Spring Break with a Break

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a really nice stay here for Spring Break, with 4 generations enjoying the week off, with an unfortunate circumstance of a fall and break that happened. This is no fault of the property at all-just an unforeseen circumstance with someone in our group putting something on the ground and another of the group overlooked it, tripped over it and broke their arm-stayed the whole week-in pain. We loved the property in many ways. It was just less than optimal because we had a member of our group break their arm the first day. Everything was as described and this place has lovely view, very nice pool and hot tub, and is filled with balconies facing east and west so you can watch the ocean and see the sunset over Murell's inlet. The only minor thing is the downstairs common area barely got used and if there were a card table down there, we would have done a puzzle on it because we have a lot of people in our group who love to do puzzles on vacation.

The property is in a wonderful location. I'm sure at one point, the inside of the house was lovely, but it's run down and needs attention (walls/baseboards are dirty, need paint, furniture and carpet need deep cleaning, some bathrooms need updating). The code that was given to us to enter the home didn't work when we got there. The issue was solved by the management and we later found out it was something to do with batteries not working in the lock. Also, one of the bedrooms did not have sheets - this was mentioned to the management company the first time we got hold of them, and they never offered to bring some (so I bought a blanket at target). There was a foldable mattress/bed in a closet that smelled like urine which made that closet unusable. We were there over New Years and so we had issues getting a response from the property manager. The pool was not heated (which we knew in advance) but that detracted from the experience (meanwhile, property next door had a heated pool and they seemed to be having a great time). They had a new hot tub which we were charged extra to use. It was a nice and very clean. The homeowner reduced the price because we decided to use it on the third day, but then it took another 24hrs for it to be warm enough to use (so basically, we paid for the time it took to warm it up and got 2 days use out of it). Overall, I was very disappointed with our stay because there were issues which weren't resolved. Expected more for the money.

Great location but disappointing experience

I thought the house delivered on charm, location and amenities. Where the experience failed was a result of door issues, cleanliness, staff response, etc. I would really like to speak with the owner to make sure they know that the property is not well maintained and the response from Bask Away is not acceptable. I expected much better for the cost of this rental. All items could have been addressed had Bask Away followed up. Very disappointed as this is a great location with much potential. I hope the owner reaches out for a conversation.

Wonderful Family Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 12, aged 2 - 95, had a wonderful stay in this home for our Fall beach trip. The house is well equipped with everything you might need and has a very nice layout for all ages. We all loved the location. We had one minor issue with the internet, but not a big deal (to me!). The pool stayed nice and warm so we played in it all week long and the beach is beautiful at this spot in the off-season. The management company was very responsive and helpful. Thanks for a great time!
