Loved the ocean front view and outdoor patio. We saw so many whales! Easy access to Chang's beach for swimming, snorkeling and sunset views. The large pools are uncrowded and have great amenities. The grounds are mature and very lush with lots of wildlife viewing. Don't miss sitting in the hot tub around sunset to take in the sound and spectacle of the birds nesting down for the evening in the large tree standing guard overhead.We have stayed at Makena Surf multiple times and this is our favorite unit. Well appointed, clean and unparalleled views. The level entry is helpful for our 80 year old parents as well as loading in and out. The unit is nicely appointed and maintained with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom which is great in offering more sleeping space.The complex is very secure with security entry and staff on site. The property management company is very responsive and helpful.

Absolutely amazing

Definitely worth every penny! The view is breathtaking. The location is perfect. The property is well maintained. The condo has EVERYTHING you need for your stay. Highly recommend especially for families. Very spacious and modern.

Great Vacation

The view from the condo is fantastic. The condo itself is clean, has all amenities and is well taken care of. The property managers are very communicative and responsive. We traveled all over the island and it was nice to always come back to the condo and wake up to the ocean with a coffee in the morning.

Enjoyed our stay

Great, quiet location. Fantastic view in a gated community. Quick response to a door that needed fixing and a coffee pot that needed to be changed out. Place was clean. Only thing to improve is the outdoor umbrella needs to be changed out. It’s rotted with holes and rips all in it. Overall we would easily stay here again.

Great condo in an even greater location

Just returned from a week long stay in this unit. It was absolutely perfect in every way. The location cannot be beat. The unit itself was very clean and had beautiful ocean views. I would definitely stay here again. The only minor annoyance was there are so many units that are under construction that the parking lot is full or workers and their trucks during the day. It can be difficult to find a spot close. The management company should make these trucks park in the further lots rather than force guests to park there.

Fabulous unit and location

We have travelled and stayed in Maui seven times now. This was our first time at Makena a surf and it was amazing. Steps from the beach where you can snorkel with the turtles, oceanfront view watching the sunsets every evening. The unit had everything we needed, two bedroom, two full bath. We really appreciated the two double beds in the second bedroom as most have twin only. The unit was clean, seemed newly renovated and had alll the amenities waiting for us - from lawn chairs, to cooler and pool noodles, We would definitely return and recommend Makena Surf to others.

Incredible Location & Great Management, But Condo Needs Updating

We recently stayed at this condo in Maui and had a memorable trip. The location is absolutely unbeatable—steps from the beach with stunning ocean views, and close to everything in Wailea. The lanai was our favorite spot to enjoy morning coffee and evening sunsets, and the surrounding property was peaceful and beautifully maintained.A big shoutout to the management company Ali’i Resorts!!! They were outstanding! Very responsive, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. They made everything easy and smooth, from booking to check-in to check-out to addressing any questions or issues we had.That said, the unit itself could really use a major update. The unit and furniture is dated and showing wear, and the overall decor feels tired. The kitchen also needs some attention—the utensils are worn out, and the knife block is especially in need of replacement. For the price point and location, a refresh would make a huge difference in comfort and overall experience.With some investment in updating the condo and replacing the furnishings and kitchen tools, this could easily be a five-star rental. Until then, it’s still a great place to stay for the location and management alone—but future guests should know what to expect.

Beautiful condo!

The location is perfect..we loved being able to walk out onto the open grass from the patio and watching the water below. The cove below is perfect for snorkeling and the sandy beach is only a short walk through the complex. The workout facility was quite adequate and only steps away from this unit which was so convenient. We really appreciated the SW facing unit since we were protected from the fierce winds that were blowing through--which were really felt on the sandy beach and on the other side of the complex. Daily whale watching from the patio was spectacular
