Hale Haven - Lake House w/ Hot Tub and Loft
Kick back and relax in this calm, quiet lakefront cottage. This property is newly renovated and ready to hold some of your favorite travel memories. With luxury furniture, a hot tub, a dock for your boat, kayaks, and a fire pit - you and your group are guaranteed a great getaway by choosing our cottage as your home away from home.
Bedrooms & Loft: This property is newly renovated specifically with our guests in mind. Each bedroom includes extra blankets and pillows for comfort and mirrors in all bedrooms to help keep the bathrooms less crowded. Bedrooms are outfitted with blackout blinds so there are no early morning wake ups on vacation. Phone-charging stations are next to every bed so there’s no need to hunt for an outlet late at night!
The primary bedroom features a king bed, Roku television, closet, and en suite full bathroom. This bedroom also includes a sliding glass door that opens up to an outdoor porch great for enjoying your morning coffee.
The second bedroom provides a cozy atmosphere complete with a king bed and spacious closet.
Walking up the stairs to the loft, you’ll be greeted by two queen beds and a beautiful view overlooking Long Lake.
Bathrooms: This property has two full bathrooms with all new fixtures in 2022. The first bathroom is across the hallway from the second bedroom and includes a large shower.
The second bathroom is en suite to the primary bedroom and features an accessible shower.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully stocked with baking sheets, crock pots, ample pots and pans, cutting boards, an air fryer, blender, toaster, and wine glasses for every person in your party.
There’s a coffee maker, filters, and coffee grounds that our guests are welcome to use. The refrigerator has plenty of space and a pull-out freezer.
Living Room: With plenty of seating for the whole family, the living room is a wonderful place to unwind and admire the lake. The comfortable L-shaped couch sits across from a large Roku TV that can be used to sign into any streaming services.
Outdoor Space: Walking out of the sliding glass doors facing the lake, you’ll find the expansive deck. There is an inviting hot tub that was brand new just before 2023. A grill is included which is perfect for a summer barbecue. The deck also includes a live fire pit with bench seating for your whole family. Walking down the stairs toward the lake, you’ll find a dock with a peddle-boat that you’re welcome to use!
Foyer: The first room you’ll enter is a tiled mud-room great for keeping your shoes, coolers, and jackets.
Enjoy the entire cottage and outdoor amenities all to yourself. There is no garage, but there is room for 4 vehicles in the driveway.
I won`t be available in person but you can reach me at any time via Airbnb messaging or phone :) Should you have an emergency both our cleaner and maintenance man live nearby.
Long Lake is an all sports lake with a sand bar on the west end. Boaters in the summer anchor out in the knee deep water and sip on their favorite summer drink while their kids play with the neighbors. There is a bar and grill on the lake that offers pizza and a patio facing the water. Loggers Monument is a short drive away offering great views of the Au Sable river and ample hiking trails for guests. Lake Huron is a 30 minute drive from the cottage - where you can enjoy a night in quaint East Tawas or a day at the sandy beaches in Oscoda. There are boat rentals, side by side rentals, and snowmobile rentals available if you’d like to plan an outdoor activity for you and your group while here as well.
PETS We allow up to 3 dogs of 50lb each, for $75 per pet per stay. At the moment of booking, if you add you bring pets, VRBO will add the first charge to the booking total, and we will request any additional ones. If you want to bring more than 3 dogs or any over 50lb, please send us an inquiry, and we will approve on a case-to-case basis, at $150 per pet.
Per Michigan law - all pets must remain on a leash when outside. Pet waste bags are provided and are to be used - a $50 waste pick-up will be charged if you do not clean up after your pet.
WATER AMENITIES Not available when the dock is winterized, normally November through late April, or early May, depending on the weather!

