Charming Charleston Coastal Cottage

Relax in our spacious and peaceful Coastal Cottage. Centrally located, 20 minutes from beaches, downtown Charleston, 15 minutes to airport & 5 minutes from Daniel Island where there are walking trails, restaurants, grocery store, and much more! Guests have access to our dock for fishing, enjoying our epic sunsets, as well as beach chairs/umbrella/cooler. Other amenities include tree swings, board games, & more! In March 2025, a R/O system was installed on the well to resolve the water having sulfur smell. The water is now perfect! allow Up to 2 pets, each less than 50lbs.

We had a wonderful stay while in Charleston for our son’s 10U baseball tournament. Although our team finished as runners-up, we made great memories, and this home was a big part of the experience.The hosts were fantastic—friendly, personable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had everything we needed. Their communication and hospitality were outstanding, and we truly appreciated how welcoming they were throughout our stay.The only reasons I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars are a few comfort-related details. The beds weren’t as comfortable as we had hoped, some of the towels had a slight mildew smell, and with our group, having only one usable shower made mornings a bit challenging. Also, the primary bathroom doesn’t have a door, so it’s worth noting if privacy is important to you.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this home to others looking for a welcoming place to stay in the Charleston area.

Host was responsive, cooperative and friendly. House was clean and check-in was easy.The biggest issue was that the listing was misrepresented. The online pictures made it appear that the pier/dock was visible from the cottage. It was not. There is a yellow house between the cottage and the pier/dock. You have to go through a gate to get to the dock on either side of the yellow house. Additionally, the primary suite bathroom has no privacy because there is no door between the bedroom and bathroom. Please change either the pictures or the description to accurately depict the view. There may be epic sunsets from the dock but you cannot see it unless you walk past the yellow house and walk out on a dock that needs repair.

Thank you so much for your stay and hope you enjoyed the opportunity for an early check-in. Our guests are always welcome to use our dock as well as fish, crab, etc. from it as it is only 100 yds from the cottage. Our dock is safe, stable and has ample lighting for day and night time views. The cottage back porch has a view of the marsh with a sunset view or our guests can always go down to the dock to get the epic view. The master bedroom ensuite bath does not have a separate door, but the bedroom door can be shut to provide ample privacy, including a walk-in closet and separate claw foot tub. Again, thank you for your stay!

Home was clean and neat. We loved the kitchen/dining areas. The porches were also amazing. Listing was accurate but picture and info on access to the dock not quiet clear or what we had expexted. Very pet friendly! We had an amazing stay and our host was fabulous!

As beautiful as the home was, I'm leaving a one star review due to how our stay and experience were impacted by our host. I have been advised by VRBO's customer service to leave an honest review of our stay and our experience with the host. Mid-stay, our host messaged us while we were out to dinner and requested that we pay her an additional fee via Venmo for a 'pet fee'. I felt that that was very odd, to be requested to pay an additional fee outside the platform.After confirming with VRBO's customer service that the host shouldn't be requesting additional payment outside the platform, I let the host know that VRBO themselves advised me not to pay this fee via Venmo. The host got a little snippy with me. We also realized that the host was 'monitoring' us with outdoor cameras that weren't disclosed on the listing. We felt unsafe and worried about the host potentially coming over to the residence and removing our belongings and our two small dogs, even though the listing was advertised as being 'dog-friendly'. Everything about this stay left my husband and I very uncomfortable. I will not book with this host again due to how uncomfortable we became during our stay here which is unfortunate because the home was very nice. VRBO did confirm that it was the host's error of not including the charge for our pets in the total paid amount, anthat I DID disclose we had two dogs. I'm very unimpressed with this entire experience and wouldn’t recommend this residence.

The guest did not disclose that they were bringing pets upon booking. While the cottage is pet friendly, our housekeeping charges us an extra fee when pets are present. This is very clear upon booking. The fee was added through VRBO and the guest refused to pay. The guest also had their medium sized dogs off leash which is against our neighborhood rules and is also for safety of the pets. We were professional throughout the guest stay and even offered an early check-in as well as a late checkout. As for the outdoor cameras, they are clearly disclosed in the listing and are for the safety of our guests and property. The previous guests reviews speak for itself and shows that this is out of the norm. Unfortunately due to refusal to pay the fee and not disclosing pets, this is the only guests since the start that we will not rent to again.
