The Blue House – Eclectic Art Haven in Huntington’s Best Parks

Welcome to The Blue House, an inviting 1927 home located just minutes from Marshall University and perfectly positioned between Ritter Park and Memorial Park in one of Huntington’s most historic, walkable neighborhoods. A scenic path right outside the front door provides effortless access to both parks’ trails, gardens, and green space—ideal for dog owners, runners, and nature lovers. Early check in and late check out are available for most reservations because we want to make your travel plans as stress free as possible. We leave indoor and outdoor lights on if you arrive after dark and provide fresh snacks and drinks for all of our guests. If an issue comes up at the last minute or if you simply change your plans you will receive a full refund right up to the day before your scheduled stay.

Inside, the home features a curated blend of original local artwork, hand-selected antiques, and eclectic vintage décor, giving every room warmth, creativity, and personality. Cozy reading nooks, vintage lamps, books, and a record-listening room create a truly distinctive and welcoming atmosphere.

The home includes 3 bedrooms (King, Full, Full), a dining room for six, a fully stocked kitchen, one full bath with a walk-in shower, and a half bath. Amenities include 1 Gbps high-speed internet, a smart TV with Peacock, a full-size washer and dryer, and a whole-house generator. Smoking is allowed on the back patio; vaping is permitted indoors. (Please note that the full bath and all bedrooms are located on the second floor.)

Outside, enjoy a private fenced backyard, covered patio seating, seasonal gardens, and off-street parking for two. We are genuinely pet-friendly—no fees, no weight limits, and protective covers/blankets provided.

For longer visits, we offer preferred extended-stay rates: 10% for week-long stays and 20% for month-long stays. We provide a mid-cenrury modern work desk and chair in the master bedroom, overlooking the creek and nature trail, for guests who work from home. The Blue house is an older home so the upstairs heats up and cools down slower than downstairs so please don't forget to adjust the temperature an hour before bedtime.
