Our family highly recommends this home. It is perfectly situated on the lake. The property is gently slope making walking back and forth from the house to the place easy - no steep hill here! The house was clean and nicely appointed. The kitchen was outfitted nicely with plenty of dishes, cookware, bakeware and drinking glasses. Linens were plentiful for cleanup after a day on the lake and fun in the water. The pier was safe and easy on bare feet wth plenty of room to enjoy the sun, eat a meal, fish or launch your skis. Our group consisted of grands, parents, and a courageous 9 year old. We swam, went jet skiing, tubing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. We brought our own floats and equipment but the owners had many amenities in the closet in the boathouse. The kids enjoyed using the paddle boards - both hard and inflatable. We had a very good time and hope to visit again.

House was clean on the inside but the outside areas were very dirty (covered in pollen) that in my opinion should have been taken care of before our arrival. Pollen was no longer falling at the time of our stay. Spent my first hour at the house using a blower to get some of the pollen and leaves off of the porch so we could sit outside and unwind

Unfortunately, pollen and leaves can accumulate very quickly and are sometimes beyond our control, especially in wooded and lakeside settings. Richard was an excellent host. He contacted us in advance of checkin and let us know what supplies would be included which let me know what I needed to bring (shampoo, body soap, hand soap for all sinks, laundry detergent, and extra TP and paper towels to last 8 people five days). I was very happy with what was included in the kitchen. Plenty of utensils, dishes, serving bowls, etc. Plenty of towels for 8 people. Ants were an issue in the kitchen but Richard had forewarned us to keep food closed up, so we brought totes to put the food in, and kept open bags of snacks and cereal in a sealed tub. We also saw on the local facebook pages that ants were a problem everywhere due to a lot of rain. The bunkbed was in a separate area, not necessarily in what I would call a bedroom but my college aged kids were still more than happy to sleep there because we had such a great time at the property. We brought our own jet skis and could tie them to the dock so we didn’t have to trailer them each day. The location on the lake is excellent for people that like to tube or ski. The cove was protected so we had good water morning and late afternoon. We had a great time and are even booking to return again next year. Thanks Richard!

House is beautiful. We had an issue the owner was very prompt. It would have been nice is there was hand soap in the soap dispenser instead of water and the blanket on the bed was soiled. Not necessary things you think to travel with.

The house was excellent the grounds water access were very good. It was a very enjoyable week even the weather contributes to an enjoyable time on the lake. It was peaceful we seas several bald eagles/ countless geese and ducks flying in and we enjoyed the lake since my Son brought his boat and was able to get around the lake. We would be interested in renting again same time next year, maybe extended stay.

My family and I enjoyed our week’s vacation. The boat ramp was wonderful for launching the kayaks we had hired, and the owners tandem kayak was an added bonus. The beds, pillows and linens were very comfortable.The views from the dock were lovely, and the ability to store drinks in the refrigerator there was good.The house is in a great location to various restaurants. We loved Haggerty’s and The Watersview.

Everything was wonderful. The location and description of the property, was exactly what we expected. My only negative, was that there was cat urine odor, in the home. Nothing a glade candle didn’t take care of.

Great place to stay

Communication with the host before our check in date and during was amazing. The house was clean and equipped with everything we needed from linens to many kitchen utensils and appliances. It was an easy walk down to the dock and the dock was an amazing place to hang out all day and enjoy the lake and my dog loved the easy access to the lake from the boat ramp on the property! Overall great stay great time!

Great location and deep water! Inside of house was very clean and comfortable. Outside deck and dock could have used some cleaning (spider webs and some ants at the dock). A few rotted deck boards and some exposed screws were reported but immediately fixed by the owner).

Beautiful spot on lake gaston. Easy access to water for playing. Outdoor deck had everything we needed for resting and a refrigerator. Loved the swing.
