An amazing beach house. The owner was super responsive and kind, cared deeply about us having a good and safe time at her house. The house was well stocked and clean. The pool was amazing and the location is perfect, a short walk to the beach and plenty of parking near the beach if you don't want to make the seven minute walk from the house. (And a two minute walk to a small grocery store that had everything you forgot to get when you crossed the bridge) The house reminds me of every beach house you stayed in, in the 90s. I mean that is in a quite positive way, the nostalgic is perfect (complete with sega and playstation 2 consoles for the kids).We had a great time and would highly recommend the rental to others.

Awesome stay

We’ve been to the outer banks many times, but this was one of the cleanest, well stocked houses we’ve been in. The pool area was fantastic. Great tiki vibe. Short walk to the beach and easy access too. Everyone had an awesome time.

Great visit

We loved our time at A Pelican's View. The property is well-maintained and in a great location between Duck town center and the beach. The kids had a great time at the pool and we all made good use of the beach accessories, bikes, and other items that are available. The owner was extremely welcoming and communicative through our week's stay. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to make it back sometime!

Great Duck beach house!

We enjoyed our stay at A Pelican’s View, a comfortable and well maintained home just a short walk to the shops in Duck. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, lots of beach gear and beautiful pool! And Yvonne, the owner, was wonderful - she checked in with us before our trip and stayed in touch with us throughout our week, which was especially helpful because tropical storm Idalia passed through the OBX late the week we were there. Great house especially for families with younger children.

Perfect location

This house had everything you could need for a perfect beach vacation ! Walking distance to shops and grocery store. Short drive down to the beach with parking right by the beach access. Loved hanging by the pool all day and playing ping pong and riding bikes. Would definitely recommend staying here! Yvonne was an amazing host!

Amazing week in Duck

The house and pool areas are very clean. The owners provided everything that you could need for cooking, swimming, and having beach fun! Yvonne sent daily messages regarding the rip currents and checked in as needed.

We had a wonderful week at Pelican View! The walkability to town and pool were ideal. We rented a golf cart to get to the beach and are glad we did. You could walk it but with toddlers and beach equipment it was welcome transport. The home was a little dated but clean. Yvonne was the nicest, most welcoming and most communicative host we have ever had in all of our VRBO rentals. We would highly recommend this property.

This home has it all... The beach, the town boardwalk over the sound, shops and a market all within a few minutes walk make this a perfect location. Your private pool with tiki bar, multiple decks and open floor plan provide a relaxing atmosphere for all to relax in. Thanks for an amazing week, we'll be back !!!

Great Beach Getaway

We had a great time staying at A Pelican's View. The pool was amazing, so much better than even the pictures show. The house was so well stocked with pool and beach gear. We loved the proximity to the main road through Duck where all the shops and restaurants are. It's a bit of a walk to the beach but we are walkers and don't mind. And there are always the bikes to get there a bit faster. This house really has everything you need for a great beach getaway.

Great stay!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at Yvonne’s place. The pool was the best! We spent most of our time there and hanging at the tiki bar. Our kids are 5 and 7, so being close to the beach and town was perfect for walking around. Another next feature is the deck with great views of the ocean and sound. Yvonne is also a very gracious host and was so easy to get in touch with. She even quickly mail us an iPad we forgot!

Great Stay in Duck

Our family of five, three boys ages 3-11, thoroughly enjoyed our Outer Banks vacation. The house is extremely clean, very well maintained and had everything you could possibly want for a beach vacation. The pool is fantastic, and our boys loved hanging out there every afternoon. We liked being able to walk to the Duck boardwalk, with its restaurants and shops. We opted to drive to the beach since we were able to park right by the entrance, but you could easily walk if you prefer. We would be happy to stay here again and hope we are able to do so in the future.

House has everything!

Perfect location, fabulous pool and Yvonne was the most responsive host I’ve ever dealt with. House has absolutely everything... you need to just bring your clothes. There is even a permanent baby gate at the top of the steps. We were 2 families (4 adults, a 9y/o and a 19 month old) and had plenty of space. The town of Duck is wonderful and be able to walk everywhere made it so much easier. Beach was beautiful and a short walk down the street. We had a great time and will be returning in the future.

Our family’s experience was outstanding from start to finish! The house is meticulously maintained and has a warm welcoming feeling. The owner went out of her way to welcome us, and make sure any/all needs were met. The location is amazing. The bikes and beach wagons were a huge help. The Jack and Jill bathrooms between the bedrooms worked out just fine for us! Kitchen was incredibly well supplied. The ping pong table, pool and basketball hoop were additional treats! I would highly recommend this property!

Much needed vacation.

The property is wonderful, very clean and very well stocked with all that you need to have a pleasant stay. The owner is very easy to speak to and to get a hold of, she is very responsive. Great Vacation Spot

This is a great property for a relaxing family vacation. The place was spacious, clean, well equipped and had a very nice private pool and outdoor bar area. It is also in a perfect location, with only a short walk to the Duck boardwalk on the Sound or private Atlantic Ocean beach access. It was so conveniently located we rarely used our car. Yvonne was an excellent host and communicated regularly. We hope to return one day soon.

Savor a variety of casual fine dining experiences at unique local restaurants. Catch your own dinner - go fishing in the surf on your own beach, from a fishing pier, or from one of the deep-sea charter boats. Take an ATV outback tour to see the famous mustangs in the Currituck Wild Horse Sanctuary. For the fitness enthusiast, go jogging or bicycling along the Duck roadside path. Sit back and relax while enjoying a sightseeing cruise. Explore one of the nature preserves to view the many species of waterfowl and birds indigenous to the island. Or simply enjoy ocean-side living at your beach house: swimming/playing/sun- bathing in your private pool, sipping a beverage at your poolside Tiki bar, cookouts, picnics, family gatherings, games, sunrises, and sunsets. And there's always the beach for swimming, surfing, strolling, shelling, building sand castles, sunbathing, or bird, dolphin and people watching. Try exciting water sports like jet skiing, kayaking, para-sailing, and surfing. Play golf at one of the six island golf courses (and there's even Putt-Putt for the children). Take a leisurely drive around the island and among the many sights visit four historic lighthouses, the North Carolina Aquarium, the Elizabethan Gardens, and the Elizabeth II, a full-size reproduction of a 16th century sailing ship. Join in the Centennial celebration of the Wright Brothers historic flight by visiting the Wright Brothers National Memorial and special exhibitions. Climb the highest sand dune on the East Coast - Jockey's Ridge State Park - a great place for kite flying and hang gliding. Sample the end-to-end island shopping delights. Discover treasures in charming boutiques, arts and crafts galleries, souvenir shops, or the outlet center. Watch history come to life and experience America's oldest outdoor drama 'The Lost Colony.'
