Escape to a bright 1-bed/2-bath hilltop contemporary with sweeping lake views -- the perfect retreat! Stroll down to the bay on this beautiful lake, then return to relax on the private deck or in the media corner with its fireplace. You may spy bald eagles or shooting stars, hear loons and barred owls, or watch a summer balloon launch from our field. Nearby: Bike the dramatic Lake Causeway, try Wally's Bagels or Blue Paddle Bistro, check Granny's Attic, sip wines at Snow Farm Vineyard. An hour to bustling Montreal or snowy Stowe, half hour to charming Burlington. A past state tourism brochure calls this hill's vista "beckoning country." NOTE: Quiet housekeeper on first floor rear has separate entrance & suite; guests enjoy the roomy second floor. Nearest laundromat is 25-minute drive. No outdoor grilling, for fire safety; no pets. Nice cookware, nothing funky. All photos were taken at the property (except the paddle-boarder). Have you ever tried a Maple Creemee? And ask about our picturesque Quebec retreat (for up to 12).

Gorgeous views of the lake from a beautiful great room! Bed was comfy, kitchen fully equipped, and check in procedures were very clear! We loved exploring Vermont from the island. I can’t stress enough the stunning views in floor to ceiling windows facing the lake! We spent hours enjoying the views!!

The home was exactly as listed- photos do not do it justice. Just a very lovely, spacious and comfy place for us to base out of as we travelled to Stowe, Burlington and St. Albans and took in the spectacular foliage, road tripping thru the Vermont countryside. The view was enchanting. Night skies just phenomenal over Lake Champlain, especially from the deck. Loved every minute, would return in a heartbeat!

What a perfect place for our vacation! The house faces east, and every morning as I walked from the bedroom and turned the corner, I was greeted by a beautiful view. Some mornings the orange sunrise warmed the whole space, and other days the white of fog gave the room a peaceful muted tone. If you are an early riser, this is the place for you. The mountains layered in curves above the water change as the light changes. It's a beautiful place to spend a week away.

Peter’s place was great! Beautiful views of Lake Champlain. Was a great outpost from which to enjoy time in nearby Burlington and day hiking in the Green Mountains.

Amazing Retreat

My husband and I loved this property. So comfortable and such amazing views. Great retreat. Our daughter joined us to relax and have dinner. We will be back.Peter was an amazing host. He was kind and helpful. I almost forgot that we lost power for a couple hours (along with 200 other people in South Hero). We will be back.

Gorgeous location!

The house is beautiful in an idyllic setting! There isn't much to do in the area but the setting and peaceful surroundings were perfect for our weekend getaway! Two Heroes Brewery was perfect for a relaxing afternoon. We also indulged in the huge portions of ice cream at Seb's - yum! Peter, the host, was super responsive to our needs. Hero Island stay

We had an incredible time on Hero Island. The location was great and easy to make trips into the Adirondacks, Stowe and Montreal while we were there. The owner was fantastic and kept an open line of communication. The property was just like the pictures! Would I stay there again......YES!

Wonderful place to stay

The home is clean and modern with an open plan, amazing artwork and lots of windows with amazing views to the bay and Green Mountains. We biked the causeway and visited Montreal and Burlington. I highly recommend this rental.

STARRY RIDGE Retreat, with its wide panorama, sits in great proximity to Montreal, Burlington, and Stowe while being tranquil and private. Our 2018-built contemporary home is unfancy but comfortable. We had this property on another rental platform briefly and received all five-stars. You might behold a big balloon launch in our field which unpredictably happens a few times each summer. Take advantage of picturesque 435-square-mile Lake Champlain, its swimming and boating and area biking. We hope you enjoy your visit and don't hesitate to contact us about anything.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: You will be using half the first floor and all the second floor; the third floor, with much less window span, is vacant and closed off. A quiet housekeeper lives in the back half of the first floor with a separate entrance and separate suite. The front doorbell camera is not working. We don't provide an outdoor grill because grease and hot coals damaged a deck at another property, and because of possible fire hazard. All room doors are 36" wide, and the front entrance has no steps.... Lake Champlain is America's next largest lake after the Great Lakes. Two local restaurants not to be missed, for their good food and lovely settings, are part of "Shore Acres" in North Hero.
