The Space:

Stay in the Dover Bay Resort at this fully appointed Parkside Bungalow, playfully named Goose On The Roof.



This 2-story home has been tastefully furnished throughout its 1,300sqft, featuring 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.  The main level includes the kitchen, dining and living areas, two bedrooms and a full bathroom, and a washer and dryer.  Each of these bedrooms has a custom Queen bed made by local craftsmen, and tasteful artwork showcasing the beauty of North Idaho.  The primary bedroom is located upstairs and features a King bed and en suite full bathroom.



Outside, kick back and relax on the covered front deck, perfectly positioned overlooking Brown's Inlet, where you can launch your kayaks and stand-up paddle boards and take the short trip out to the iconic Pend Oreille River (late spring to late September). This home also has its own private hot tub on the outside patio overlooking the river. The green-space surrounding this home provides room to run, and is ideal for families with kids and pets - Goose On The Roof is pet friendly!  A $125 pet fee is required, just let us know your bringing a dog.



Dover Bay Resort offers 9 miles of year-long maintained paths and trails, marina, DISH restaurant, and convenience store. Balto Park is pet friendly and offers a gorgeous beach and swimming area, along with a small playground and restrooms.



Note:  Lake Club Fitness is privately owned and is not open to short-term rental guests.

We love staying in this little community in Dover. We come at least once a year to see family and friends and always stay here. This house is by far our favorite. Will be booking for next year. We had a great stay, everything as advertised and very clean. Great view from the porch and we enjoyed the hot tub very much. I agree with other guests that the cooking pans need to be replaced as they are very difficult to clean and more hooks for towels in the upstairs bathroom. Will definitely come back again!

Great house and location. Lots to do. Weather wasn't the best but we had fun exploring Dover Bay, including all the trails and restaurant, and just a quick drive to Sandpoint. Hot tub was enjoyed by all. Definitely will be back. Next time we will make sure to bring kayaks and SUPs.

Great place to stay while in Sandpoint area

We had a lovely time at this vacation rental. The hot tub on the deck is a major plus, but the views from the property are a close second. The house is very comfortable, and well laid out. Communication was stellar, kitchen fully stocked, and rooms/beds comfy. I hope to stay here again!

Great stay close to Sandpoint!

We had a great stay at the property for a ski trip to Schweitzer and Sandpoint area with family. The property had all the necessities for our stay and the location was excellent. THe3 addition of the hot tub was so nice as well and everyone enjoyed it. We will be back for sure on our next trip to the area!

This was such a lovely property! Beautiful view, nice and quiet neighborhood. Just as everyone else said, the hot tub was lovely and so clean! The kitchen amenities were all great to have. It made it easy to make our meals at home. The two queen beds are a firm memory foam mattress, I'd advise bringing your own pillow if you don't like firm "overstuffed" foam pillows. Overall, we would certainly stay here again!

Amazing Relaxing stay in an incredible spot

This stay ended up being far more than we ever expected. The house is well stocked, clean, and the deck is great! The deck is fenced which means the dogs can stay out there with you while you are relaxing or in the hot tub overlooking the inlet. We walked around on a lovely scenic walkway, fished from the backyard, putting kayaks from the yard, swam in the beach a short walk away and never left the property. If you bring the food and gear there is no reason to leave.

Relaxing Ski Trip

We loved our stay at Goose On Roof. It provided a great base for for our ski trip. Only 15 minutes drive from the shuttle bus to Schweitzer. Located in Dover, with its network of walking trails and parks. Our dog loved the walking. The house has a lovely kitchen, comfortable living room and good beds on which to crash after a long day skiing. We had sunny weather, so sitting on the deck for sunset cocktails was very relaxing. The view out the main windows and from the deck is lovely, snow covered mountains across a wide marsh with lots of waterfowl and other interesting birdlife. We want to come back again.

Lovely waterfront getaway

Rental was in great condition. Hot tub was sparkling clean! Also king bed upstairs was probably the nicest one we’ve ever stayed in for a rental. Could have slept all morning if the dog wasn’t waking up to go sniff out geese, ha! Watershed was low for this time of year, I hadn’t realized it would be that low but we still enjoyed the paved walkways all over Dover bay. The whole neighborhood was clean and well kept. Saw deer, eagles, moose, woodpeckers, geese etc on our explorations in the bay and loved the close proximity to Sandpoint while still feeling out of the main drag.

The property was very clean, the location was beautiful. The rooms and beds were comfortable and the hot tub was immaculate. It was a nice quiet neighborhood with a restaurant close by with delicious food. The walking path was nice and we saw some wildlife. So convenient to be only 3 miles to Sandpoint. There are a few recommendations for improvement that include: 1) needs lawn chairs. There were two deck chairs. If 6 people stayed, there would be no chairs for 4 people. 2) A shade for the deck would be nice as the sun shines directly into the deck opening which makes it hot in the evening. 3) Needs new non-stick cookware. 4) I suggest moving the TV lower as I felt we were having to look up to watch the TV and it hurt my neck. Either that or replace the sofa chair as it is very close to the ground. Overall, this property is excellent and we would stay again. Thank you!

A Lovely Stay

We had a lovely 2 week stay at this beautiful Dover Bay location. Views from the porch were magnificent and closeness to the inlet made paddle boarding so easy! The beds were extremely comfortable and the hot tub was divine. It was so thoughtful to receive a welcome basket w goodies for both our whole family and our solver lab Willow. Some gentle suggestions and ideas for improvements: furniture and seating layout could be switched out to provide better comfort and better viewing of the tv. The dishwasher could also be upgraded for it didn’t ever dry any dishes which proved challenging. Also the entree dishes were too big and hit the spinning device impeding its function. We hand washed those dishes thinking that would solve the drying issue but it didn’t. Perhaps maintenance is all it needs? For a two week stay, more toilet paper and paper towels could be provided as well as better laundry detergent. We didn’t have access to the garage which was disappointing and I’m unsure if this was specified beforehand? It would have been nice to use as we had bikes, etc. we could have kept in their as well as our cars. Lastly, hooks in the restrooms would be helpful. All together it was a great place to stay and we loved the space despite these small suggestions. I hope we can stay here again!
