at Dog Beach. A five minute drive takes you to Kings Beach for parasailing, dinner at Lanza's, lunch at Jason's, or Fourth of July Fireworks. Twenty minutes down the road takes you to Tahoe City. Go rafting down the Truckee River, bend over “Fanny Bridge” to check out the trout , walk along the Lakefront path or go shopping at the ”Village.”
You'll need more than a week in Tahoe with its wonderful beaches and recreational opportunities, like hiking, biking, golf, water skiing, winter skiing, kayaking, snowshoeing or even snowmobiling.
There is always something exciting to do in Tahoe or better yet do nothing and just enjoy the peace and quiet.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
-Additional Fees include cleaning fee, administration fee, and local Transient Occupancy Tax.

-Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe.
-Although 80% of our properties are pet-friendly - this is NOT a pet-friendly property. The owners are extremely allergic to pet dander. Please be respectful of this. We do not consider service animals pets. If you bring a dog, you will be subject to a fine and are in breach of contract which could result in being asked to leave the property.
-While this home is not pet friendly, the owner has family with pets that every so often come up to the house. Those with severe pet allergies should be aware.
IMPORTANT:
On March 11th, 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing. Some Highlights include:
•Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound are to be used at any time.
•Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
•Parking is limited to the following number of spaces: 4
*This property has 3 cameras onsite. 1 over the front door, 1 over the back door, and 1 overlooking the Bocce Ball court.*
POLICIES & DISCLOSURES:
1. 2021 Update: Due to Extreme Fire Danger – The use of ANY outdoor firepit or fireplace is strictly prohibited at any of our rental properties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe from wildfires.
2. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9 pm-8 am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
3. By local laws we have to charge a 12% occupancy tax (10% TOT tax + 2% TBID tax) with every booking. TBID is placed on lodging, retail, restaurant, and recreation businesses in North Lake Tahoe to raise money for visitor services, business support and advocacy, economic development, tourism mitigation, and transportation services.
