You can look for rentals up and down the central California coast, but you will not find a view as breathtaking as this. Waves splash against the rocks and soothe your soul. Sea otters float on the surf providing endless entertainment. Pelicans, seagulls, and cormorants punctuate the sky. A solo whale sales by on the horizon.
You see it all from your own stone patio, and through the panoramic windows, spanning the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The days are peaceful; the sunsets stunning. At night the sky fills with stars, and you can see the light from the historic Piedras Blancas lighthouse.
The house sits atop a rocky shore, so there’s no beach traffic to disturb you, but public beach access is just a few doors away. Cambrians walk for exercise and enjoyment. A walking park is two blocks to the south, the trails of the Fiscalini Ranch preserve begin about a mile to the north, and the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk is two miles up the coast.
Downtown Cambria, with its independent eateries and shops, is over the hill and across Route 1. You won’t find a chain store or restaurant for many miles.
The house was built in the 1960s. The furnishings are old, but a recent remodel turned the kitchen into a gourmet delight and made the master bath spa-like with a luxurious walk-in shower. The hosts are friendly and accommodating.
Choosing this property may be one of the best decisions you make. It’s a little piece of paradise you’ll never want to leave.
