This Charleston style Southern mansion, located just one mile from Pine Manor, has five bedrooms, an old fashioned 5 bed attic bedroom, and 4.5 baths, the 10,000 square foot Oak Manor is the second largest guest house at Pine Manor Estates. It sits on over 10 acres with two private stocked lakes, private movie room, library and man cave with poker table. Enjoy warm Southern Illinois afternoons and cool southern cocktails on the grand porch, time seems to have a way of just slowing down to the perfect pace at Oak Manor.

Oak Manor was the best house we have ever rented - and we have rented many. The whole experience was excellent. The house was spacious. The decor was beautiful. Every kind of amenity was available. Betsy was wonderful in her role as host. We loved the outside porches, caught fish in the ponds and generally had a great time. Please be advised that we are already planning our next trip to Oak Manor!

Staying in a beautiful antebellum home makes you feel like you are in the deep south. It was very clean and the kitchen is appropriately stocked. The grill and back patio overlook a pond. It's a wonderful place to dine out, play games, relax and enjoy the wildlife. Host is very responsive and helpful.

We had the most amazing time here!! Our kids and grands absolutely loved all the amazing amenities, theatre room, the pool, tennis court, the lake with paddle boats and paddle boards and the new arcade topped it all off! This host has literally thought of everything!Bag games, tennis rackets for the court, beach towels and everything you would need and more inside and outside!! We enjoyed sitting/grilling on the patio, relaxing on both the front porch and balcony.. very comfortable seating and plenty for the crew we had!! Communication was very quick from beginning to end. We have already planned on coming back! 10/10!!

Amazing Stay

This property was perfect for a group of college friends and our kids to reconnect. Plenty of space and luxury, not to mention close to the wine trail. We would love to stay again in the future!

An amazing home! The perfect secluded area, but still so close to civilization!! The two lakes right by the house were amazing. The movie room was so nice and we loved the pool area that was just a 1 minute drive away! The massive fridge, deep freezer, and ice maker were huge perks. Also every person had an actual SUPER comfy bed to sleep on. 10/10 super luxurious and resort feels for southern Illinois.

A wonderful property, what you see in the posting isn't just what you get, it is much more than that.Exceptionally well appointed, you aren't missing anything in the kitchen. The huge refrigerator in the garage is great for your overflow of food and beverages, and the ice machine out there is a great benefit as well. The mini fridge by the bar is great to have so you don't need to run back to the kitchen when making drinks.Comfortable furniture, and plenty of tables/table space, especially important for us since we were a group of 11 gamers getting together for a special event, we never packed for a place to setup our games. Outdoors you have a nice view of the entire complex, right on the pound with multiple levels to enjoy the view. A tremendous walking path just steps from the back deck.Betsy is a great host, quick to respond and pleasant to talk with.

Awesome and classy

This is our second time staying at Pine Manor, but our first time in this home. What an awesome home and location! The home is classically decorated but still comfortable for our large family gathering. We Loved having the ice machine to load the cooler for the pool (which is also awesome!).

Wonderful place

We spent three wonderful days at this beautiful house. It was very comfortable, with plenty of room for our entire family, 12 adults and 6 children. There was plenty to do at the location, swimming, fishing, relaxing, as well around the area, horseback riding, parks, wine tasting. The hostess was very friendly and helpful, easy to reach and responding immediately to our needs. We give this location the best rating possible!!

We had a wonderful 3-day stay at this beautiful, spacious property with a group of 12. It was an excellent fit for our group and an ideal home base for exploring Carbondale. Management was always responsive when questions came up.The only thing we found somewhat misleading in the listing is the pool. The pool is not on the immediate property, although it is fairly easy to access once you know where to go. The pool itself is fantastic, and we really enjoyed spending time there. We especially appreciated having the golf cart to shuttle between the house and pool. The one improvement we would suggest is restroom access near the pool.The house was impeccably clean when we arrived and very well stocked with supplies in the kitchen, bathrooms, and throughout. The Jura coffee machine was a particular hit! The outdoor patios and decks were perfect, giving our group plenty of comfortable space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. There was ample parking for all 12 of us.The bedrooms and beds were comfortable and in great shape. A few showers could use a small shelf for toiletries, but there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms would have been nice, but the A/C kept everything comfortable.The location was perfect for us: nicely secluded and peaceful, but still close to town with easy access to Route 13.Overall, a fantastic place for our group. We would happily stay here again and look forward to coming back!

Amazing home in an amazing location

I cannot say enough how wonderful our stay was at Oak Manor. We stayed here for our daughter’s law school graduation and we had 15 family and friends join us. The house was exceptional. So clean and comfortable. We cooked all of our meals together and grilled out on the terrace. The property grounds are wonderful and we spent many hours on the terrace enjoying the views and comfy patio furniture. I loved having my morning coffee on the front porch swing listening to the birds sing. Betsy the property manager was very responsive and very kind in her communication. We all enjoyed the fancy coffee machine and comfortable beds. This property is outstanding and perfect for family get togethers. Every comfort is thoughtfully curated. We could not have had a more wonderful get away in this beautiful home.

It was even better than the pictures

I have nothing but nice things to say about this house and our experience. It was amazing, there were 10 friends staying for a weekend and we had plenty of space and privacy. We planned to cook and hang out and always worry about rental house kitchens not being well stocked with cooking essentials or place settings but it was the opposite, I’ve never been to a vacation property that was this well equipped. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, serving dishes, place settings, flatware, wine glasses and refrigerator space (there’s an extra in the garage!). The spaces in the house were comfortable and clean and gave us lots of opportunities to change scenery (coffee on the porch, breakfast in the breakfast nook, dinner in the dining room, dessert on the veranda). We did have an issue with the lower oven not staying on and I emailed the host, someone was knocking on the door to check on it within the hour. It couldn’t be fixed while we were there, which wasn’t an issue, but the response time was impressive and appreciated. We would definitely return, everything was clean, lovely, and high end. The bathrooms had toiletries, and there was a basket in the entry with extras like big spray and sunscreen to use if you forgot it. The extra touches were thoughtful.

The Estate has upheld the Gibson dream and has provided the perfect setting to reconnect with those around you- all while experiencing classic Southern country culture. Betsy Modglin, Property Manager, has 10 years of experience with Vacation Rentals and has Premier Host status with all of the many properties she manages.
