New Cozy Cabin on the water at Caddo Lake. Enjoy evenings in the screened in porch after a day out fishing or kayaking. Great fishing right on the property at the waters edge! Kayaking or boating right up to the property. Tie off on our new dock just steps from the cabin. Enjoy s'mores at our fire pit with 6 Adirondack chairs, gorgeous view of the water in the Cypress forest, fireflies, beautiful sounds of the forest birds and lots of Hummingbirds. One room/ one bath with full kitchen. Granite counters and interior covered in beautiful wood. Cold AC/warm heater for winter. Flat screen TV and WIFI. Huge covered/ screened in porch with cafe lighting, two tables with 4 chairs each and futon- all to enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Futon in the screened in porch is queen sized if you like to sleep outside. Inside is a luxury Queen bed and a queen sofa sleeper. Sleeps 4 inside with two outside on porch. Two Kayaks, paddles and life jackets included with cabin.

Excellent host, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Much appreciated!As far as the cabin, we absolutely loved it. Goofy weather (spring in Texas) kept the fish away but the kayaks definitely made up for it. Nice and quiet, but not secluded, so hopping over to Jefferson or the refuge was a short, easy drive.One big bed and a pullout couch was perfect for the three of us, and as others have noted, the huge screened in porch was fantastic. Overall highly recommend the cabin and host. A, well done

Only negative is the body wash canister was empty. The cabin is perfect for two. Loved the large screen porch.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay in the Tackle Box! We loved being near the tributary and a kayak's trip away from the bayou, and loved spending our afternoons reading on the enclosed porch after a day of hiking. Very clean and well appointed kitchen.

You all are welcome back anytime. Come and try the different seasons- Winter: crappie fishing, smores and fire pit. Spring with new vegetation, water lilies, kayaking, sounds of the bayou coming to life and bbq. Summer with kayaking, swimming in the bayou, napping on the queen futon on the screened in porch and fall you have already experienced with the leaves changing color. All are picturesque. We welcome you back every time!

This cabin is quite a gem. Cozy, well equipped and in a great location. We visited in the fall, but I think the full potential is achieved in the summer, with ample outdoor opportunities. We had an overall great experience and will be returning in the future.

We had a wonderful weekemd stay here. The cabin was so clean and nice, the hist was super responsive with questions and the kayaking was amazing. Even in mid July it was comfortable. We will come again!

Clean & Quiet little cabin in the bayou

Cabin and property was very clean and quiet. It was the perfect place for a quiet getaway with the hubby. Host stayed in communication and recommended some local eating spots. Caddo Lake State Park was right down the road and beautiful place to visit.

The cabin was very comfortable and well-furnished. Plenty of hot water and a good shower. The air conditioner worked particularly well. The location was just what we were looking for—on the banks of a slough that connected to Big Cypress Bayou. We were able to put in right by the cabin, but we weren’t bothered by the boat traffic out on the bayou.

Great cabin!

We stayed for a night with our 2 children. The cabin is fully furnished and have everything we needed. The patio is wonderful, we enjoyed having breakfast and diner there with a view on the bayou. Two canoes were available with the house and that was wonderful! We recommend!!

We enjoyed a quiet night sitting by the water and on the covered porch listening to the crickets, night birds and other critters. We were comfortable and short drive from Caddo State Park and Caddo National Wildlife Refuge and enjoyed a swamp tour with a local captain in Uncertain, Texas. It was an interesting and comfy stay on our roadtrip.

Nice convenient place to stay off the main river. Only concern would be getting in there with boat when water level is normal.

Thanks for the 5 Star review! Even in low lake levels boats can get in. It is a bit deceiving. We thought so as well until we saw the pontoon boats going by! Maybe it was the cold front which made things harder but it got quite stuffy and dry inside with the heater running. It might make sense to have a humidifier in there for those rare freezing days. We'd have also preferred having some place to hang the jackets and layers. I do have a feeling it'll be a great place on most days.
