Historic Stylish Townhouse | Steps to Streetcar
200 year old family friendly townhouse just steps from the St. Charles street car line and main Mardi Gras parade route! Enjoy a beautiful ride to the French Quarter, WWII museum, Mississippi River, casino, convention center, Audubon Zoo, Aquarium, City Park and so much more! This beauty is located within walking distance of acclaimed restaurants such as Commanderâs Palace and Mr. Johnâs Steakhouse as well as cemeteries. Magazine St. is also within walking distance for shopping and restaurants.
As of the end of May 2025, there is some construction going on in the neighborhood. There is a new building going up about a block away, and the city is also making road repairs, including repaving in front of the home and on the surrounding blocks. There may be construction noise heard inside the house during working hours. Please reach out to us with any questions.
***PLEASE NOTE*** this is a 3 story townhome. There are 3 steps to enter the home and the main bedroom and bath are on the 2nd floor (18 steps).
The 2nd bedroom, located on the 3rd floor is another 18 stairs. At the top of the stairs is one of the beds. There is a door leading into the other part of this sleeping area, but you have to walk through the first sleeping area to get to the 2nd one. See photos for more information.
Being an older home, the stairs are steep and quite narrow.
There is a half bath on the 1st floor, and the main bath is on the 2nd floor. There is no bathroom on the 3rd floor where the 2nd bedroom is.
While we welcome children and provide a stroller, high chair, and pack and play, the house is by no means baby proof in that there are no outlet covers or baby gates, etc. on the premises. You will have access to a well appointed kitchen including a Keurig with complimentary coffee, tea, sugars, creamer and basic spices.
You will have access to the entire townhouse aside from a maidâs closet on the 2nd floor and the ownerâs closet (2 doors) on the 3rd floor
I will be available 24/7 via text or phone call for any issues that should arise.
You will be staying one block from St. Charles Ave. There is a streetcar stop which can take you almost anywhere in the city including the French Quarter, WWII museum, zoo, aquarium, river, casino, cemeteries, and so much more! There are many restaurants and shopping within walking distance including Magazine St. St. Charles Ave. is also the main Mardi Gras parade route
There is free on street parking should you choose to bring a car. You do not need a car as you can get to almost anywhere in the city via streetcar, and Uber is very readily available should you choose this route.
This house has original windows and is very close to the street. You do experience higher levels of noise at times from the main bedroom. While we spray monthly for bugs/pests it is not uncommon for the occasional palmetto bug or lizard to find its way inside (both very common in the south). This will not result in a refund should one find their way in during your visit. Also being 200 years old this home can sometimes be âcrumblyâ. Despite frequent and thorough cleaning there will sometimes be mortar/brick dust under windows, on baseboards, and inside of the fireplaces. There is also a Ring doorbell with camera for the safety of our guests and our property.
There are some neighborhood chickens/roosters that may cause early morning noise. Consider this when you`re booking.
**There is a $200 security/damage deposit collected 3 days prior to arrival, and returned shortly after your stay. This is done as a $200 hold on your method of payment, not a full charge. Please see the rental agreement (required to be read and signed before booking) for more details. ***
1. The booking guest must have their ID uploaded to their airbnb profile.
2. Please be mindful of the neighbors sleeping. We recommend being quiet after 10:00pm.
3. While early check-in / late checkout may be available, this must be arranged ahead of time for an extra fee. Unauthorized Late checkouts are a $50 charge for each hour after 11am - a 15 minute grace period is given. Late checkouts MUST be requested before 9PM the day before your departure.
4. Smoking & vaping in the unit will result in a $500 deodorization fee. Please smoke outside of the property.
5. Unregistered guests and parties are prohibited by local laws and ILLEGAL. Our occupancy limits are set by local ordinance. Any guest found to have had a party or over-occupancy will be charged a $1,000 fee for non-compliance with local laws. Exterior cameras present at the property to verify these laws/house rules are not broken. As of May 2022, Airbnb has specifically banned parties from their units. Violation of this rule will result in a ban from Airbnb.
6. Please do not hang or attach anything to the walls with push pins, tape, etc. or other painted surfaces.
7. Please do not use face towels to remove makeup.
8. If the space is left excessively dirty $50 will be charged for each additional hour of cleaning required. Removal of bodily fluids will result in a charge of $150. Glitter cleanup will result in a charge of $100.
9. Unauthorized pets will result in an additional $250 deep cleaning cleaning fee and immediate request to leave. Pet Boarding recommendations available upon request. Both the owner and staff have pet allergies. If traveling with pets please inquire about our pet friendly units.
10. After youâve read these rules, please send me a message with the words âyellow kangarooâ it will let me know that you have read the rules thoroughly.
11. Unfortunately, we cannot accept bookings from âLocalsâ at this time. Locals is meant to include anyone residing within 60 miles of New Orleans.
12. While we cannot receive any mail or packages to the space we will assist with getting packages shipped to New Orleans if needed.
13. Commercial video and photo shoots are strictly forbidden without prior and authorized consent. Associated day-rate fees, liability waivers and copyright contracts will apply if consent is given.
14. Message us for long term stays.
15. Garbage days are Thursdays.
16. All of our TV`s are streaming, we do not provide any account information, you will have to log into your own. Please remember to log out at check out. We do not have cable TV.
17. RVs / Campers / Trailers are not allowed on the premises.
18. External power outlets can not be hooked up to the property under any circumstance.
19. Should you wish to receive an early check-in or late check-out, please let us know the day before and we will determine if it`s possible. We require time to prepare the unit for your stay or after your stay for the next guest and sometimes we are unable to accommodate. If we can accommodate, we will charge $25/hour for the additional booking time. This will also be in place for dropping luggage off or leaving your luggage after checkout time has passed. Payment will be requested through Airbnb after your additional time has been approved.
20. Lost Items: We return lost items for a $75 flat fee. This is to cover shipping costs, along with the time spent to retrieve & mail your item. If you leave anything at the unit, please let us know immediately.
