Dieses kürzlich renovierte, holzgetäfelte Apartment liegt 1,5 km von der Innenstadt von Brattleboro entfernt und verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Küche, eine gemütliche Essecke, einen schönen Kamin, Highspeed-Internetzugang und einen TV. Es befindet sich in ruhiger, waldreicher Lage und doch in der Nähe der Hauptverkehrsstraßen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants und Erholungsmöglichkeiten, Eisbahn in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das Apartment ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und verfügt über ein luxuriöses Kingsize-Bett, ein bequemes Sofa und einen Sessel sowie ein sauberes, frisch renoviertes Badezimmer mit Badewanne.

Wanderwege und der Wald befinden sich direkt hinter dem Haus; Sie können Ihre Wanderschuhe anziehen und sich direkt vom Hinterhof des Hauses auf den Weg machen.

Wir bieten alle Annehmlichkeiten: eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit allem, was Sie für die Zubereitung einer Mahlzeit benötigen. Neben Töpfen und Pfannen sowie sämtlichen Utensilien bieten wir auch Grundnahrungsmittel wie Speiseöl, Gewürze, Kaffee und Tee an.

Zusätzlich zum Standard-Kabelfernsehen handelt es sich beim Fernseher um ein "intelligentes" Gerät, dessen Konten bereits mit Netflix und Hulu verbunden sind.

Während des Sommers haben wir einen schönen Tisch und Stühle, um ein Getränk draußen zu genießen, und einen Weber-Holzkohlegrill. Spazieren Sie durch die wunderschönen Landschaften und Blumenbeete und pflücken Sie frische Petersilie oder Basilikum aus dem Garten direkt vor der Tür. Im Winter ist das Skigebiet Brattleboro (ein kleiner Hügel mit Schlepplift, auf dem Sie für 5 USD Ski fahren können) und die Eisbahn Worthington nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt.

Wir nehmen die Zufriedenheit unserer Gäste sehr ernst und bemühen uns, Ihnen alles zu bieten, was Sie brauchen. Wir wohnen in der Wohnung gleich nebenan. Wenn Sie etwas brauchen, können Sie einfach herumspazieren und an unsere Tür klopfen.

Haustiere sind natürlich immer willkommen! Wir haben einen albernen Hund namens Gracie und zwei verwöhnte Katzen, Pepper und The Dude. Sie alle freuen sich, neue Freunde zu treffen, und Gracie ist immer für eine Verfolgungsjagd im Haus offen!

We only ask that our guests enjoy our property quietly; we live in the apartment next door and there are others living in the building. No smoking in the apartment please. Nice place - great location

The place was nice and cozy, well equipped, and the good supply of wood was plenty to keep the fireplace going the whole time we were there. The king bed was nice and comfy, and Julia and David were very friendly and helpful. The trail access right out the door is great. We enjoyed our stay very much and had a great time in Brattleboro.

Great studio, would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay here with our dog. Julia was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is set up nicely, bed was comfortable. Some items were a bit worn and I had to get down on the floor to turn down the heat and got dusty, but bathroom, bedding, and kitchen were very clean so that was most important. Would stay again!

Wonderful property and stay

I would highly recommend this space to those with dogs. Nice wooded area perfect for a quick hike/wonderful sniffing area for dogs. The owners of the property are very accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable of the area. David made sure I had everything I needed (toiletries, instructions for WiFi, fireplace, etc) and was so accommodating even with my last minute booking. Very easy to get ahold of and communicate with. Will definitely be coming back! :)

Everything you could possibly need in a beautiful place

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here a month for work. Everyday we woke and felt so lucky to be staying in such a beautifully decorated space with every amenity needed to be comfortable for a long term stay. Loved watching the snow from the big front windows and sitting by the fire at night. Our host also lives on the property and was able to help and answer questions as needed and is very friendly and has great suggestions about the area. Can easily walk to Vermont Country deli in the morning for coffee and donuts or giant cookies. The space feels like an extension of the hosts home rather than a place thrown together to rent out by the night. Great experience staying here and cannot recommend enough!

Lovely stay in a wooded setting

Everything about this VRBO stay was great! The hosts are very responsive and welcoming. They have anticipated and provided everything you might need for both short or longer stays. And they have included local information and recommendations that guests would appreciate. The studio apartment itself is charming, with lots of character—nothing cookie-cutter about this place —which is to be expected, as one of the hosts is an artist. A special note about the bed in this VRBO for those travelers who may have a hard time sleeping when away from home: The king size mattress and bedding that the hosts have provided is sublime! An amazing night’s sleep, which is rare for me!

Great location and space

This room is great for a quick weekend stay. I went with my husband and 2 year old daughter, the space of this studio is very large. All the things in previous reviews that people have complained about have been addressed - there is plenty of lighting, bed (is sooo comfy and huge), the TV works, parking is sufficient... the furniture is outdated but who cares? You're not there to sit on the couch all day and it's not your house. Julia was more than accommodating and someone is always around to address any concerns. The location is beyond amazing, you can walk to the Vermont Country Deli and the farmer's market, and it's only a 5 min drive to downtown Brattleboro. It was a great stay and reasonably priced.

The most attractive feature of this place is the price and it is not low enough for what you get. There are no screens on the windows so you can't ventilate the place without inviting the bugs in, the tv doesn't work, internet service is maddenly intermittent, the kitchen furnishings are sparse (no hot pads, no cereal bowls, no dish washing sponge/brush, etc) and equivalent in quality to Goodwill rejects, no soap in bathroom, poor lighting, etc. Surprised it met minimum requirements for vrbo listing.

