Wonderful stay for our snowy, winter trip. The location is private and beautiful. Game room, hot tub and fireplaces were perfect for our group of eight ( one 8 month old). As were the 4 full bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. An older home with a ton of character. Under advertised. Loved it. Thank you. -from Pennsylvania.

We were a multi-generational family friends on our annual, holiday ski trip. Emily's Inn provided the perfect place for us to regroup and relax after a day on the slopes. The house has several great areas for gathering and plenty of room to spread out. The hot tub, sauna, and game room were a real hit! The convenience of four bathrooms made getting ready a breeze. The host was extremely responsive to questions and welcomed us with a gift basket of Vermont goodies.We highly recommend this house!

Perfect Couple's retreat

We had a group of four couples that needed to stay near Stowe for a wedding. The property could not have been more perfect. From the comfortable beds and bedrooms, to the easily accessible showers, to the late night sauna sessions. We are all trying to figure out when we can stay here again!

Ski weekend

The place was excellent. Comfortably slept 8 adults. We had about a foot of snow fall while at the property. The owner had the drive way plowed very quickly and was super responsive to messages.

Great for a family gathering

Every room is cozy to hang out in: living room, game room, dining room with large table, sun room with spectacular views, and hot tub room. 8 of us stayed and it was comfortable and spacious. The deck is a lovely place to hang out with picture perfect views of the valley and mountains. Kitchen is well-equipped. Short drive to Stowe downtown area. Highly recommend!

Great family ski trip

Property was as advertised. Abit outside Stowe. Plowed as needed. Lots of room to spread out. Loved the hot tub. Quiet peaceful setting. Dining room table good size with enough seating for all. No need to contact owner at all.

We had a great time at Emily’s Inn! It fit our 2 families perfectly. Thank you!

It was a nice home. The kids loved the game room and hot tub and the adults loved the living room fire place. It is about 20 mins from the mountain, but the back roads helped avoid traffic. The beds were very soft and after 4 nights my husband and I were sore. The lighting is sparse and the house feels dark. All in all it was a fun stay.

Perfect base for a great vacation in Stowe

We stayed at Emily's Inn for a week in July. The house was perfectly designed to accommodate our family group. There is plenty of space to spread out, both indoors and out, including a beautiful porch with a gorgeous view- perfect for relaxing after a long day. Plenty of fantastic hiking in the area, and the hot tub was a joy to come back to!! Downtown Stowe is a very short drive and has lots of great restaurants and wonderful little shops to browse through. The owner was wonderfully accommodating- she definitely wants to ensure that all guests enjoy their stay- and we couldn't have been happier with the trip overall. We are looking forward to returning and definitely recommend Emily's Inn for any groups visiting the area.

Beautiful home as advertised

Rented this beautiful home during a cold week in August. The house is large, clean, and well decorated. It was too cold to use the pool, however the hot tub was great! The kids enjoyed the pool table in the game room. We enjoyed the outdoor grill and ate on the deck enjoying the quiet and dark outdoors. Sauna would be wonderful in the winter. The house is about ten minutes to Stowe and a few more to Mount Mansfield and Smuggler's Notch. We toured Vermont with this house as our base. We enjoyed our stay and may repeat for winter skiing!

Great spot for apres ski from Stowe

Overall a great spot to land after skiing at Stowe. Hot tub and sauna were fantastic. The steam room never got hot enough for our use but that may have been a user error. 9 adults fit comfortably in the house. The games room was a great place to hang out as a group & we enjoyed the fireplace in the family room. Our only complaint was a lack of linens. Sheets and pillowcases were not provided for the futon & the towel supply was low (using separate towels for showering vs. chlorinated hot tub use). I spoke to the owner and this seemed to be a housekeeping issue. We came here for winter activities, but I would imagine that this place would be great in the summer with the outdoor pool as well!

Beautiful property that’s hidden away.

Emily’s Inn was fantastic. It has everything. Hot tub? Check. Sauna? Check. Steam shower? Check. Pool table, dart board, and bar. Check check check. There are beautiful views of the mountains. It’s nestled away, so there is total privacy and seclusion, but it’s also minutes away from downtown Stowe. We got to do everything from hiking Mt. Mansfield, to visiting the Trapp Family Lodge, taking multiple visits to the Ben & Jerry’s factory, and much much more. Management was very accessible. Anytime we had any questions management would respond almost immediately, so there was no waiting on having our inquiries addressed. We will definitely be booking this property again for future visits. This place was perfect. Thank you for letting our family stay at your wonderful property!

ok overall but some information was withheld

The house is cozy, with indoor Jacuzzi and steam room but the owner miss inform us about how far the house is located from the Stowe slops... there are 13 mile that takes 25-35 min to drive depends on traffic, she said it was 8... not the best choice if you're going skiing. Then 2 weeks before the trip I was require a deposit or purchase insurance for the house... she felt so bad for us that she said a beautiful cheese basket will be waiting upon our arriving... no, it was a bottle of wine....so, yea not the best experience.

This renter was a problem from day one. She had the worst attitude of anyone I have rented to in 30 years. She had a major problem giving a fully refundable security deposit for any damage she may cause. Her deposit check was refunded within 5 days of her departure. The house is 3.5 miles to Stowe Village and 8-9 miles to the slopes. I told her of a shortcut to take to the mountain to avoid traffic...obviously, she did not listen. If she wanted to be closer...she should have rented a house on the slopes. She was a continuous problem for the 3 nights she was there. She called me freaking out about being "snowed in"... I called my plow man...he rushed out of his home at 9pm on a Sunday evening to plow 2" of snow...he couldn't believe it. As far as leaving a gift...I left a $27 bottle of wine...I guess that was not good enough. Everyone loves this home...unfortunately there is always one bad apple.

