We really wanted to like this place, but our experience was very disappointing. Communication was a struggle from the start. I didn’t receive any check-in details and had to reach out multiple times, often feeling like I was inconveniencing the host for information I had already paid for. Check-in was at 3 PM, but even after messaging at 4 PM, we didn’t get access until around 7 PM. This was especially difficult because we were traveling with a toddler and a baby after an international flight.When we finally entered the apartment, the home did not appear clean. It had a noticeable smell as if it hadn’t been maintained in some time. Every faucet initially ran brownish water, which made us uncomfortable even showering or using the sinks. The freezer had visible mold, and the dryer still had clothes left inside from a previous stay.To make things worse, the air conditioner was not working at all during our time there. Only the fans worked, and in the Dominican Republic heat, the entire apartment was extremely uncomfortable. Since we arrived so late, we didn’t have the option to find another place for the night, which made the situation really stressful.Overall, we were very disappointed and would not stay here again. I’m sharing this so others are aware — I truly hope improvements are made, because the place does have potential, but our experience was not acceptable for the price or listing expectations.
