Great Vacation Property

This was our first year doing VRBO for our large family and it was the perfect location. We were able to dock our boat directly out back and golf carts were delivered right to the property. The house is gated and is separated by the guest house and pool. The set up worked perfectly for this trip and we are extremely grateful for the experience and the memories made. Thank you.

Family Fun

My sisters and I have been talking about a family vacation since our mom passed 4 years ago. Their were 17 of us and this house was perfect. The large kitchen/living room was perfect. The house was well equipped with everything. I would recommend renting a golf cart. Beach access is a haul. Vacay 2022 is “in the books”.

My family stayed here in July 2022 before Hurricane Ian struck Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We booked it because it was billed as "Newly Refurbished". We wanted to come back to support the local community as Captiva Island continues to rebuild. The houses were in relatively good shape but could have been better. We had issues with the large sliding doors that would not close properly, which created a big problem the first night because we had a flying ant swarm that got into two of the bedrooms. Your maintenance staff was very responsive and came out the next day and sprayed, with a second technician who came out the following day to make adjustments to the sliders so they would close better. We also had 3 bees nests at the rear of the guest house. Again, your maintenance staff came out quickly to spray but did not have the equipment to fully exterminate them. Little things like the refrigerator light was out and the deli tray cover was missing. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will consider coming back next year.

Doc's Review

The 2 houses pool and expansive property was great. However, we were not told that contractors would be blocking the driveway to replace pavers. The washer and dryer in the guest house did not work when we got there. We got a knock on the door at 7am one morning by delivery personnel with replacements without warning. Not something you want to happen on vacation

Nelson wedding. Nov 8, 2014

Wonderful house and great location. The grounds were lovely and the guests were wowed by the whole event that we hosted there. It rained that afternoon of the wedding and we moved inside with 70 guests and caterers. It was a blast and it worked perfectly. The night before we partied at the pool area with all the same guests. Can't say enough and appreciate the house and Barbara Harrington and the entire staff for making it a memorable event.

Otter Banks - A Slice of Paradise

Our family had the pleasure of staying at the Otter Banks home on Captiva Island this past April. Our vacation began with my daughter's wedding on the grounds of the property. I cannot say enough about the layout, the accommodations and facilities of this property for such an event! The management company catered to our every whim and provided excellent customer service before and especially during our stay there! Any couple looking for an intimate, private setting for their special day should definitely consider this location. The Otter Banks home is a well-maintained, well-appointed property. It has plenty of space to accommodate a large family or group between its main and guest houses. There is also ample parking for all of your guests and vendors. The beach access is convenient and provides a tropical Gulf Coast backdrop for your nuptials. I would highly recommend this property if you are considering a destination wedding on Captiva Island or even a relaxing beach vacation in sunny Florida! Check it out, I promise you will not be disappointed!

Great setup for extended family!

We rented the main and guest house for a 3-generation vacation with 16 people. The bedroom arrangement was great! Having bedrooms on a separate level from the living area allowed little ones some quiet for naps. The pool was awesome! It was so fun to have it all to ourselves and there were lots of pool toys available and plenty of chairs. We had a tough time finding beach access within waking distance as the description stated - and I still think we were using someone's private path - but the beach gear was awesome! Umbrellas, chairs, and wagons to haul it all there! The kitchen had everything we needed and then some! We could not believe the variety of small appliances! We really appreciated that there were lots of large pots and pans to make cooking for a group easy. Plus, there was an extra fridge on the lower level. Everything was clean and very well organized. There were more than enough towels in every bathroom. There was also a stack of pool towels in the laundry room that we did not expect. Too bad we packed our own. The living area was large and open so that we could all hangout together comfortably. The boat dock was fun for our fishermen. And we all enjoyed the deck and lanai. There was ample seating everywhere! I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our vacation because we could all be together in one comfortable house on an island we love!
