Fun House

Great location to see bears because it is a ways up the mountain. The cabin was fun for our kids with all the games. Property owner was great with communication. Overall we really enjoyed it.

Vacation of a lifetime

We loved the cabin. We loved driving all the way up the mountain. We loved how close it was to the Smoky National Park. The cabin was amazing. Plenty to do for all ages. The adults loved the pool table and the kids loved the arcade games and the theater!!!! We would definitely stay again!

Good place, needs deep cleaning and most of the games didn’t work, hot tub is ancient. Definitely up in the mountains and you will see some bear. All in all a good place and trip.

Cabin has great potential with a little TLC

The location and cabin were great, our only complaint would be the cleanliness of the cabin, underneath the master bed were pieces of what looked the be cubes of gum (not chewed) and a lot of dust and the exterior of the cabin had so many cobwebs/spider webs that have been there for quite some time, that really need to be addressed to make this a perfect cabin, As for the listing stating Mountain View’s, that is not true, this is a cabin in the woods.

Great accomodations for the price

This cabin was perfect for us. We traveled with our family of 4 plus two Grandmas. The downstairs was perfect to give the Grandmas their own space at the end of the day. Loved seeing the bears. For the price we paid we couldn't ask for more.

Nice experience and get away.

Needed more attention on the floors being moped due to dirty or black feet, couldn’t go barefooted. Also there’s a lot of cobwebs on all levels of the front and back porch. Other than that we had a great time and kids did as well with the proved games.

We had a fantastic experience. The one and only downside are the stairs. Both sets of stairs going to the additional bedrooms are very small spiral staircases. Other than that, the cabin was fantastic!

Cozy cabin

Cabin is beautiful location was a bit further up the mountain than I thought but awesome. 3rd bedroom was more or less in a basement along with the home theatre which was not expected. Listing said 2 bedrooms with extra bed upstairs in the game room. Overall stay was nice and cozy. Great feedback from property management.

Nice stay, needs some improvement

We had a great stay. The beds were comfortable and was plenty of room. The only thing that would have made it better would have been having paddles for air hockey with the padding on the bottom. Also having chalk for the pool table. The property manager was great if we had a problem such as with the internet like we did they were willing to help right away. I think the most exciting part though was having bears come right up to the cabin! Not too horrible of a drive to pigeon forge or Gatlinburg. The roadways are really steep though. We were happy that the parking for the cabin was a flat surface. Overall we had a great time.

Not what we expected

We had a good time, but there are definitely pros and cons to staying at this place. We would not stay again due to the various issues. Pros- great view, management responded quickly when we sent them texts Cons- place was filthy (needs at least 2 days to be deep-cleaned, pictures in listing do not match the actual cabin (different couch, kitchen table, theater chairs, etc), one of the games was broken and could not be fixed, projector was broken and could not use theater room at all

The biggest disappointment

I rented this place because it said it had a Mountain View, The pictures that they used to get people to rent this cabin don’t represent the view there. I have never left such a bad review in my life. I usually can see the best in everything. I would of never rented this cabin if I knew the view it had (none), the only reason someone would rent a cabin in the mountains is for the view, otherwise you would stay on ground level in the woods. I feel the photos they used was so deceiving on their part and I’m not sure I will use Vrbo again!!! This was just so wrong on their part. It’s like a bait and switch or fraud !!

Great time with only minor issues

The cabin was super nice. We enjoyed our time at the cabin. However we thought it would be a little morw cleaner. There seem to be a lot of con webs every. We also had Internet issues which was no big deal till we went to use the movie theater. It was unable to connect. Notified the manager and they quickly responded and sent tech out. Tech could not fix issue so we was unable to use theater. Again these were all minor issues and we still enjoyed our stay tremendously.

Cool cabin

We got stuck a couple days in the cabin. It had everything in it to keep us entertained so it didn’t bother us! Lots of games and the theatre room was cool. Some of the games didn’t work, however. It was a little dirty, just needs a good deep clean. Scrambled eggs were left in the dishwasher and the dishes were dirty and had to wash them. A sponge would have been helpful to wash the dishes to get them clean. It is a very long (2.5ish miles) up the mountain which was a little scary. But overall, I don’t regret this cabin. Our 9 year old and 14 year old were entertained.

