Come stay at Roosevelt Point and have a memorable vacation with family or friends at this enchanting home situated on the Gulf of Mexico in the Florida Keys. Stunning views can be had throughout the property from inside the home looking out the many windows to an open vista of water or the beautiful tropical garden landscaping. Stepping outside to the end of the pool deck and you will see water to the left and right for more expansive views of the Gulf and ever-changing open skies. The home features a beautiful pool, 18’ x 32’ set in a spacious concrete deck and a separate recessed hot tub that can seat 6. Along the extensive shoreline of boulder and rip rap is 80 ft. of concrete dock with a fish cleaning table and 30-amp shore power. There is a second smaller dock, 20 ft., with 110v power on the northeast shoreline that will afford more protected dockage for smaller boats and a good place to launch kayaks or paddleboards. Kayaks and paddleboards are available to rent through several companies in town and many will deliver. In addition to these waterfront amenities is a waterfront patio with 2 loungers and trees giving shade which is adjacent to the 20’ dock. There is also a set of stairs that run from the pool deck down to the water’s edge to a concrete patio with a concrete and tile round table and benches. The wide ramp you see in some photos and aerials is off limits and not to be used by guests.
The home is beautifully cared for and affords all you will need for a great vacation. The living, dining and kitchen are central, all with water views. The living room has a 66” for evening entertainment after a great day out and about. At the western end of the house, you will find a master bedroom with king bed, TV and patio facing west, a great spot to relax and wait for the sunset. This bedroom also has a private bath with shower and a door leading directly to the pool deck and another through the bath to a small, covered porch with glass walls and sliding glass doors that open to the pool deck and the hot tub location. The second master at this end of the house also has a king bed and a spacious private bath with a walk-in shower.
At the opposite end of the living room is the kitchen, fully equipped with everything you would need for vacation meal planning, granite counters on the wall cabinets and the island giving plenty of surface space for chef’s helpers to assist with preparations. A kitchen breakfast nook has a built-in bench seat, table and 4 chairs, Perfect for a quick snack, a cup of coffee while looking out the bay window, or to simply keep the chef company. The laundry area is adjacent to the kitchen and is where you will find the washer/dryer iron board and iron and bait freezer. A full bath with tub/shower is adjacent and opens to the kitchen as well as the hall.
In the hall from the dining/kitchen area is a lovely built-in wet bar with filtered water and an under-counter ice machine. From there you will find three more bedrooms. The first is spacious with a queen bed and a large wood desk with TV.
The last two bedrooms are mini suites with queen size beds and small but darling baths with showers. One of the two looks out onto a patio in one direction and extensive landscaping in the other for a delightful garden feel. The second of the two has an identical bath and a sliding glass door that opens to a pathway and more garden areas and down to a lovely dock landing with patio lounges.
To finish off the amenities is the detached Game Room. Besides a 65” large screen TV there is a full size pool table, a shuffle board table, poker or card playing table with a bumper pool top option awaiting to entertain.
For boating this home has immediate Gulf of Mexico access, for Ocean access the 7-Mile Bridge is about a 4.5 mile run towards the west and Vaca cut is a little over 3 miles to the east from the house. As a caution to guests, the 80 ft. dock is a great dock but any location on an open shore and exposed dock needs to be respected due to weather changes, winter or summer storms. If strong wind is expected, you will want to prepare with additional bumpers or pull the boat until the weather clears.
If you have a larger boat that would need the shore power at the big dock for running AC or refrigeration systems rather than just batteries, there would be an additional cost depending on the boat.
This home is a “Green” house, secure and safe should there be any power outages during your stay due to back up solar system (unlikely but if it happens you will not have interruption of any of the systems).
The property is fully fenced, and the gate can be left open or closed (self-closing after entry and auto opening from the inside going out).
Located in the heart of Marathon all shops and services, restaurants, grocery stores and Sombrero Beach are within a 4 mile or less drive from the house.
Maximum occupancy of 10 adults and would allow 2 extra if they are kids or babies and are included in the total of 12 for which the home is licensed. A small dog may be considered but only with permission and a $350.00 pet fee.
