We enjoyed our stay in Sparta, NJ!! The house was very comfortable, the kids loved the games and hot tub! We loved the lake access and spent time taking out boats and enjoying the water. We really liked how close we were to the tomahawk lake water park! Overall great stay worked out great for us.

The house was very accommodating for our stay with family and friends. It was clean and had a lot of games for the whole group to enjoy! Great, quiet location and walking distance to the lake. The owner was helpful and very easy to communicate with. We really enjoyed our stay here!

The property is a fantastic location for a fun weekend getaway with friends. It was clean, cozy, and had great amenities. It was easy to get to but felt secluded. Communication was fast and friendly. I would easily consider coming back again.

Great Family House!

The rental house was just as described in the listing. The host promptly answered any questions we had. The cleanliness of the house was impeccable, and the beds appeared to be brand new and provided a very comfortable night's sleep! The private beach on the lake was perfect for our children as well!

We enjoyed the stay but ....

The house was beautiful,spacious luved the game room. The house was located within short distances to whatever we wanted to do. The only criticism we have is that there wasn't to many cooking utensils we wanted to make breakfast but didn’t have a frying pan etc. Understandabley if your still learning the process of renting your well on your way and good luck in the future.

Great for guys weekend

We got together for my 40th and this house was perfect for gaming and hanging out. Huge TVs for Halo, giant table for boardgames, wonderful deck for hanging out and plenty of beds. The only issue was the smoke detectors went off in the middle of the night! But I don't blame the host for this issue as I've had it happen to me at home

Beautiful home in beautiful area

Lovely home, very spacious and laid out well. Had something for everyone. The kids had fun playing games on the game room, so did we! The lake right up the street is beautiful and lots of fun. Also a water park right around the corner. Literally around the corner. Had some fire pits, a hot tub night, host was very responsive and helpful with everything. Would absolutely stay again.

Mostly great

The place is mostly great but one bedroom has no AC and there should have been a fan in there for my sons' arrival (it was over 90 degrees that day). Additionally, when they went to play ping pong and pool it turned out all the light bulbs but one were out in that room leaving it too dark. So while this house has much to offer, it could use more prep work for the guests. If you want to stay there I'd say to check in with them ahead of time about those issues.

The cabin was indeed cozy. It was clean and we appreciated the wrap around couches that made playing family games convenient. Game rooms and hot tub were nice and well-maintained. However, the cabin is supposed to be air conditioned but one of the room air conditioners in one of the bedrooms was broken and had been taken out of the window. Sleeping was difficult in that room and we had to buy a fan to make it somewhat more tolerable. We told the property manager, and he seemed in no hurry to fix the problem thinking that the other air conditioners would send air into the warm room....they didn't. The other issue was that there were two bathrooms but only one near the bedrooms. So, it was a hike downstairs when we were getting ready for bed. The lake was pleasant and we were able to leave our kayaks there for frequent trips. Note, there are largemouth bass in the lake!!

While the property looked nice and had good amenities, there were many other issues. Upon arrival, the driveway/stairs were not cleaned and were covered in snow/ice, which was unsafe. Getting the cars in/out of the driveway was a struggle and two people slipped on the ice and fell. After calling the property manager about the snow, we were told to shovel and salt the ground ourselves even though it had snowed a day or so before our arrival. We tried to reason with them, but no help or partial refund was offered for this unsafe inconvenience. There was only one shovel in the garage and about one cup of salt left over for us to use on the long driveway and walkway. If I didn’t have my friends with me during my stay, I would have been stranded with no help from the property manager to get in or out of the property. There was also only a single roll of toilet paper in the entire house and no large trash bags, only a roll of small deli bags. We had to leave and buy our own toilet paper and trash bags, which should have been provided for our stay. Finally, the hot tub needed it’s filter changed, but there was no new filter to swap it with. This made us worried that the hot tub was not properly cleaned. Although I enjoyed my stay because my friends were with me, I wanted to make these issues know for anyone looking into staying here during the winter. If I was alone, elderly, or had kids, this place would not have been safe. The owner should have been more helpful and attentive.

Extremely Rude & Inconsiderate Host

Here are the pros: Spacious Clean Well equipped Hot tub (which we didn't use) Cons: 1. Part of the screen door was broken and nearly tripped my elderly father in law 2. TV remote controls were all missing 3. Extremely rude & disrespectful host that made us feel bad for checking out on time but staying outside to take quick family photos. He said he sent a cleaning crew to come in at 11am who we never saw or came and he was threatening to charge us a late fee because supposedly the cleaning crew couldn't come in. He also accused us of having extra guests stay overnight and not communicating with him of two visitors who stopped by briefly for less than an hour to say goodbye to the guests. No where in his rules did he state that he wants all visitors announced. Left with a bad taste in our mouth at the end of our stay for our wedding weekend. Terrible experience.
