Nice little spot tucked along Smith Mt. Lake.

Eight of my close friends and I just recently stayed for two nights at this location with some of the nicest weather we could have asked for. We enjoyed the amount of space on all three levels and the upkeep that has clearly been put into the home. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing, and quiet getaway, this would be the place for you!

The property is very nice, great location and neighborhood. The property is managed by a management company, therefore there were some questions and actual discrepancies between the VRBO description and the actual house. (One example, the number and type of beds)Also, there are newly installed Ring cameras on the outside of the home, one being right next to the hot tub...

Gorgeous Lake House

View was beautiful. Easy check in. Private dock was cool. Very quiet. Basement housed lots of entertainment for the family from pool table and air hockey to board games. Hot tub was super clean. Only piece of feedback, bedrooms are a bit dated.

Thanksgiving 2017

The house was well equipped for our Thanksgiving stay. Really enjoyed the new hot tub. The kids loved hanging in the basement and playing with the air hockey, pool table and of course video games. Our biggest complaint was that we asked 3 weeks before the trip if the house had towels and sheets and nobody got back to us. Very disappointing since we had to buy things once we were there.

I'm glad you found the house to be wonderful, and would hope you would be willing to change your rating to reflect that. The owners have put a lot of time and money into making the home a wonderful getaway. I do see where you emailed us on 8/1 saying you were in receipt of your contract (which you signed and returned). In the contract and email it clearly states "WHAT TO BRING: Sheets, pillow cases, towels, wash and dish cloths, toilet paper, soap, shampoos, paper towels, cleansers, garbage bags, paper products, etc. If you prefer to pack light, linens are available for rental through SMLLakeLinen com or xxx-xxx-xxxx Grocery and ABC shopping is available through An Affair to Remember xxx-xxx-xxxx Then again on 11/12 you emailed from a gmail address inquiring about the bedding to which I replied on 11/13 the following: Subject: FW: Inquiry from Kelly Gregory: Dec 26 through 29 - HomeAway.com #404 Main Level: #1 King | Upper Level: #2 Queen & 1 Twin #3 King | Lower Level: 3 Twins *Queen sleep sofa in rec room| I see that you have sent back the contract, so you should have a copy of this info. Please do make sure you have read it in its entirety so you know the rules and regs. I know it’s a lot to read through, but we want to make sure you have all the info you need. Furnished at the home All units are privately owned and are furnished to the owner’s personal preference. Units are furnished with dishes, cooking utensils, flatware, pots, pans, furniture, pillows, blankets and bedspreads. All units have central air, microwave, dishwasher, washer & dryer, and coffee maker, tvs, dvd player, basic cable, etc unless specified. Nicely decorated Christmas home

We were pleasantly surprised to find the house nicely decorated for Christmas/New year with lights and other items. Wifi, pool table and air-hockey were an awesome addition for kids. Kitchen had everything you need but small cereal bowls. In this cold weather we have really enjoyed the hot-tub. It will be nice to have an extra warm blankets that were missing in some rooms. House was big enough for 4 adults and 4 children with plenty of sleeping options and things to do. Walking trails within the golf course were a plus as well.

Beautiful home in great location

Anchors Aweigh was wonderful for our family's week-long vacation. The home was nicely furnished and the views were great. The boat dock worked well for our boat and we figured out how to tie up 2 additional jet skis for a few days. The kayaks and hot tub were also great hits, as were the multiple outdoor seating areas and the beautiful, large dining table. The downsides were few, but notable. The place was not as clean as we would have expected (we admittedly have high standards), so a couple of us spent an hour or so cleaning when we first arrived. Also, the air hockey table has been abused and could use some attention. The pool table is nice, but in a tight space, so playing takes a bit of creativity. Finally, we were under the impression that the covered boat area would be available to store our boat while we were there. It certainly exists, but there is a boat already there. After re-reading the description more carefully, we realized only the boat house is available for visitors. Our mistake (and easily worked around), but we felt this could be more clearly stated in the description. Overall, we had a wonderful week with friends and family. The home is beautiful. We loved our stay and would come back to Smith Mountain Lake again. Thank you!

Perfect stay

This is a fanastic house. Extremly well appointed and in great shape. Lots of ammenities to meet all needs. Lots of room for family fun and privacy. Many comfort and convenience touches. Communication with the sales staff and owner was fast, professional, and helpful. Strongly recommend this property.

Just as great the 2nd time around

This is our second stay at this home. This time around we brought our parents and they had a blast too. We absolutely love the location of the house, the size, the comfort, the beautiful lake views and all of the amenities. You don't ever need to leave this house if you visit for vacation. There is so much to do here. We've also rented jet skis each year and love the convenience of riding them to the dock and taking a break. The complimentary access to kayaks is also very nice. We love this place and plan to come back annually.

Love this house!

Perfect for a large family. We have 4 couples staying every year to work at the SML wine festival. We always enjoy coming back to the house, grilling steaks and enjoying the lake. This will be our 5th year.

Beautiful spot on quiet cove, house as all you need and very well maintained.

This is an excellent property with beautiful views of the lake. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and kayaks and floats for enjoying the water. The cove is very quiet, wonderful place to unwind.

Not the best for the price.

Yesterday, Monday, 11-30-15 I sent back the survey along with another list of issues with Anchors Aweigh. I sent this to Shannon. This home in "her" day was most likely over the top fabulous. The location was good both by road and water. The home is very, very tired with many, many cosmetic and functional issues both inside and out. I would not recommend Anchor's Aweigh to friends at this time. Way to much work to be done. The home was not my idea of clean. No one had been in that home, obviously, for days prior to our stay. Rock sluffing off fireplace on floor causing a ton of dust and small pieces of rock. No dust pan so I could not sweep. I did vacuum but really? I spent money for cleaning service to have to go on vacation and clean? Clean indeed. The cabinets near sink splattered with food. I hate complaining but this was impressive in a bad way.