Thank you for your review of the Studio at Culbertson House, and we are very sorry that the apartment did not meet your expectations. We do feel that a response is in order for future guests to have an accurate idea of the accommodations. The guests were advised of an existing problem with our internet/tv provider; the problems with intermittent service were, unfortunately, out of our control and have been rectified at this time. The TV does, indeed, work just fine. There are hot pads on the shelves above the kitchen sink. There are four bowls of varying sizes, bought new, that we have always thought of as cereal bowls; we have put in two more cereal-sized bowls in the apartment, so that hopefully future guests will find the size bowl that is just right for them. There is a dishwashing sponge in there, in addition to the dishwasher. I'm not sure what the guest means by Goodwill rejects; all the kitchen equipment is either new or in perfectly fine shape for a guest's needs. We will, of course, review all the furnishings in the kitchen and upgrade anything that is less than satisfactory. There was and is soap in the bathroom shelves; as we always stress to our guests, if they cannot find something or if something like soap is missing, we live only steps away in the apartment next door and urge our guests to come by and ask for anything they need, such as an additional lamp or light. We have consistently gotten 4-star reviews for the studio here and most of our guests have been extremely satisfied with the comfort, location, and amenities. We are very sorry that this guest had a less-than-positive experience, and we will be working to fix any problems addressed in their review.

Cozy and comfortable studio

The studio was spacious and comfortable with appealing artwork and furniture. Though we did not use it, I loved that there is a working fireplace. The hosts were very welcoming to my little dog, which is particularly important to me. The booking process was smooth and communication easy. Of course the location speaks for itself....very near downtown Brattleboro as well as the beautiful countryside of Vermont and NH.

Beautiful quiet location. Very short walk to Memorial Park and the farmers market. Spacious and well stocked with all the basics. My dog and I were very happy here...he misses it already!

Perfect spot for a Brattleboro visit!

My wife and I spent a long weekend at the Culbertson House with our greyhound to visit family in the area. The studio is a great location, only a little over a mile into town. It is a large apartment with a comfortable king bed, a large fireplace (with plent of firewood available), and plenty of seating for guests. Julia could not have been nicer, we drove up during a nor’easter, and Julia let us in early. We had a great stay, and will definitely look to stay there again on our next visit.

So so...

Bottom line, you get what you pay for. This was the cheapest place in the Brattleboro area at the time. Several small things need attention now are they will turn into big things later. I fixed a couple of things myself and pointed out problems to the owner. I'm not going to throw anybody under the bus as the place was not horrible. However, I strongly suggest an update of furnishings to bring the place in to the here and now. It reminded me of my Grandma's home in the 70's. The location is great and close to downtown. Caution going up to the house as the road up the hill has some bad potholes.

Great welcome to Vermont!

perfect spot

Julia is great - available if you need her but otherwise very low profile. My one very minor complaint is that the kitchen - large with frig, stove, microwave etc - had only a couple of huge unattractive mugs and bowls. Has there been a problem with theft? Since breakfast is the meal most likely eaten in a b and b, why not provide 4 nice coffee mugs and cereal bowls. Also there wasn't any black tea, usually a given. Otherwise a good deal and would definitely stay there again.

Very Pleasant Stay

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at this cute studio apartment, perfect for two people. Everything was very clean when we arrived. The owner showed us around and was very accommodating. Appliances all worked well. Location is perfect for exploring Brattleboro and all the small towns in that area of Vermont; close to I-91, and just off state Rte 9. Highly recommend this property!

Great value!

The studio/cottage is an attractive and comfortable space. The location is ideal – just a few minutes from downtown Brattleboro and right next to Saturday’s glorious farmer’s market. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans, etc., and the bathroom was fine, though a new mat for the floor wouldn’t be a bad thing to get. There was adequate storage space (drawers, closet), so that we could empty our suitcases – not something to take for granted! And good reading lights on both sides of the bed - a feature missing from many pricey hotels! The garden is beautiful. The Wifi worked well. The August week was unusually hot and humid, but with the window a/c, the space was comfortable. A good fan is also available. Our major reservation has to do with seating for eating – there’s no dining table inside (though there is a glass table just outside the front door), just an island with a counter that is much too high for comfortable eating. Also, the driveway has some remarkable potholes that should be filled. Since it’s shared with another property, this might not be Culbertson’s responsibility, but someone should take care of it. Julia was welcoming and very helpful – directing us, for example, to the perfect swimming hole about five miles away. Ours was a happy stay at Culbertson House.

It is not actually on our property so there's not that much we can do, unfortunately, though we are certainly working on a solution. This property used to belong to the Father of American Contract Bridge, Ely Culbertson. It was his last property where he wrote books about world peace. He was a fascinating person; we'll tell you all about him when you arrive.

We loved the property the minute we saw it, nestled in the woods yet so close to everything in town. We have spent a lot of time lovingly renovating the whole house and building a spectacular flower garden that surrounds the whole property. We have flowers from spring to fall!

The house has advantages of both worlds: being in the forest and the same time not far from everything that the area can offer. It is quiet and private, and located next to the woods where there are extensive hiking trails.

Guest especially love the big stone fireplace! The sofa is right in front of the fireplace, perfect for a cozy evening.

Brattleboro is uniquely situated, right off I-91, only 2 hours from Boston and less than 4 hours from NYC. In the winter it's easy to get to both Mount Snow and Stratton for exciting skiing (not to mention our own little ski hill here in town where you can ski under the lights for only $5!) The area is also blessed by the presence of the Connecticut and West Rivers, providing ample swimming, fishing, and boating in the summer.

We love our little home here in Brattleboro and hope you do too!
