This is a great property! Excellent location close to everything we needed to and wanted to do. Would highly recommend renting from them again. They were extremely responsive when we needed something and went above and beyond to make sure that our state was comfortable!

Great Stay in Carlsbad

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The condo was bright and cheerful. The beds were great. The location a block from the beach and just a few blocks to downtown. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

Wonderful getaway

Nice property, very clean. Well stocked with paper goods and cleaning supplies. Comfortable bedrooms and lounging areas. Could've used a sheet pan for oven items and and a silicone spatula to avoid damaging the non-stick skillets, but otherwise many kitchen items. The property is about a 5 minute walk from the beach as it's in the middle of a cul de sac that has a view but no direct beach access.

Quick Getaway

I just recently stayed here with my family for a quick and short get away. The area was terrific! Close to the beach, shopping, gas station and highway. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed - coffee maker, plenty of bath towels, and cooking utensils as well as storage containers. The beds were very comfortable and the seating for eating was great. My only complaint is the living room furniture could be a little bit more nicer and comfortable. It had two different types of couches in there and it looked a little odd and not very cozy for a family to gather in that room. Other than that, everything was great! We came in at night and the check in was very easy - all you need is a code for the front door. When we woke up and went out to our car we were pleasantly surprised with our view of the ocean.

Zen Retreat was as described and pictured. The location was perfect for morning walks on the beach. Very clean. The beds were comfortable. Had all the amenities we needed. We did not prepare big meals; made light breakfasts and sandwiches for lunch. Suggestion for room without en suite bathroom - use smaller-sized nightstands to give more room around the bed closest to the exterior wall. We rented a car which allowed us to explore San Diego and that we did. We had 1 day of off and on rain but that did not stop us. We went to the Birch Aquarium and La Jolla cove. The aquarium exhibits and demonstrations were excellent. Two places not heard of but worth seeing - Craftsman Museum (free) and San Luis Rey Mission (owner told us it was a must see). There are a multitude of fascinating displays at the Craftsman. The docents are eager to share information and point out the unique features. You can easily spend a day at the museum The California mission dates back to the 1700's and was one of the more prosperous missions of the time. The docent led tours are fabulous in presenting the history, and highlighting the features and attractions. We also went to the SD zoo, Coronado Island, Little Italy, the Old Town Historic Park and Balboa Park. We loved SD and the weather. We would definitely come back again and stay at the Zen Retreat.

The best hosts ever!! This place was a walk away from the beach, very comfortable, and awesome cooking pans highly recommend. We even used the laundry room.

Great place and convenient location to everything in Carlsbad, CA. My only comment would be for the owner to get more comfortable couches or seating in the living room.
