Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you loved the location and the coziness of the living area, and that you enjoyed the pool and hot tub at the center. That said, we’re very sorry to hear that the bedroom layout, basement conditions, and temperature balance made your stay uncomfortable. We understand how frustrating it must have been to have the basement feel damp, musty, and too cold while the upstairs and loft were warm or hot. Your suggestions regarding air purifiers, improved dehumidification, and better air circulation are helpful and will be shared with our maintenance and management teams for review. We also apologize that the kitchen was not as well stocked as it should have been for your family. Additional spoons, plates, oven mitts, a blender, and a better toaster are all reasonable suggestions, and we will share these with the appropriate team and owner. We’re sorry the downstairs bathroom felt outdated and difficult to use, and that you ended up showering at the aquatic center instead. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention, and we regret that the challenges affected your comfort and sleep during the stay. Your feedback helps us identify where improvements are needed for future guests.

Hi Peggy, Thank you for the 5-Star review! We are thrilled you had a perfect little get-a-way staying with us. We hope to see you again in the future. Sincerely, The Staff at Northern Michigan Escapes

Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Secluded Harbor Springs Condo. We truly appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to learn from your experience. While we are glad to know that you were able to enjoy your stay in Harbor Springs, we are sorry to hear that the stove and oven did not meet your expectations. At Northern Michigan Escapes, we are committed to providing vacation rentals that are not only clean and comfortable but also fully functional and equipped with quality amenities, and we regret that this aspect of your visit fell short. Your feedback regarding the kitchen appliances has already been shared with our property management and maintenance teams. We will ensure that the stove and oven are inspected and serviced promptly, and if needed, replaced so that future guests will have the seamless experience we strive to provide. Despite this issue, we hope you were still able to enjoy the many benefits of staying at the Secluded Harbor Springs Condo. Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear that you found the condo clean, comfortable, and perfect for a restful vacation—good sleep is definitely a must! It sounds like you had a great time enjoying the courts and exploring the beautiful wooded trail nearby. We're also pleased to know that our Northern Michigan Escapes team was helpful throughout your stay. We appreciate your feedback about the kitchen setup and will take it into consideration for future improvements. We're glad it didn't detract from your overall experience, and we hope to welcome you back for more fun and relaxation in the future!

Hi Lauren, Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I see that you contacted us more than half way through your stay. We did offer to come in and verify your concern to rectify any issues, as we haven't noticed anything prior to your arrival. However, you declined our offer. We also offered to provide a partial refund based on rebooking the Condo, should you decide to cancel the last 2 nights of your 7-night stay. However, we never received a response to our offer. Should you decide to visit Harbor Springs again, please contact us directly. We can certainly try to find something that better meets your needs. Sincerely, Northern Michigan Escapes

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. I’m genuinely sorry your stay was frustrating, especially while traveling with a toddler and in below-zero temperatures. That is not the level of service or comfort we aim to provide. You’re absolutely right that check-in information should be delivered on time and in a way that reduces stress, not adds to it. I apologize that you did not receive the access details until after check-in and that you were left waiting after arriving early. While early access depends on cleaning and readiness, we should have communicated clearly and proactively so you weren’t left wondering. I’m also very sorry about the lack of extra blankets during extreme cold. If a unit’s bedding feels too light, we should be able to provide additional warmth or a clear solution immediately. Having you purchase your own blankets is not acceptable. Regarding the coffee machine, I apologize for the repeated failure. Replacing a broken item with another broken one is frustrating and should have been caught before delivery. We’ve flagged this for the team so the unit is equipped with a fully functional coffeemaker and basic essentials are checked before each arrival. We take your comments seriously because they point to specific breakdowns in communication, preparedness, and guest support. I’m sorry we let you down, and I appreciate you calling out the areas that need improvement.

Thank you for your thoughtful review of Harbor Springs Retreat! We’re thrilled to hear that you loved the condo and enjoyed its peaceful wooded setting with trails right outside your door. The location truly offers the best of Northern Michigan—close to the community center with its pool and library, the private beach, and just a short drive to Harbor Springs, Petoskey, and the famous Tunnel of Trees. It’s wonderful that you were able to experience the area’s natural beauty and convenience during your stay. We’re glad our team was able to respond quickly to get the fireplace pilot light going so you could enjoy cozy evenings by the fire. However, we sincerely apologize that the shower curtain issue wasn’t resolved during your visit. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and have already shared your feedback with our maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure better communication and follow-through in the future. At Northern Michigan Escapes, our goal is to provide well-maintained, clean, and comfortable vacation rentals supported by friendly, responsive service. We’re so happy that you enjoyed the location, scenery, and amenities of Harbor Springs Retreat, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon for a flawless Northern Michigan getaway.

Thank you so much for the wonderful five-star review of Harbor Springs Retreat. We are thrilled to hear your long weekend from Kalamazoo gave you exactly the Northern Michigan escape you were looking for. A secluded setting in the woods, plenty of space, nature, and activities for the kids can make a family getaway truly memorable. We are so glad you enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools, the nearby beach, creeks, ponds, nature areas, and easy access to Petoskey State Park. It is also wonderful to know the condo offered plenty of room for your group of seven and that the bunk room was ideal for your boys. At Northern Michigan Escapes, our goal is to provide clean, comfortable, well-maintained vacation rentals with thoughtful amenities, responsive guest service, quality accommodations, and a seamless experience from booking through check-in and check-out. Thank you again for choosing Harbor Springs Retreat and for your kind recommendation.

Hi Robin, We are sorry you feel this way. It is to our understanding that you did make it to your reservation. You had correspondence with our Property Manager throughout your stay. It is in our cancellation policy that there are no cancelations allowed within 60 days of arrival. Partial or pro-rated refunds are not available in cases of weather, lack of snow, poor skiing conditions, health issues, and transportation delays. This is why we strongly advise you do get travelers' insurance in case something does come up unexpectedly, then you might be able to recoup some of your money back. These are privately owned homes and condos and are not hotel rooms that can be easily rebooked. Again, we apologize for any misunderstandings. Sincerely, The Staff at Northern Michigan Escapes
