Separate gated entrance to the private guest suite which occupies the lower level of the home named the Treehouse of Love (no shared spaces). Enjoy the backyard to yourself! Brand new queen bed, cozy sofa, 65" TV, fridge/freezer, Keurig mini coffee machine, full bath with beautiful shower, and a patio set to enjoy the lush tropical backyard. Outdoor surf shower and a hammock to relax in. Close/walking distance to the ocean, park, and great local restaurants/bars.

Fantastic spot in the heart of So Cal surfer country. Walk to see the sun set over the ocean at Beacon's beach, or even closer, Orpheus Park. Or just stay in the magical backyard in the evening as the twinkling solar lights come on. My 5-day stay with my pup could not have been better. Kara was a very responsive host and there were special touches throughout, including some delicious chocolates. The beach, restaurants, the freeway are all super close. And yet the space is very quiet and peaceful. Perfect.

Courteous Host / Great Getaway Spot

Kara was a great communicator throughout our stay (including pre/post) and we couldn't have asked for a better host! She has a lovely backyard spot with easy access to Encinitas (3-4 min drive). We were greeted with little snacks and beverages which was much appreciated after a long drive. We would absolutely return on a heart beat. Very much appreciated the hospitality and accomodations. 10 Star over 5 stars.

Kara is a plus premium quality host. I give her 10 stars for her communication. The property is exactly. The property was beautiful cleans and very classy. Kara had complimentary items in the suite. The medicine and shower had items to use. The hammock was a plus. We stuck our Teo Labrador’s dogs. They were in love with the backyard as much as we were. Downtown Encinitas was a block or so away. Kara was constantly checking on us and made our stay so pleasant. The property has a serenity and calm feeling. Every area in suite was top quality and relaxation. The beach is close by and Starbucks on the corner of man road. Coffee and little snacks were available to have. The refrigerator was stock with drinks. A lot of clean towels and bedding. The suite was like a pottery barn beach kinda feeling and everything was lovely. You can’t by this one up. We celebrated our 27th anniversary. Staying at the treehouse of love put the cherry on top. Thank you Kara!!!

Tropical Tree of Love This Place!

My husband and I along with our two very tiny Chihuahuas found this guest house quite comfortable. It was a perfect space and private access to the backyard was awesome for our pets. Thank you, Kara for the drinks in the fridge. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet and the private entrance to the guest house was a plus. Very comfortable and cozy.

A great little in-law unit in a lovely neighborhood! Stayed here over three nights while visiting our daughter who lives nearby. Location is central, near everything. My siblings and I stayed here for a couple nights. We absolutely loved it! Space is so well done, clean and has everything you would need. Backyard is fantastic! My name is Kara Watkins and we are raising our three young boys here in Leucadia, CA. We are always at the beach playing in the sand or in the waves. I am from Northern CA (Santa Cruz) but I have lived in San Diego 20 years now. Leucadia is a wonderful laid back surf town with epic world class waves. There are a ton of great places to dine and visit while in Leucadia/Encinitas/Cardiff and I am happy to give you all my favorites. If you like live music, hit the Belly Up, one of my favorite local venues. I am a local realtor specializing in beach communities along the Coast of San Diego and I am SO proud to call Leucadia "home".
