Unfortunate experience which I immediately responded to once made aware. The week of arrival for Kristin and her family, we had just had the house sprayed for our quarterly pest control and, typically, there can be a dead bug or two laying in the house. Apparently, after a brief call with Kristin's husband, he made me aware of the fact that there was a dead roach in one of the bedrooms which they had flushed in the toilet, but the real issue was the spider webs on the screened in porch (which I explained are very typical this time of year and we often sweep off daily) as she was very afraid of spiders and spent "most of their time on the porch" so they left. He also described an allergy to smells and the air freshener in the hallway was "too much" for them so they decided to leave. Of course, my biggest concern was for this family to have a great last weekend away prior to returning to school the next week and I immediately refunded them as much of the funds I could to help make them whole. Unfortunately, Kristin continued to berate me with further texts and emails and clearly was not happy. We strive to always give the best experience to each of our guests and that is why we have had a 5 star review and Superhost status for three years listing with Airbnb and just achieved Premiere Host status with VRBO in only 4 months of listing on the website. We wish them the best and suggest they continue to stay in a resort style facility in future as she explained they had never stayed in a house before at the beach.
