We are frequent visitors to Ocracoke, but this was our first stay at The Grey Pearl. We hope it was the first of many, as within a day, it became our favorite place to stay on the island. It is immaculately clean, extremely comfortable, and delightfully inviting. The kitchen, which has received some lovely upgrades since the posted photos, has been appointed with everything you need for the days when you would rather stay in and cook a delicious meal. The comfortable mattresses provide a restful night's sleep and the cozy indoor and outdoor seating areas accommodate relaxing conversations. The beautifully updated bathroom is spacious, with a roomy shower providing a powerful stream of endless hot water. The location of the cottage is simply amazing; while it is within a short walking distance to some great places to eat, shop, and socialize, it is tucked away, allowing for an amazing degree of privacy. The communication from the host is excellent, with near instantaneous responses to any questions. Five stars does not seem like an adequate rating for the best mini vacation we have taken in a long while!
