From the start, communication with the host was bad. They never returned my calls or picked up the phone. Upon arrival, the cabin didn’t look as nice in the pictures. Other than some updates in the bathroom and decor, it’s very outdated (baseboard heating, back door had a slit in it where it’s splintered, old appliances, ect…) The hot tub was extremely murky looking and very dirty with lots of dirt, hair, and styrofoam from the busted cover floating in it. I based my stay on having a hot tub and working fireplace. The host didn’t even text me back till after 5. Maintenance came to put a tablet in the hot tub, but hours later it still did not clear up. I didn’t even get to use the hot tub. Then we noticed the fireplace didn’t work. Once again, maintenance had to come out around 7:30 to try to fix that. He rewired things and it worked while he was there. We turned it off to go to dinner. When we came back, I turned it on. It lit for 30 seconds and went out again. I once again had texted the host multiple times with my disappointment and asking for a refund or a different place to stay. They did not respond. I’m still extremely frustrated and disappointed with this experience. I’ve never stayed anywhere with such a lack of communication or lack of solution. This cabin was not worth over 300 something a night after fees. I will be contacting Vrbo directly to fight for my refund and inform them of the situation since the hosts have refused to get back to me.