**PRE-ARRIVAL CHECK-IN (Happy Guest Platform)**
This property requires completion of a brief pre-arrival check-in through a secure third-party platform called **Happy Guest**. This includes:

**1. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY**
Guest must accurately disclose the number of adults, children, and pets in the booking. This number applies to both overnight and daytime visitors. Unauthorized over-occupancy may result in eviction without refund.
**2. NO SMOKING OR VAPING INDOORS**
A $500 fee applies for indoor smoking or vaping. Outdoor smoking is permitted only with windows and doors closed. Guest is liable for odor or residue removal costs.
**3. PET POLICY**
Pets must be pre-approved and disclosed in advance. An Animal Addendum is required for all pets, emotional support animals, and service animals. Unauthorized animals may result in eviction and fees.
**4. DAMAGE POLICY**
Guests must choose between a refundable deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. Guests are responsible for any unreported or excessive damage, missing items, or extra cleaning.
**5. CLEANLINESS**
Guests are expected to maintain the home in a respectful condition and report any cleanliness issues within 24 hours of arrival.
**6. NOISE & QUIET HOURS**
Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 9 AM. Excessive noise or neighbor complaints may lead to eviction.
**7. PARKING**
Parking instructions and capacity are listed in the property description. Unauthorized parking or exceeding the limit may result in fines or towing.
**8. LOCK OUTS / KEYS**
Keyless codes are active during your stay. Lost keys or lockouts may incur up to a $150 fee.
**9. LINENS & SUPPLIES**
Please refer to the listing for what is provided. Only flush septic-safe toilet paper. Plumbing damage due to misuse will be charged to the guest.
**10. ISSUES OR COMPLAINTS**
All issues must be reported immediately and within 24 hours of arrival. Guests must allow the host an opportunity to resolve any problems before requesting outside intervention or refunds.
**11. REHOUSING & REFUNDS**
No refunds or reimbursement will be offered if a guest chooses to vacate the property early or declines offered solutions.
**12. CANCELLATION POLICY**
Our cancellation policy applies regardless of reason. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance.
**13. SUBLETTING / THIRD PARTIES**
No subletting or third-party bookings allowed without prior written approval.
**14. CAMERAS & TECH**
There are no indoor cameras. Outdoor cameras, smart locks, and safety devices may be present and must not be tampered with.
**15. SECURITY**
Guests must secure the home when not present. Entry codes must not be shared with individuals outside the booking party.
**16. ENTRY DURING STAY**
Host or agent may access the property with proper notice. Light cleaning may be scheduled for extended stays.
**17. INTERNET USE**
Illegal or abusive internet use is prohibited. Guest assumes all responsibility for online activity and must secure their own devices.
**18. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS**
Providing false information (age, party size, purpose of stay) will result in eviction and loss of payment.
**19. EXCEPTIONS IN WRITING ONLY**
Any exceptions must be pre-approved in writing by the host.
**20. WEATHER / FORCE MAJEURE**
Extreme weather or acts of God do not warrant refunds. If travel is affected, contact your insurance provider.
**21. TEMPORARY LODGING ONLY**
This agreement does not create a permanent residency. It is a temporary rental only.
**22. EVENTS POLICY**
No parties, gatherings, or events without written host approval. Unauthorized events may incur up to $1,500 in fines.
**23. SIGHT UNSEEN**
By booking, you acknowledge viewing the listing and understand variations in guest experience may occur.

Wonderful Say
We held our annual winter girls weekend at Sarahs property and we were more than pleased with our stay. The location was great, the property was beautiful, and our host was attentive to us if we needed anything. The house had everything we needed for cooking meals. We were within drive to a local bar that had really good food and friendly staff. We would absolutely rent again.

Beautiful Getaway
Absolutely wonderful views of the lake. The color change of the leaves during our stay. The home had everything you could need or want and more. Maybe next time we will take advantage of the pedal-boat and hot tub. I’m already planning a return trip. The host was awesome with any questions and checking in/out was a breeze.

Cute Cottage
My family and I spent Labor Day weekend at this adorable cottage that had everything we needed for our stay! Sarah is phenomenal with her communication. We have rented multiple times before and Sarah is the most responsive owner we’ve ever had! The fishing right off of the dock was so easy and we caught and released bass, sunfish, and perch, the kayaks and peddle boat were so much fun to cruise around the lake in, and the hot tub at night under the string lights was icing on the cake. The beds were incredibly comfortable, even our kids thought they were even more comfortable than their beds at home! We tried a few places for dinner and Mikey’s had the best pizza! Such a fun time at this cute cottage. We will definitely be visiting again :)
