Our host, Julice, was very responsive during our entire stay. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in the front door. The cottage was bright, clean, and very nicely appointed. Very comfortable beds! The keurig machine came in handy. We also loved sitting out on the deck to watch the sunset.

Great spot!

We stayed here for our recent vacation to Saint John. The location is perfect and the cottage was clean and just what we needed! We rented a car and had ample parking for our vehicle. It’s a short walk into town.i was very pleased with everything!

Clean, great location, and lots of wildlife- hummingbirds, iguanas, cats, deer, and lemurs. Great view of harbor and close to town. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage!

This was the most adorable cottage!Appliances were very modern and clean, and really appreciated that there were additional things we could use included in the rental (cooler, beach chairs, cooking supplies, etc.). Also, the location was great! We rented a Jeep in order to go to more remote beaches, but were in walking distance from the shops and ferry.Would love to stay here again!

Nice Cottage in Cruz Bay

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage in St. John. It is very clean, walkable distance to the restaurants and supermarket, with great amenities. We absolutely recommend staying here. And big shout out to the host Julice. She is very responsive, nice, and friendly!

Couldn't have been any better

The location was perfect - within walking distance of everything. The place was clean and modern and provided all the items we'd need for our stay. One thing the posting did not mention was the view! Our cottage had a stellar view from the balcony overlooking the town and a little bit of the bay. 10/10 would stay here again and would recommend to family and friends.

St. John Wedding

This place was so wonderful for myself, my fiancé and another couple to stay for our close friends wedding! It is extremely close to everything and walkable from the downtown (if you can handle hills). The balcony has a beautiful view of the water and it was the perfect amount of space inside for us all to have room but still be together! Loved it!

Cruz Bay stay

The property was hard to find but the property manager was quick to send us a video that helped us locate the home. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. It was a very basic home nothing fancy but we loved that it was so close to town to walk (beware half of the walk to town has no sidewalk). We felt safe and the property was very clean. We loved that it had beach chairs and a cooler for the beach. It was nice to sit on the porch every morning drinking coffee with ocean views

Excellent choice!

We had a wonderful 7-night stay at this property in May 2025. It is recently renovated and very comfortable with plenty of space and perfect amenities for hitting the parks and beaches on St John. The balcony view is great and there is a dedicated parking spot for your rental car. The driveway is steep and a little tight, but you learn to maneuver it quickly. There is some road noise and roosters crowing nearby but it did not take anything away. The property manager, Julice, communicated with us throughout our stay as well, which just helped top the whole thing off! Definitely recommend and would stay again!

Lovely house, was a bit hard to find

Overall the house was very lovely and close to Cruz Bay! We loved the beds and the view of the home. When we tried to find the house via Google maps, it was not the right spot. You need to ask your taxi driver to take you to Samuel Cottages. The check-in process was a bit difficult, but we had a helpful tax driver who didn’t leave until we got into the property. Thank you!

Samuel Cottage Getaway

Really enjoyed our 2 bedroom cottage with a partial ocean view! The renovations are well done and the place was very clean. The beds were just right and so comfortable and the Kuerig was a nice touch. The hill wasn’t bad for walking if able bodied and in easy walking shoes. Like being able to walk “to town” and not have to fight Cruz Bay parking in the evenings. WiFi was strong and reliable. Road noise at night was manageable with a noise machine app on our phones! Communication with property manager was easy and any issues we had were handled as quickly as they could. Would stay again especially for a 2 bedroom so close to Cruz Bay!

Comfortable Stay

Very nice property, brand new inside. The bedrooms are large and the beds are comfortable. Three separate AC units made it easy for temperature control. We didn't use the AC in the kitchen/living room area, we just opened the windows. The room is bright and airy with a nice breeze flowing through. The walk is fine up the hill we stopped at Dolphin Market on our way home each day. However there was plenty of traffic on the road (Christmas week). We were careful to stick to the side of the road.

Best bang for the buck!

Stayed here with my brother and both our boys, for a guys trip. This place had 4 beach chairs, 4 big comfy beach towels and a cooler. That was just what we needed. The kitchen was small, but clean and organized. Each room has its own remote to set the temperature which cooled it very well. The remote was hidden behind the curtain mounted on the wall.Walk into town, be careful to look for cars. Next door has a rundown house, but the people were friendly.Found a few board games that we could play in a cabinet. TV’s in each room were great.I would absolutely stay there again, when I bring my wife back.

Beautiful location with views of Cruz bay!

Samuel cottage A/#1 was the perfect two bedroom with full kitchen! My sister and I stayed here and had a wonderful time. There is parking at this location but we didn't rent a car, we walked or took the air taxis. The walk up the hill to Samuel cottages is steep but we had the big backpacker bags instead of roller suitcases so it wasn't bad at all. The dolphin market is also walking distance halfway up the hill which makes for a perfect grocery stop before making the final trek. The views off the porch were amazing, the apartment was clean, cozy and cool. We would stay again and recommend this location to others! Thank you so much!

My wife and I have used VRBO multiple times in and out of the U.S. so we do see a lot of different things that make a property successful.What we appreciate and I think we speak for most vacationers is cleanliness in the property, Samuel Cottage was very clean. The location is absolutely perfect . We did have a jeep which I would highly recommend to anyone staying for an extended time in St.John . Some of the reviews mentioned walking to the restaurant’s and bars in Cruz Bay from the property and it is close by but I would definitely say it’s dangerous ,can it be done? Absolutely but be forewarned the shoulder is almost nonexistent . During the day the road is very busy and it has a bit of a grade . Nighttime brings another element. Overall the cottage has what you will need to make your trip successful however this cottage has bare minimum in regards to cooking a meal. It’s a two bedroom and it has four coffee cups , three glasses etc
 it has a toaster oven that really is kinda of useless for toast no traditional toaster. A small coffee pot , however it does have a kerig machine. Also no dishwasher and no washer and dryer. I only mention this for your planning because overall I wouldn’t hesitate to rent this property again. The property does provide four beach chairs and beach towels and also a very nice igloo cooler. The landscaping is really nice and the deck out back with table and chairs has a really nice view of the water and hillside .
