Built in 1937, Villa Verde is a classic Spanish-style estate, recently remodeled with a colorful Palm Springs-inspired aesthetic. It grants you all the modern amenities you desire, while staying faithful to this magnificent property’s art deco era.
Offering 5 luxurious bedrooms with en-suites, the home is situated within its own private 3/4 acre grounds, and is rumored to have been the regular retreat for Hollywood legend Bette Davis, whose picture graces the bar in homage to this famous guest.
Enter through the tall iron gates and high manicured hedge of Villa Verde, and you’ll be immediately immersed in the classic Hollywood style of this estate and its impressively sized front yard, complete with its own pergola. As you head towards the bright green front door and enter, the drama builds with the entrance introducing you to the majesty of a bygone era, cleverly updated with a timeless Palm Springs twist.
Here you’ll find the elegant deco-style “Bette’s Bar”, a walk-in bar that pays tribute to the aforementioned guest Bette Davis. Pull up a stool, enjoy a welcome drink, or simply lounge around, and play a game or two of pool on the green felt table, or listen to music on the old school record player that also works via bluetooth to stream your favorite playlists.
As you pass the bar you will enter the fully-stocked Spanish-style kitchen, featuring double sink, large stainless steel fridge, coffee station with both drip and espresso coffee makers, plus electric kettle for the tea drinker. The adjacent breakfast nook provides seating for six in the morning, or somewhere else to wait for your shot on the pool table at night. There’s also a very bright and fun guest powder room just off the kitchen as well.
Beyond the kitchen, the light-filled lounge and dining areas open up to magnificent views through to the covered patio via the multiple floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors. The large and comfortable L-shaped sofa and swivel chairs can accommodate everyone who wants to take in what’s playing on the giant flat-screen TV. The adjacent traditional-style dining area provides an extendable table and luxurious yellow velvet seating for ten, so start planning that sophisticated Spanish dinner party!
Outside in the courtyard, you’ll find a comfortable conversation area, an outdoor kitchen complete with fridge, grill and stool seating, plus additional outdoor dining for twelve. This is all placed around the ornate fountain that has been transformed into a desert-inspired colorful succulent planter.
Beyond the patio, the luxury and tranquility continues… To the right is the koi pond with waterfall, complete with 10 large koi fish of multiple hues. To the left you’ll find the citrus grove and the Casita, which has a bathroom, kitchenette and queen bed, as well as a private patio where you'll find a table tennis ready for playing.
Further on is the giant chess set, just near the entrance to the 1930s-style fully-tiled and heated swimming pool. With its classic black and white pattern, paired with the green and white striped awnings and cabana, it will transport you back to the the elegance and luxury of yesteryear and old Hollywood.
Ample sun lounges and shade umbrellas add to the ambience, and provide a perfect place to work on that desert tan. Meanwhile, the striped cabana at the far end of the pool provides shade for the hot tub as well as additional table seating near the neon sign that’s perfect to capture that photo worthy moment.
Around the pool is also where you’ll find the gazebo with its tropical flavor. It grants more covered seating with its comfortable lounges, set around the gas firepit for those chillier desert nights.
The extensive back yard with its magnificent mountain views and brand new 50ft bocce court provides plenty of space for lawn games like corn hole and badminton while a gym room complete with equipment means you don’t have to miss a work out!
Meanwhile, for accommodations, Villa Verde gives you five suites to choose from, each with direct bathroom access. All rooms have a closet, dresser, TV, shutters and easily accessible charging ports on each side table. Provided in each bathroom are towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair dryer, makeup towels and makeup wipes, everything you'll need so you can pack a little lighter and feel at home. Each room was thoughtfully designed to compliment the Spanish style of the home and incorporate that Old Hollywood/Palm Springs style while not sacrificing on comfort.

Guests will be able to access the entire house and property. There will be no one else on site.
My husband and myself will be available through the app and by phone throughout your entire stay.
We also have a local person who will be available through out your stay to answer questions or come to the property and help fix any issues if they come up. He will also meet you and your group after you have arrived, when it is most convenient, to go over the city rules and show you a few things at the property.
Parking: There is a large driveway on the property. Per the City of Palm Springs rules only one car per bedroom is allowed to park on the property.
5 cars max are allowed to park at the property and in the driveway.
PLEASE NOTE: Number of Guests (12) must Include 2 children aged 12 or younger, otherwise the Max Number of Guests is (10). This is dictated by the Rules and Regulations governing short term vacation rentals in the City of Palm Springs. We have 2 Twin rollaway beds available for additional guests.
There is no parking on the street by the property, but there is street parking nearby for any additional vehicles beyond the allowed 5. Our greeter can point out those locations when he meets with you upon arrival.
Total Daytime Occupancy is 14. Daytime Occupancy is between 10am and 10pm, as required by the City of Palm Springs.

1.1 COVID 19 CLEANING STANDARDS
We have sanitized and cleaned the home, linens, and spa prior to your arrival. We will also leave sanitizing products for you to use. Please do not come if you are feeling ill or suspect you could be sick. Let us know and we will try to reschedule your visit.
1.2 AGE LIMITS FOR BOOKING
Primary renter/guest must be 25 years of age or older. Primary renter/guest is defined as the person reserving and paying for the rental fees and is responsible for all guests staying at the property during their stay and must themselves be present at the property with the other guests. The primary renter/guest is financially responsible for any damages done to the home. Please make sure to look around after you check-in to make sure there is no obvious damage and notify us if you see anything out of the ordinary.
1.3 GOOD NEIGHBOR LAWS – CITY OF PALM SPRINGS
All guests must comply with the County of Riverside transient rental rules and restrictions. A Good Neighbor “brochure” will be provided to all guests and is also posted inside the home for your reference (see also link below). It is the responsibility of the primary renter/guest to ensure that all guests on your reservation are familiar with and obey the city’s good neighbor laws. All rules, including but not limited to, nuisance and noise restrictions, quiet hours, maximum occupancy (10 guests + 2 Children Under 12yrs old), parking (5 Cars Max), trash, etc., are strictly enforced by the city and county. The primary renter/guest will be responsible for any citations and fines resulting from violations. Complaints and violations may result in immediate eviction without refund to the guest.
We can provide a copy of the brochure once you have booked or you can find it on the City of Palm Springs website.
1.4 SOUND ORDINANCE (Refer further to the Good Neighbor Brochure linked above)
**STRICTLY ENFORCED BY THE CITY** The city does not allow outdoor music, and indoor music is not allowed to be audible at the property line. Neighboring residents have a 24hr HOTLINE available to them, to complain about noise, and the city will respond (usually resulting in fines to the guests). In addition, Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am (County Ordinance No 927). There should be no loud voices outside after 10pm, so gatherings after 10pm should remain inside the house.

This is a newly remodeled home has a lot of character and is situated on a large property only 5 minutes from downtown Palm Springs. It's a very relaxing area with lots of large trees for shade and soothing sounds of the Koi Pond waterfall. We have a citrus grove and when the fruit is ripe you are welcome to pick some to use in your cocktails or to make some fresh lemonade or orange juice.
We offer plenty of games so you can mix up your relaxation with some fun activities. With a Pool Table, Ping Pong, Corn hole, Ladder ball, Giant Chess and Cards there's plenty to keep you occupied when you are ready for some action. In the future we plan to add a 60ft bocce court on the side of the house so brush up on your game play.
It's a beautiful place where you have everything you need.
