Steps from beach access! Welcome to `Captains Quarters` at the Gulf Drive Inn - a spacious 1 bedroom/1 bathroom suite with a sleeper sofa, full kitchen and living area. This duplex style bungalow has resort-like amenities with a shared backyard space including a heated saltwater pool, spa and gas grill.
Whether you`re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or simply in need of an extended beachside stay, The Gulf Drive Inn has it all! Inquire for shorter stays

`Captains Quarters` is one of four resort suites at The Gulf Drive Inn. Please inquire to reserve more than one suite for larger parties!

This is a duplex style property with private entrance. The pool/spa and back yard space is shared with the one identical connecting rental.

Code will be sent day of arrival

Welcome book will be in rental with wifi and local information.

For your convenience, the home includes a beach wagon with beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and all bath towels, beach towels, and linens—everything ready for a relaxing stay!

Please note a starter set of toiletries and supplies are left for your arrival. The complimentary starter set includes:
Two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, small hand soap, one paper towel roll, two garbage bags, small dish soap and two pods for the dishwasher. With a Publix grocery store located nearby for anything else desired

Pools are heated October - April at no additional costs. Full disclosure if temperate drop below 60 heaters do not work at full capacity fighting the ambient temp. Below 60 the heaters do not come on until temperatures rise
Please Remember: You are vacationing in a residential area. Please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level. Noise ordinance is in effect 10pm to 7am. Excessive and unreasonable noise can result in disciplinary actions including fines and/or termination of your rental agreement without refund.

Pool and spa were nice although the weather was chilly most of our stay. Location was close to a lot of the things we like to do. I feel the amenities could be upgraded for the price. Bigger coffee pot nicer towels and a few more blankets one for the bed one for the couch. The washer/dryer set up was poor we had to take our clothes somewhere and dry them. And how about some bigger ice trays .. I liked the fact of walking to the beach but the houses were too close for comfort especially with a neighbor with a barking dog.

Hi Kathy! sorry about the renters dog in the house behind this rental. We did call code enforcement for you twice to go talk to them. Also we would have been happy to show you how to use the washer/dryer if you asked. Due to space we have the all in one machine and sometimes can be confusing. We are always here to answer questions :) We leave a quilt and sheets/pillows for the sleeper we could have dropped off extra had we known you needed more. This only sleeps 4 people so we supply for the occupancy of 4. Overall glad you enjoyed and found the location to your liking! we appreciate that!

Awesome location on the island. So convenient to everything (Publix, ice cream, Dollar Tree, Alvins Island, restaurants, Walgreens & CVS..) yet just enough separation (2 blocks) to feel like you are still in a residential area. Easy walk to the beach which was gorgeous and easy to transport the provided beach chairs & umbrella in the provided beach cart. The backyard pool area was also very beautiful, private, partially shaded, and refreshing. Everything looks just like the pictures. The only downside is that it is directly on a busy street, so backing into your parking spot can be a bit tricky. There is a nearby stop light that provide sufficient breaks to support parking and pulling back out without any issues. We were in "B" which is the back part of the house with a direct door outside to the pool area which was very nice. We didn't hear much traffic noise, but "A" side may hear a bit more road noise. The backyard / pool area is shared between "A" and "B" renters, so there is some risk there. We enjoyed meeting new friends and sharing was not an issue at all for us.

This place was awesome! It worked great for my wife and I on our honeymoon! Size was perfect for 2 people. I wouldn’t suggest anymore than that. The biggest issue we had was parking. There was plenty of space but being on the main road, it was very difficult to pull out every time. And with being close to the road comes noise as well. The walk to the beach was easy with the provided beach chairs and cart. Overall we had a great time and would suggest this place to any couple looking to enjoy themselves in the area!

Wonderful Stay!

We had a great stay! The house and pool are both beautiful. Look exactly like the pictures. Very short distance to the beach. close walk to a nice nature preserve and huge shopping center. Communication was quick and easy. We will definitely be back!

Amazing vacation spot !

