Come, sit back and relax, and then get up and enjoy the water, hills, mountains, river, and history. You will be warm & cozy watching sunsets in front of the fireplace. If you are lucky enough to be here during a storm, there is nothing like experiencing the wind and the waves right on the water. Many things to do locally - run, walk, hike, sightsee - and then off to Astoria, Long Beach, or down the coast for the day.
Chinook is central to both Astoria (Oregon) and the Long Beach Peninsula (Washington) - 7 miles North or South. You can enjoy seasonal activities, such as the Columbia River Crossing, Hood-to-Coast, clam digging, bird watching, Wine Walks, kite flying, and traveling down the Oregon Coast (including Seaside, Cannon Beach, and Manzanita). We offer EV Level 2 charging on-site (kWh fees apply).
Charter fishing can be arranged from Ilwaco (5 miles), from Astoria, or heading south to Lincoln City, Newport, and Depoe Bay.
The home is 3,000 sq ft, four bedrooms, and sits on two very private acres with open land for games, hide-and-seek, or parking. We are situated on the water, offering an unobstructed view to the south, west, and north. The home is custom-designed, unique, and has incredible charm. Think wood, wood, wood - cedar, oak, maple—a very open design for family and friends, yet cozy because of the fireplaces and view.
Waterfront - The West side of the property features over 380 feet of waterfront and unobstructed views of the Columbia River, the Columbia River Bar, and Baker Bay: water, water, water.
Bedrooms - There are two bedrooms, both with King-Size beds: one downstairs and the second upstairs. Two additional bedrooms are located upstairs, each featuring a queen bed.
There are three bathrooms. One full bathroom is located downstairs, next to the living room, and another is situated on the second floor, which has a bathtub but no shower. A 3/4 bath is downstairs just down the hall, next to the laundry room. Additionally, upon exiting the beach, there is an outdoor hot and cold shower available for cleaning up.
Outdoor Enjoyment - A BBQ sits on a huge deck out back, next to the water, and is fantastic for friends and family. Nothing beats just ending the day sitting on the deck watching the sun go down or the Bald Eagles fly over (we had five nesting this year). Our favorite is the feeling of the winter storms rolling in.
Bring your boat - The Chinook Marina slips are just 1/2 mile up the street and have both electricity and water. Unfortunately, sleeping on a boat overnight is not permitted in the marina. You are welcome to dock the boat and park the trailer back at the house—plenty of room.
Access is provided through the front door electronic keypad. You will have your unique key code to ensure simplicity and security.
There are four doors to the outside, allowing you to enjoy coming and going from the front, back, and sides.
The deck is accessible from both the first-floor bedroom and the family room.
