A California Classic Ranch House

Nestled between two popular Santa Rita Hills Appellation Vineyards, located on the west end of the Santa Ynez Valley and boasting 100 acres of unmatched privacy and 360-degree sweeping mountain views, Rio Vista Ranch is the ultimate vacation home. Originally built in 1941 by world-renowned California artist, Channing Peake, honeymooned at by Gregory Peck in 1955, frequented by Hollywood stars including Audrey Hepburn and featured in the classic family Disney Movie (“STUB, The Best Cowdog in the West”), Rio Vista Ranch is truly a historical masterpiece.

Take a step back in time to enjoy historic California Rancho life, with large open windows throughout, overlooking the property (and beyond), this bright modern ranch-style home is gently shaded by oak, sycamore, pine and walnut trees. Magical Stay

We came for a wine weekend and absolutely loved this property for a large group. The grounds are so beautiful - highly recommend you enjoy a stunning sunset while there! The most beautiful rental property

Our entire group agreed that this house was the most beautiful VRBO we had ever stayed at. The house itself is spacious, thoughtfully decorated and designed, and it feels like you’re in a Nancy Meyers movie. There are beautiful views of the valley from the property, and the outdoor spaces really extend the livable areas of the space. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely be staying here.

"Taste of the Santa Ynez valley" weekend

We are a wine and food group and stayed here for the "Taste of the Santa Ynez Valley" weekend. It was a great location and a wonderful house and guest house to accommodate our group. We had a lunch and tasting at Peake Ranch winery, which is right next door, and had a wonderful finale dinner at the house with a Santa Ynez valley winemaker. It was a wonderful weekend!

Amazing Place!

We absolutely loved our stay in Central Coast wine country. This house was in the perfect location for visiting wineries- we work in the business and appreciated the short drives! It’s beautiful and well maintained with plenty of space for a large group of adults. The kitchen is perfect. Highly recommended for large groups!

An amazing experience

I booked this stay with a group of girls for a 30th birthday. The house was so amazing all I wanted to do was hang out there. The pictures are great, but don’t do it justice. It was like living in a Nancy Meyers movie. Jordan was very helpful throughout the checking in process and sent over some great local recommendations. The land itself was perfect for morning strolls and the beds were life changingly comfortable. I hope to return some day!

Fantastic Weekend

Location is perfectly private and close to downtown Buellton all at once. Beautiful properly for large groups with their own bedrooms. What isn’t visble from the pics is how far away the guest house where two bedrooms are, is from the main house. With ladies walking in pitch dark it’s important to note. The landscape could use a bit more clean up. No hot tub as initially described. But the space if beautiful and comfortable. And Jordan is very responsive. Would visit again.

This property is amazing. It’s beautiful, serene, and well kept. We had such a magical time celebrating a birthday. Jordan is incredible as far as hosts go. He is attentive, responsive, and so helpful. He made sure we had everything we need. It’s a magical place. 10/10 recommend. The grounds are beautiful, the location is superb. We loved it and are already planning to return. The photos are pretty but nothing can compare to the actual serenity of the location itself. The resources Jordan provides made booking everything from a chef to activities so easy. The kitchen is great for those who love to cook and there are so many warm and inviting spaces to spend time enjoying each other’s company. Book here, you’ll love it.

Absolutely gorgeous!

I spent several hours l trying to put into words just how amazing this home is. Some of the other reviews are absolutely on point that the pictures do not do it justice. My husband and I were floored by not only the stunning vistas all around the property, but inside the property itself. The rooms are very well appointed, the beds are super comfortable, the aesthetic is gorgeous. We also used. the guest cottage. We had a total of seven couples, and used every single room, and every single inch of the property. We felt that we had plenty of space not only for the moments where we’re all together, but also when someone wanted to steal away and have some quiet time to read a book. We are frequent travelers to this area and have stayed in many homes and I have to say without a doubt this is our favorite. We did have a few very slight snafus, but worked with Jordan, property management, who was super helpful and attentive.. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone.

Family stay for local wedding

This property is incredible! Charming, spacious, beautifully appointed, extremely clean & well stocked, quiet, private, & beautiful backyard with chandeliers in trees! The kitchen had plenty of cookware & serving dishes. The stovetop was upper quality as was the spacious refrigerator. We rented this house for our family of 12 adults and one 2 yr old because our daughter was being married at a local venue. The guest cottage was lovely and well appointed too. The only issue was the hot water in the front two bathrooms takes a long time to heat as the house is older. When I contacted Jordan for help, he responded immediately and offered to come over if we couldn’t get it to work. He was right and we got the hang of it! I only wish we had had more time at this beautiful old ranch property as it was a very fast wedding weekend. Our entire family will be back soon since the newlyweds reside in the area….probably for a family holiday!

40th birthday weekend

Jordan’s home was the perfect place to gather my girlfriends for a birthday celebration! The house was a picturesque Nancy Meyers dream - the weather was gorgeous and everything was green and glorious. Seriously, just pure heaven. The home is huge (a few girls got lost inside lol) and all the beds are high quality. We hired a private chef for one night and it was such a memorable experience! Jordan was super helpful in every communication. Would stay again in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone!

Wonderful house on a beautiful property. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Perfect for our family gathering to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. From 12 years of age to 80 it suited us all.