Nice property when you have electricity & water...

My family and I stayed at this property over Christmas. It is a nice house - when the power is on. A major storm came through and the power was out for 34 hours (from Dec. 23 - 10:00 pm Dec. 24). It is bad enough not to have electricity for that long (the sun went down around 4:30 pm and came up around 7:00 am), but even worse, at this house you don't have water when the electricity is out. That means that you can't flush toilets, shower, or cook. We got in touch with the owner about the electricity and she was responsive and communicated with local authorities about it. She kept in touch with us. We were told at least 5 times that the power would be on 'soon' but it didn't happen. We went to Stowe on Dec. 23 and found that many businesses had experienced a power outage also and were closed. We had no choice but to use the bathrooms at the house, even though they couldn't be flushed. We spent the night of Dec. 23 by the fire trying to keep warm and woke up on Christmas Eve hopeful that the power would be on 'soon' and we could enjoy our vacation. It didn't happen and we spent most of the day in the house with toilets full of excrement. My husband finally got some snow, melted it on the stovetop (which is gas), and put it in the toilet tanks to allow us to flush the toilets. This process literally took hours to be able to flush all four toilets. We ended up renting one hotel room (there weren't many options on Dec. 24) so my 79-year old father could sleep in a warm room and we could all take a shower and use a toilet that flushed! The owner said she would pay for the hotel room, but we had prepaid for it, and she didn't refund any of the money to our credit card. Regarding the property itself, it is a nice, spacious house. However, furnishings are pretty outdated, some things do not work well, and the lighting is low in most rooms. For example, the shower head in the master bedroom had a hard spray that could not be adjusted, so I took my showers in the bathroom by the hot tub. The couch in the game room is uncomfortable because you slip off the cushions and the cushions don't stay in place. The game room is nice but there aren't any comfortable seats. Be aware that it is 10+ minute drive to downtown Stowe and a 20+ minute drive to the mountain. Would I recommend this property? IF the electricity is working, I would rate it a 4. If you stay here, pray that the electricity does not go out!

I don't usually respond to reviews, however, in this case I feel I have to. The entire area, with towns for miles around lost power. There was nothing I could do other than keep in touch with both the renters and the power company. They lost power for 36 hours. Of course 36 hours is more than anyone would want to be without power...but 100% out of my control. I resent this woman saying that I didn't offer to pay for their hotel room, I most certainly did. I also offered them a free of charge stay if they want to come back to Stowe. I also offered them a free vacation at my ocean front condo in Myrtle Beach. I sent both of them a message to contact me to let me know how much their hotel was AND if they wanted the free vacation. I haven't heard one word from them until this review. Funny how the response from them when they arrived was how wonderful the house was...now negative remarks. I can not control the major storm that went through Vermont. I feel I went above and beyond with my offers. Some people you just can't please.

Emily’s Inn delivered! The home is well cared for and offers several fun amenities hot tub, spa, steam room, fire pit, game room and fabulous Mountain View’s. The location is perfect close to the activities but a little bit secluded. Perfect place for a family vacation anytime of year.

Lovely Place to Stay

We had a family gathering at Emily's Inn. We enjoyed the place very much - great location, beautiful views and spacious rooms. Hot tub, sauna and steam shower were much appreciated. The house was few miles from town and close to several trails. The game room was amazing which brought joyful moments for the family gathering. We will definitely come back some time.

Relaxing Family Get-Together

Emily's Inn is a lovely property that suited us well for a short stay to attend a wedding in Stowe. We enjoyed the deck and views and the quiet setting. Plenty of room for 5 adults and a large dog! It is out in the country, so keep in mind that there are well maintained dirt roads and it is really dark at night. The hot tub, steam shower and sauna were appreciated!

Perfect dog friendly getaway

Communication with Emily was easy. The house was perfect for us- spacious, plenty of comfortable seating and gorgeous views, especially from the sun room. We loved the hot tub and the pool table and there was a ton of outdoor seating to enjoy the fresh air. We definitely will be back!

Ideal Mountain Getaway

Three generations of our family gathered at Emily’s Inn for a restful, fun and engaging long weekend. We made delicious meals and dined at a large table that overlooked the beautiful Vermont mountains. Relaxing by the fireplace we played pool, darts and board games. The delightful sauna & jacuzzi were a hit with the young adults in our group and everyone had plenty of space to gather or discover a quiet space to be alone. Great way to close out the season

We had two family stay in Emily's Inn and we loved it! The different sections of the home made it easy for different conversations to take place and for groups to gather. We really enjoyed the family room and the game room; pool was a big hit for parents and adults. We knew there was a hot tub but not a sauna which was bonus. The kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were well stocked. Lastly, who would have thought that Stowe would get an additional 4-6" the evening we arrived? The next 2 days of skiing & boarding were awesome. Thank you for a great time and definitely will book again.

Beautiful Property

Emily's inn has everything you need for a home away from home stay. It was perfect in everyway. The location, the amenities, the amount of space and things to do on the property.

Ski getaway

Overall no issues whatsoever. Great location , great house and views. Communication from the onset was easy, Emily's Inn always answered my questions quickly. Complimentary bottle of wine was a nice gesture. Hot tub, sauna and steam shower was amazing after long day of skiing. The house is 5 miles to town which is nice but also far enough from town and the traffic. It is close enough to the mountain if you don't mind the 15-20 minute drive, which we liked seeing all the views at different times of the days. The house is very spacious and the game room is where we spent most of our time. I will say that the pictures in no way does this house any justice. it really is big. Definitely will rent again.
