You'll love the breathtaking views that look and feel like you're in Gatlinburg! It's so peaceful out here that it's hard to believe you're only 30 minutes from Downtown Nashville!

The guest suite occupies half of my home (yes, I live here!). It is approximately 600+ square feet with a private entry and interior walls that separate your space from mine. Your side comes complete with a bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchenette with cooking essentials, and a beautiful 10'x16' deck with gorgeous views of the valley! Other amenities include an electric grill and a fire pit with chairs.

If you're a pet lover, great...so am I! My adorable Shih-tzus and cats live here. If you do not love pets, like pets, or are allergic to pets - PLEASE consider choosing another place for your stay as this is a pet-friendly property. I welcome a maximum of two (2) per reservation and have two very large fenced-in yards to accommodate any size pups. This is an accommodation that I offer to my guests with the paid pet fee. (**NOTE: The non-refundable pet fee is $50 per pet for 1-3 night stays and $100 per pet for 4+ night stays. Please add your pet(s) to your reservation and let me know you'll be bringing your fur babies. The price will be adjusted accordingly.)

Terrific Stay with Great Hospitality

We had a great reception in a convenient and well cared for suite. We have dogs and to our pleasant surprise our host cares for dogs. As our daughter was getting married it was great that we were able to hire her to help with their care. We had a wonderful 6 days, will be back, and recommend our host!!!

Wonderful Experience!

We found our stay at this "home away from home" to be everything hoped for and more. The private porch has a beautiful view and the detail given to the inside accessories and decor is spot on. We were more than comfortable - this is such an excellent place to decompress. It's a quiet area and we look forward to staying there again!

Birthday Getaway

It was my husbands birthday this weekend and i surprised him with a weekend trip to TN. It has been a calm and relaxing weekend. The neighborhood seems very safe and it is very quiet! Mistie was great when I had any questions! We will stay here again if we come back this way!

Sadly, this review was expected from this guest, as she promised to "destroy me with horrible reviews if I did not refund her" after she made three different excuses for not liking my property. #1. She complained about "a barking dog." #2. She claimed "she and her husband are both highly allergic to cats." And #3. She complained that it "smelled." She thought one of her three lousy excuses would force me to comply with her refund demand. Obviously not. I would ask anyone considering booking here to read my other reviews. Anne is flat-out lying. The reality is Anne admitted not reading my property description or the additional information that I send all guests, which detail among other things that my property is pet-friendly and that I and my pets live in the other half of the home. It's also important to note that Anne selected the "non-refundable" rate. Still, I chose to refund a portion of what she paid, even though I did not have to. Fellow VRBO & AirBnb owners: my advice is stay far, far away from this guest and let the lesson I learned be enough for you to not allow her to book at your property.

We were in a bind and needed a place to stay for hunting. She made us feel welcome and accommodated out boat and early morning hours. I seen reviews about her dogs but they were well behaved and we never heard them.

Great place to relax and enjoy the view

Very nice suite - Mistie had it all nice and ready for us including seasonal decorations to make it feel like home. The view from the deck is great and the weather made it the perfect place to spend the cool mornings. It was nice to feel like I had a safe place to return each night after exploring the surrounding area. Lots of trails and parks to enjoy as well as small town flea markets. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a geat away or needing a quiet place outside of Nashville.

GREAT EXPERIENCE

What a nice experience! The area was so clean and comfortable, not only for us but also for our dog. The view from the deck is BEAUTIFUL! We could not stay outside much due to the heat wave that Tennessee was experiencing. However, when we return, we will definitely spend some time outside. We will stay with at this beautiful location again.

Was an ok stay but don’t book if you’re not an animal person

Not the greatest experience. The bathroom was dirty and we had to clean it ourselves. We didn’t have pets and the couch was covered in dog hair. Good location in a safe neighborhood but not impressive overall for the price. Do not come hear if you don’t have pets

Isaac, I'm sorry to see your review. I feel strongly that you are confusing my property with another one, which is unfortunate. To say "the bathroom was dirty and we had to clean it ourselves" is absolutely incorrect. I personally scrub and disinfect the bathroom and entire guest suite myself EVERY TIME guests leave and check it again before new ones arrive. That bathroom is spotless...I take pride in that! I'd encourage others to look at my other reviews for cleanliness. I also vehemently disagree that "the couch was covered in dog hair." That's simply untrue. The blankets in the living room are "furry" and soft so you must have confused that with dog hair. Lastly, the one thing you are correct about is my pets. I am very transparent about them in my listing. If someone doesn't like pets, I would highly encourage them to book elsewhere.

Wonderful Stay for Mother's Day weekend!

Mom and I met in Nashville for a long girls' weekend and stayed at Mistie's guest rental. The rental was lovely - the perfect size for the two of us plus the service dog-in-training Mom is fostering. There were so many amenities - a comfy bed, TV in the living room and bedroom and a nice bathroom available. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs. Additionally, it was great to have washer and dryer access in the rental. The separate side entrance was perfect for us as we were coming and going and to be able to take Mom's foster dog out. Mistie was a gracious host and very welcoming! The location was perfect - just outside Nashville and so peaceful and tranquil with great views - I really appreciated it as I recharged over the long weekend. Definitely consider this as a top choice if you are visiting or passing through Nashville!

Nice little place except for barking dogs

The property was exactly as described. The deck was nice, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was really nice. However, the dogs barked at us on arrival, and barked in the middle of the night when Mistie was out of town. They were quiet at night while she was there and we rarely got to be on the deck without being barked at . While it is marketed as pet friendly, it is stressful for some dogs to be barked at this much. Mine was very quiet and good about it, but definitely didn't love it. If I had brought either of my other dogs the experience would have driven me to a hotel.

I apologize that my pups barked while I was away. I know they bark for a bit when a new guest arrives, but it's extremely rare for me not to be there overnight, so I was not aware they barked in the middle of the night. Again, I'm so sorry! Thanks for letting me know.

Great Communication, Inaccurate Listing

Mistie was great with communication. Very thorough in the check in process. We had a wedding and she even let us check in early to get ready for the wedding!!. The house was well stocked with all the things... However, the listing does not state that she is in the house with you. There is a locking door that divides the house from the little apartment. She also has 2 small dogs. Each time we walked by the door they barked, we could hear her TV until 11 pm, and the apartment smelled like dog urine.

I appreciate all feedback, however, this feedback is just plain false. This review is in retaliation because I charged the renters extra for the two additional people they snuck into the suite thinking I wouldn't find out. My listing says a maximum of four (4) people per reservation, yet they had 6 people - 3 adults and 3 children. Also, my listing states in multiple places that I live in the home and I also provide detailed information via direct message to every client who books stating such but in this case, clearly none of it was read. Lastly, my dogs do not have access to the guest suite; therefore it does not and has never smelled like urine. I went out of my way to help this family by letting them check in early, yet they still tried to take advantage. Please read my other reviews - which are all 5 stars - for an accurate account of what I offer at my guest suite. I am proud to share it with you, and I'm sure you'll love it here as much as I do!
