The Zanzibar Beach House is situated on a quiet beach 5 minutes from the popular Paje Beach, which is just far enough away from the tourist crowds to give you the peace and serenity that you came to the island for, but close enough to experience it at your leisure. Wake up to the tranquility of the sun rising over the horizon and the sound of the ocean waves washing up on the shore just outside your door. Have breakfast on your deck that overlooks the ocean. Then step out of your beach house and let your bare feet sink into the soft white sand and run along the beach on your way to experiencing the island of Zanzibar.
Description: The Zanzibar Beach House is, undoubtedly, the most unique place to stay on the entire island of Zanzibar. The Zanzibar Beach House is a collection of three mini villas, and although may it not be easy to visualize at first, each of the three mini-villas was made from an actual 40-foot shipping container. The exterior of these mini-villas are cladded in white marble porcelain tile, fitted with glass windows and glass doors all around. Each air conditioned mini-villa has one-bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and living/dining area. Each mini villa also has a beach-front deck/balcony that overlooks the beach and ocean, and comfortable wicker chairs, table, and sun umbrella to sit and enjoy the view. The three beach houses surround a private white sand courtyard complete with coconut trees, small beach deck, sun bathing chairs, and beach umbrellas. The entire beach-front court yard is private to our guests only, and kept well-lit with lights in the evenings so you can enjoy the sea breeze at night or the sounds of the ocean waves as the tide comes in under the stars.

Bedroom: Each mini-villa has one cozy air conditioned bedroom with a beautiful brown wooden framed bed and a large matching wooden wardrobe for all of your clothes and belongings, both were hand-crafted by local Zanzibari woodwork artisans. Beautiful paintings authentically created by local Zanzibari artists adorn the walls. The windows give glimpses of the ocean and views of the courtyard and surrounding coconut tree-filled landscape.

Kitchen: The open kitchen area has a glass-top stove, kitchen sink, microwave oven, coffee maker, small refrigerator, ample cabinet space for food storage, and enough dishes and kitchen utensils to cook and prepare your own meals. The kitchen window has a view of the surrounding coconut tree-filled landscape and glimpses of the Indian ocean.

Bathroom: The bathroom has shower with wall-mounted and hand-held shower head, glass shower stall partition, bathroom sink with ample storage cabinet drawer space, large mirror, and large bathroom medicine cabinet. There is also a hair dryer available in the cabinet. Although the bathroom window glass has been frosted for privacy, it can be opened to allow the breeze from the surrounding coconut tree-filled landscape in.

Living/dining area: The living/dining area has a comfortable sofa that was made by local Zanzibari craftsmen, large screen television that is equipped with Netflix and other streaming media apps, Large ceiling fan, electric fireplace, high table with high chairs for eating or working on laptop, and spectacular view of the beach and ocean through large sliding glass double patio doors. The walls throughout each beach house are adorned with authentic paintings from local Zanzibari artists, and the windows have views of the courtyard, the surrounding coconut tree-filled landscape and glimpses of the ocean just outside.

Outside Deck: Each mini villa has a wooden deck that opens from either the large glass sliding door in the living room or the standard door in the kitchen. The deck overlooks the ocean and beach, is partially shaded by coconut palm trees, and also wraps around the villa to overlook the entire courtyard. The deck has a table for two for outside dining, and an additional couple of deck chairs for those who want to sit and enjoy the view.


The Zanzibar Beach House is easily accessible and centrally located in Bweju, 5 minutes from the popular tourist destination of Paje Beach, which means it is just far enough away from the tourist crowds to give you the peace and serenity that you came to the island for, but close enough to experience the excitement at your leisure. The Zanzibar Beach House is equipped with high speed fiber-optic wifi internet that is accessible in all areas of the property. There are video security cameras throughout the exterior of the property. Each beach house is equipped with a smart door lock which allows guests to access the beach house via E-key pass code or physical door key that they will receive.
