This corner unit is absolutely perfectly situated. Actually, let me take that back... if it was within walking distance to a Catholic Church, it would have been perfectly situated. But it is right in the middle of a 7 - 12 minute drive to several Catholic Churches that we were able to go to for Holy Mass everyday of our stay. Not to mention, this place was only about a 35 min. drive to the beautiful, historic Mission San Xavier del Bac. This National Historic Landmark, was founded as a Catholic mission by Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. Construction of the current church began in 1783 and was completed in 1797. The oldest intact European structure in Arizona, the church's interior is filled with marvelous original statuary and mural paintings. It is a place where visitors can truly step back in time and enter an authentic 18th Century space. There is no admission charge. Check and see if you can go with a guide to the museum - that made it so much more memorable for us, as things were explained that might have been missed if we toured on-our-own. The gift shop featured hand made baskets made by the Tohono Nation for only $15. Mass schedule is listed on the website, just Google, Mission San Xavier del Bac and you will be able to read all about this Mission, its location, History, Special Events and more. It is a must see even if you are not Catholic. This is a piece of history that is of interest to many.
Ok, about the condo itself..... the furnishings are very high end. Every kitchen tool, pot or pan, you need is at your fingertips, and when we were there we were happy to find a bottle of olive oil that we used to make salad dressing. Other spices too really came in handy. There were plenty of quality towels and the Washer and Dryer made it possible to pack less. Great WIFI safe, comfortable. We used the BBQ on condo grounds, bought briquettes at Trader Joe's.
The condo is a located just steps away from a locked gate that leads you to "the loop", a paved walking and bicycling trail. It also makes it possible to walk quickly to Trader Joe's and a pretty good fast food Mexican Restaraunt called Costa Vida. Right next door is St. Phillips Plaza that has a great farmer's market every Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. - 12 noon. Lots of ready-to-eat and crafty vendors. Restaurants open if you want a sit down meal.
The owner of the condo was very attentive, although we didn't need a thing once we found the place.
