Downstairs floor (1100 sq ft) of mid-century home in Oaklands Hills. Full kitchen for snacks or gourmet meals, comfy queen bed in bedroom, sofa bed in living room. Enjoy picturesque walk to Montclair Village or hike or bike right up the hill. Drive 11 minutes to BART, located in Rockridge, which also has trendy restaurants and shops to explore.

This was such a beautiful property. The host was clear with the check-in instructions and had resources for everything, from how the coffee maker worked to all the cool local spots to check out.My wife and I stayed here the morning of our wedding, and the host had approved our photographer to come and take ‘getting ready’ pictures of us, which was a huge bonus! The pics turned out stunning, by the way. I absolutely loved staying here and would 1000% stay here again!

We had a lovely get away in the city, for those who have bad allergies and asthma is easily triggered be cautious with the stairs, it was a good little workout, otherwise the property was calm and cozy made us want to see if they were leasing, 10/10 would do again!

Spring here is similar to spring everywhere, hills are very green with wildflowers sprinkled among the grass and weeds. A few trees and bushes in bloom, lovely time of the year. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Janet was very welcoming and provided clear instructions for our stay. The house was beautiful and very well kept. The view from the patio was gorgeous, and a very lovely spot to have morning coffee. I highly recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again next time I visit.

Great view, living up among the trees. Well maintained and clean quarters. Nice touches with convenient lighting and decor and a helpful printout of local recommendations. Loved the utility room adjacent to the bathroom (a clothing rack with hangers would complete it). The hairpin drive is a bit of an initiation but I can’t wait to come back! Fantastic host.

A gorgeous space with a kind, and communicative host.We had such a lovely trip and loved this space. Our personal highlights of this space:- a clean and comfortable space up in the Oakland hills.- a beautiful view, with coffee and bird watching on the porch in the morning.- a shower with couples showerheads for ultimate vacation relaxation.- the wood burning fireplace for chillier nights, and falling asleep in the living room to the crackle of the fire.- having friends over for dinner in a really relaxed and comfortable space.Additional comments:- more blankets would not go amis, as we brought our own a heated blanket. It did get chilly.-binoculars to get a closer look at the many bird species you can see off the deck.-the parking is tight. Not ideal for a large vehicle unless you intend to park on the street.Overall, Janet was very clear and helpful. We had absolutely no issues renting here and would do so again.

Happy to hear you were able to enjoy so may of the features the suite and location have to offer, you’re welcome back any time. The queen bed and sofa each have down comforters and and extra blanket. There is also a 3rd extra blanket in the bedroom closet but no heated blankets. I am always happy to park in the street if you have a larger vehicle and thanks for the suggestion about binoculars, new ones should be arriving soon.

In real life, the property looked just like the photos. It is a spacious, tastefully furnished and well-appointed one-bedroom apartment with a spectacular balcony and stunning canyon views to match. My husband and I were very comfortable there. The unit is very quiet and private. Just to note, there are 33 steps down to the unit but it is well-lit. The property is up a steep road with three hairpin bends but if you're comfortable with heights, it's totally worth the effort. On a couple of evenings as we drove back we even saw a deer at the side of the road! The host kindly advised us of an upcoming power outage in the area due to the trimming of tree branches which were entangled in power lines. It was so helpful to know this in advance. She responded in a timely manner whenever we reached out to her with small questions. There is a nice desk that we used several times for work purposes and there was good complimentary wifi available. The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped and there was a nice breakfast table with a vase of fresh cut flowers - a lovely touch!We thought the bed was likely a full rather than a queen size but it was very comfortable nevertheless (we're both over 6 ft tall!)A few minutes drive down the hill takes you to a charming small shopping area called Montclair with delightful cafes and boutique stores. The local Safeway is open daily until midnight!All in all, an excellent experience in a beautiful rustic setting.

We were truly delighted with this “treehouse” feel stay. Everything was delightful - open, spacious, super clean and comfortable. The mountainous, curvy roads at night were definitely worth the destination. Janet was a thoughtful host. All of the instructions were clear. We loved our stay, and would definitely book again!

Beautiful, clean, quiet, and spacious apartment. Private balcony overlooking forest and canyon is perfect for watching birds while drinking morning coffee. Only downside is the stairs down from the street-level to the apartment entrance. They are safe and have good lighting at night but could be a challenge for some.

We felt right at home here. This location could not have been cleaner or more comfortable. We also very much enjoyed the views of the surrounding hills. Just be sure you are prepared for a bit of a circuitous drive.

Spectacular views and excellent unit

Great stay at first rate property. Immaculately clean, functional layout, amazing deck. Comfortable bed, great usable kitchen. Friendly on-site host. Great neighborhood. Highly recommend. Be aware that you need to carry everything down and up a long flight of stairs. Really enjoyed our stay.
