The koi pond sounds like it was a real hit with the kids! We’re glad the house felt clean, updated, and well organized, and that the hot tub was there to help everyone unwind after a day out hiking. We also appreciate the kind words about the pet friendly setup, even though your own pup didn’t make the trip this time. Thanks for the recommendation and for spending part of your getaway with us!

The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The hot tub was lovely, and our dog enjoyed running around in the big backyard. The only negative was that the grass in the backyard was brown. It was lush and green in the listing.

A spacious, clean home, a relaxing hot tub, and plenty of room for your dog to roam made for a comfortable stay. We’re glad the home worked well for you and your pup, and we appreciate you mentioning the difference in the backyard grass from what was shown in the listing. That kind of feedback is helpful for us to keep the listing reflective of the property as it is today. Thank you for staying with us!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and very well maintained. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, and everything we needed was provided. One of our favorite features was the large backyard with the peaceful koi pond, which made the property feel like a private retreat. The location was also excellent—close to both the Redwoods and the beach, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.Chris and Chelsea were outstanding hosts. The location of this place was really great, McKinleyville itself had the necessities, the very cute towns of Trinidad and Arcata are within a 10 minute drive, and the epic redwood parks are about an hour drive. Actually, if you want a quick redwood hit, the Arcata community forest is breathtaking and very close. This place was also really great for our dogs, including a fenced spacious yard.
