The Space:
This direct oceanfront private paradise is a completely remodeled 4 bed / 3 bath home which sits on a waterfront corner lot that boasts over 100' of direct ocean frontage plus an additional 100' of protected dockage. The concrete dock supports a single boat up to 40' (or multiple boats not more than 60' total) with new bumpers, mooring whips, electric and water, ladder, and a large custom fish cleaning table. An outdoor shower, commercial ice maker, dedicated bait freezer, kayak launching area, and quick ocean / gulf access make this home the ideal location for every Keys activity!

Located oceanfront midway between Sombrero Reef and Coffins Patch dive sites the home provides near-instant access to everything the Keys has to offer. Relax at the pool, fish from the dock, or just watch in amazement as your own personal aquarium greets you each day - manatees, dolphins, rays, and sharks, lobsters, pelicans, herons, ospreys, eagles, frigates, and fish, fish, fish are all regular guests at Hook Down Hideaway. You can explore the flats, hunt tarpon in the mangroves, boat or fish the glass-smooth gulf side waters, or enjoy world class diving and offshore fishing via the USCG maintained channel less than 300yds from your dock.

Returning from a day of boating, snorkeling, diving, or fishing you'll drift into the pool or relax with a cold drink in a private tropical oasis under the tiki. Lay back and enjoy the view across the pool and beyond, as you soak in a hundred shades of blue and green across miles of open water - it's a relaxing and mesmerizing way to finish each day!

The home features a fully stocked kitchen with all new stainless appliances to accommodate family meals at a large dining table overlooking the open ocean. We offer full-sized pots and pans and Keurig coffee makers, blenders, plenty of glasses for wine, beer, tropical drinks, and both formal and casual dishware for indoor or outdoor dining with every serving utensil you could ask for. A gas grill is located just off the dining area, and raised bar-style outdoor seating provides for stunning sunrises and sunsets. The 3/4 wrap around balcony affords 180 degrees of private open water views!

The indoor living area includes a sleeper sofa and loveseat with a large smart TV between full glass sliders that frame a gorgeous view of the Atlantic Ocean. Just off the open living area, conveniently located between all bedrooms, are the new large capacity front load washer and dryer.

All bedrooms and bathrooms are recently remodeled with new furniture, mattresses and linens, tile baths, marble countertops, and plenty of soft towels. The Master Bedroom faces the water with a spectacular oceanfront view, a luxurious king bed, and a private bathroom suite with 60" vanity and large oceanfront walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 includes a Queen Bed, wonderful water / pool view, and another private bathroom with a large walk in shower. Bedroom 3 provides a very comfortable King Bed and shares a bathroom with bedroom 4. Bedroom 4 includes two comfortable twin beds, water / pool view, and shares a bathroom with bedroom 3. The 3rd bathroom offers a full tub / shower combination.

TVs are provided throughout the home as well as outside, and all bedrooms offer charging stations at the nightstands. We provide secure high-speed mesh Wi-Fi internet and basic cable throughout the property, and guests can stream their favorite listings on the family room smart TV. For those wishing to work remotely, this home offers the perfect solution for work / play in the Florida Keys!

Parking is available for up to 4 vehicles (including covered parking for two) plus designated on-site parking for an empty boat trailer up to 40' long.

Pool and spa heat is provided for an additional cost of $200/wk.

Guest Access:
Guests have full access to this private home, pool, spa, grounds and dock. The owner's boat and boat lift are off limits but there is plenty of available dockage to bring your own boat.

The Neighborhood:
Hook Down Hideaway is located at the end of a quiet canal-lined residential street that opens directly to the Atlantic Ocean. The other lot at the end of the street is undeveloped, affording a private peninsula waterfront view capturing sunrise AND sunset with almost 270 degrees of waterfront - it is spectacular and peaceful all at the same time!

Getting Around:
We're located an approximate two hour drive from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale airports, and one hour from Key West in the Middle Keys. If you fly your own small plane, you can land right at the Marathon Airport and walk to the house!
Marathon provides the "Keysy" vibe and lifestyle with convenient access to retail shopping, restaurants, grocery and pharmacy, and countless small shops offering bait/tackle, fishing, and diving! Sombrero Beach, one of the only true Florida Keys beaches, is located just down the street, and countless other unique experiences await - the Dolphin Research Center, Turtle Hospital, and the Florida Keys Aquarium Encounter just to name a few!
