West Side Mid-Century Bungalow

Relax & enjoy this quaint and quirky, 1-story home in a quiet neighborhood on the west side of town. Our classic, mid-century bungalow situated on a large lot has been partially updated with some modern amenities, but holds it’s mid century character. According to guest feedback, exterior of the home needs some TLC. Since the home was built in the 1936 hallways and rooms are smaller than today's standards. Although this home is one level, there are additions that have a small step up or step down. Quirky layout, but open concept. Smaller kitchen, but fully stocked.

Fully fenced backyard is perfect for your furry friends to run and play. As a disclosure, parts of the fence are only 3 feet tall. Walking distance to Canyon Lake Park; minutes from the Black Hills National Forest off Highway 44; less than 8 minutes to downtown Rapid City; less than 5 minutes to west side shopping and restaurants; and of course only 30 minutes to Mount Rushmore. This home is sure to be the perfect basecamp for your adventures in the Black Hills!

This was a fine place to rest our heads for the night! The house was clean and ready for us early. The beds were comfortable, if a little firm. It was a bit quirky with the slight steps between many of the rooms, but overall a comfortable, nicely sized house for our family of 5!

We came into town for the Sturgis Rally and were really satisfied with the bungalow. It was the perfect size for 3 grown men. It was in a nice quiet neighbor with easy access to restaurants, gas, and grocery stores. It was a place we would have been happy to stay in at anytime even with our wives and girlfriends. Really clean and neat place to stay with everything needed for a good time. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for one evening and it was a perfect stay! The house was easy to find and check in to. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Everything was fully stocked and easy to find. The bathrooms and bathtub are older but still clean. We would definitely stay again!

Way too small for a family of 6

Everything was super clean inside, very well done by the cleaners.However, I'll list the things future renters might want to know, House is way smaller and way less private than the pictures show.Walls are paper thin and its super loud outside all night, especially when the neighbors played loud music 3 of the 4 nights we stayed there. Beds are hard as a brick, I had to sleep on the couch all week, they are terrible. The thermostat goes crazy for no reason turns on and off,(its probably programmed to do that and I just didnt dig deep enough to undo that).No central air, has window ac units in each room though. Does have nice dishes and silverware.Washer dryer and dishwasher all worked great!*I do come from living in the country so the outside noise probably does bother me more than others. The host was super great at responding to messages, and we didn't need to ask them for anything while we were there.

Overall Nice Place

House was spacious. I appreciate the great communication with the host. The house is older l, but well taken care of with modern updates. It was nice and clean. My only feedback would be that the seals around the window ACs be improved as they were not good and I could see them being problematic for insects to enter. They also made the bedrooms more noisy.

As a previous resident of Rapid City, I understand these older homes come with a story and a need for extra love. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the extra insect's coming through the window a/c units. My son is sensitive to insect bites and got a good spider bite during the night. Pans could use an update.

Comfortable and Convenient

This is a great property for friends or family looking for a reasonably priced house in a safe convenient property. As advertised, it is an older property that has been updated. Not for those looking for "posh" but perfect otherwise. It is very clean, and we enjoyed the front porch for chilling after a day of sightseeing and the electric fireplace for starting the day with a cup of coffee.

Great location

Quirky, cute property. Perfect location for visiting Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the Badlands. House had everything we needed. Hosts were friendly and responded quickly to our questions. We had a great time!

Great place to stay, very clean!!!!

Great place, very cute and clean! The property has a nice backyard and the ac wall units keep the house cool. We co-sleep with our baby, so we enjoyed the very firm king-size mattress, but all guest may not. Good location with an AMAZING park (Canyon Lake Park) 2-minute drive away!

Perfect!

This bungalow was perfect for our family of 5. It was a great location for ease of navigating all the places we wanted to explore in the Hills. It was also great having the grocery store and restaurant options so close. The evenings were so peaceful and we were able to enjoy sitting on the patio, grilling and the fire pit. If we are in the area again we will definitely stay again.

Such a vibe!

Plenary of space and such thoughtful amenities. Maps to hikes, games, a very helpful umbrella. lol Seriously cute decor and an awesome location to drive to our fave Black Hills spots or bike into downtown. Loved our stay!

Cute home for short stay

We were moving to a different state and wanted somewhere that we would be able to fit our 30 ft Penske truck along with our other vehicles. We were able to check in early and the truck fit perfectly in the rv parking section. We brought our dogs and they enjoyed the yard so much. The location was perfect and quiet, we enjoyed our stay very much!

Cute and quirky

This property worked great for us, group of 4 with 5th visitor. It’s an older home that has been fixed up. Two really big bedrooms that were comfortable plus a nice third. Nice appliances and amenities (really great out door spaces we took advantage of early morning/late evening. Great host that provided lots of useful local info, was super responsive and accepts pets. WOOF. It’s an older home so don’t expect a perfect layout, wide doorways and huge bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Rapid City.

Rapid City Stay

Spent 2 nights in Rapid City. Nice location to parks and convenient to attractions. Easy location in quiet neighborhood, however the neighborhood was a little questionable. It seemed safe, but houses were small and many were unkept.