Very cute and cozy vacation house, freshly remodeled and super clean. Amazing location, steps from the beach, shopping strip and restaurants. Free shuttle throughout the island. Not even mentioning the breathtaking backyard with heated saltwater pool and spa, where we enjoyed our evenings. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful place to stay!

Very well presenting property which looked beautiful both inside and outside. Gorgeous heated pool/spa in the back along with gorgeous landscaping that created a wonderful area to spend a few hours each day. The interior was great with all new Stainless steel appliances, new tile floors, attractive furniture, modern fixtures, just a beautiful place to spend our vacation. Everything was fresh, new, bright and clean. We have been vacationing in Florida for almost 20 years, this was our favorite!!!A communication, very/very clean, walking distance to beaches and shops, very happy!!!

Cute property. Thought we got the entire house but it is split in half. We were in the back half and thankful for that. The backyard is fenced in, but there’s some big gaps around the fencing that small dogs can get out so that was a job to find stones and objects to fill in all those gaps, we weren’t aware that there was gonna be another guest with a dog in the front of the property. Their dog was very nice.Upon arrival, the toilet wouldn’t flush and didn’t have any water in it in the back door wouldn’t stay shut unless you locked it from the inside. Maintenance was there and fixed the toilet and then a day or two later, they fixed the back door so it would stay shut.The pool water was around 72 much too cold to swim in-the heater was not working. We were unable to use the pool Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday finally able to use it on Sunday. That is the whole reason we stayed there was because of the pool. We were without the pool Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday and I’m expecting a refund of 100 per day. 400 total.The pool company came out on three separate occasions and tried their hardest. It was tied into the Wi-Fi at some point that kept going on and off that would not allow the pool heater to stay on.The last pool guy updated the program to the panel that was outdated hanging on the fence and then set it manually -we were not able to get in the pool until Sunday.I’ve never been spoken to-so rudely as Amanda.

Hello Robyn! It would nice if some of this was accurate. Maintenance was there Christmas Eve because the toilet handle was caught in the down position. Simple jiggle fixed that. He also came back the day after Christmas when you said the back door wouldn’t stay shut to adjust that. Which was working fine if you closed tightly. But he was happy to make it better for you! The pool is not heated to 90 degrees as we kept reminding you. The pool company was there 4x during your 8 day stay because of your constant complaints. The temp was adjusted to please your 90 degree request. No wifi needed for the pool. Nothing is outdated. He had to manually adjust to your requested temp because you wouldn’t leave him alone. Pool tech also reached out to management to say you were very rude and seemed to know more than him. You are the first person to have such an issue. The description is very clear this is a duplex with shared backyard/pool space. If you’re able to bring a pet why wouldn’t the other side? So yes there is a possibility that the other half may have a pet as well. This is no secret. I’m not sure if your pups are diggers but we’ve never had any gaps in the fencing. I’ll be sure to check that out. And Im sure Amanda was just reciprocating the kind of treatment she was receiving with all your demands and harassment. We hope you don’t treat other hosts with this same manner. And we hope you feel better after leaving this review.

Clean, well appointed, and roomy for two people. Would have appreciated a dresser in bedroom to store underwear, swimsuits, etc. Also more hooks for hanging towels in bath would have been helpful. Pool and spa nice, but did have issues with heat in both. Tile area around pool needed a good cleaning, rust spots and various dark areas from foliage. Did not like the location but never having been to island was not familiar with where to stay. Way, way too much traffic. Could not even consider renting bikes because of the traffic. Weather just Ok. Been to Sarasota and Siesta Key many times and weather at this time of year seemed to be always warmer and sunny! WaterFront restaurant great!

Thank you for the feed back Margaret! We can definitely add some drawers for putting away clothes and hooks to hang things. During your stay we did have temps drop into the 30’s (not normal for this area) since our pool heaters are electric they can not keep up with that low temp. They were working but it was too much to compete with. It was just unfortunate you were here during that cold spell that I’m sure Siesta and Sarasota experienced as well. As far as location we have lots of guests rent bikes and to access the beach there is no main road to cross. But everyone has their own preference. We appreciate you visiting our little island :)
