Upon arrival, we were shocked to see that the owner did not reveal that the home very close next door is severely burned and needing demolition. We later learned the fire happened 10 months before, and listing photos were not updated to show this. Very scary and ugly and ruins the outdoor experience.There is no one there to meet you and document property condition for check in or check out. You are sent a code the morning of. On the plus side, the property was clean and well appointed with comfortable beds. Regarding vehicles… The listing says 3 vehicle parking, but then you’re told 2 maximum. Also, in spite of my questions on the property access and drive incline, he failed to mention it is VERY steep, narrow, and windy. Huge hill. It takes skill and a fearless temperament to drive down unscathed. Nice that the owner did apologize, but when we expressed that under the circumstances, what we paid for 2 weekday nights in off-season for this was too much, and asked for a 25% discount, he refused. Strange, because he had messaged offering 25% off an additional day to stay longer (which we did not). We feel sorry that the fire happened, but the property price needs to reflect this, and guests need to know. He thanked us for leaving the place in excellent condition.
