Longboat Key is a barrier island just north of Sarasota and just south of Anna Maria Island. The home is located on the north end of the island, in a neighborhood that is colloquially known as The Village. You can walk to the quiet beach, the magnificent bay and several great restaurants/bars. It is a peaceful place to relax yet located near enough to world famous St. Armand’s Circle and downtown Sarasota to the south, or to Coquina Beach and Bradenton Beach to the north, both located on AMI. As you will see from or photos it is a beautiful spot on the planet; perfectly located to enjoy both peace and tranquillity and a bit of Old Florida fun. Although this part of Florida makes for a great escape from the cold winters up north, during the off-season (May-November) is really the most special: The crowds are gone, which means the traffic is light, the beaches are nearly empty and the restaurants are not full. The weather is always warm; yes, hot in the summer, but there is always a cooling breeze on the beach and the sea temperatures are so warm you will never want to get out of the water. And of course the days are longer so you have more time to enjoy the sunshine. Speaking of the sun, wake early and watch it rise over the Sarasota Bay and always catch it setting over the Gulf of Mexico. With so much to offer, you can’t go wrong.