Before booking and after reading reviews, I took into account I have 5 kids of my own, so a little dust and messy is ok. This property was filthy. Dust, trash, and random things under beds became the joke of the long weekend. Luckily, we are a "well, whatever" kind of family. Getting to the cabin was fun (some say scary). We anticipated the steep accent, made it fine. Oncoming motorist were kind enough to share the tiny roads. Cabin was stocked nicely for pots, pans, essentials (my average rating). The bears visiting was a highlight! My biggest hangup was the pictures do not reflect what you get. The main living room couch is not a sectional. My hubby said, " pretty sure my great aunt had this couch and loveseat". The theater room is not recliners as listed in the pictures. They are sticky, peeling stadium seats that have probably not been cleaned or cared for since my birth. We had issues with the wifi, special instructions from Angie, were incorrect. You know, i could type a diatribe on our stay. However, we made the most of it. Just want everyone to know, its really dirty. Some games do not work, and the only quiet space is the game room. If you were a previous guest and missing your house shoes, they are still under the bed.

Never again

My wife and I couldn’t decide on what score to leave, so we compromised – we’re leaving the 3-star she thinks it deserves but I’m the one leaving the review (with her proofreading approval). One positive - the staff were responsive. Maintenance guy was cool even late on Saturday night and office staff answered phone calls promptly. Now, that’s nearly everything I have to say that’s positive, everything else is negative: • Wifi password sent in email was out of date. • Upstairs bath sink was nearly completely clogged. • Upstairs bath toilet seat was loose (serious pet-peeve about sitting down & slewing to the side). • Washing machine was seriously slimed and nasty. • Overall the inside was just filthy – dirt and spider droppings, seriously dusty headboard, downstairs theatre floor filthy & small dirty stadium seats vs large comfy chairs shown in listing, filthy air vents. • Overall the outside was trashy, previous hot tub cover just tossed into the woods. • Kitchen was dirty – we had to clean it and most of the pots before use. • Hot tub on back deck never got used – the rest of the place was so filthy we didn’t trust the water/steam. • At least half the video games were broken or so very close to it that they weren’t really enjoyable. • A ceiling fan light couldn’t be shut off (had to unscrew light bulbs). • The front porch light wouldn’t go out, light in my eyes all night on the sofa. In all a huge disappointment, it needs serious cleaning & some maintenance.

Some good some bad

Unfortunately the cabin was very disappointing. The pictures on the listing did not match the cabin we stayed in. I was really looking for a cabin with a view of the mountains, which this cabin does NOT have. Even though that is what is advertised .The listing shows a movie theater room with big recliner like seat again we did not get what was pictured, we get basic fold plastic chairs with small pad. We were planning on having a movie night but my husband and I couldnt sit in thoes chairs for very long. To get to the basement you had to go outside so I wasnt comfortable letting my kids sleep down there so we were unable to use one of the beds as it was located in the detached basement ( not noted in the add). I did find a pull out sofa in the living room but there were not extra sheets blankets or pillows. Again not the orginal sofa from the listing. The video games were a nice touch but not all of them work. We made it work but it wasnt the best. I feel the pictures in the add need to updated and accurate. It seems like a bait a switch to me!

Great cabin and location

The location of the cabin was exactly what we were looking for, in the woods and just secluded enough. We even saw a mamma bear and her cubs right in the driveway/parking spot by the front porch! The listing of the cabin had some minor differences, such as the movie room having stadium seating chairs and not recliners- but nothing major. The cleanliness of the cabin was questionable. I was hoping that the reviews I had read about the cabin cleanliness had been addressed. Very, very dusty. Dust on the floors, table tops, window sills, window blinds, light fixtures, wall coverings. If you have any dust allergies I’d recommend not staying here. Stained mattress cover in the master bedroom. Bath towels smelled musty. Pieces of litter on the outside of the cabin, a discarded hot tub cover in the back of the cabin. Cobwebs everywhere on the outside. Multiple burned out lightbulbs inside, dirty windows, and old beer bottles left out from the prior renters. The cabin itself needs a major deep cleaning. However we did not let that ruin our stay.. we washed the sheets and blankets, wiped down main surface areas with disinfectant wipes, and cleaned the silverware and dishes that we intended on using. Great location, great cabin…. aside from the lack of cleanliness. Would we go back and rent from the same company/person - probably not.

Listing needs to be updated

We’ve rented dozens of VRBOs and this rental was a huge bummer. We felt duped by the photos vs. reality. What other reviewers have said about cleanliness proved to be very true. (I had optimistically hoped management read and responded to those reviews.) First, the pictures are old and do not represent the house today. My family had been so excited for the theater room. Those recliner theater seats weren’t there; they’ve been replaced with stiff, auditorium chairs. We stayed out of that room entirely. It’s musty and basically an arcade graveyard…creepy. Most of the games upstairs don’t work either. My kids were geared up for air hockey but there was no puck. I’d been excited to enjoy the hot tub with views of the mountains and trees. The hot tub was nice and worked well, but the trees and vines are so overgrown around the house, there’s no sight beyond them. (I get that it’s hard to trim trees on a mountainside.) It's a long, uphill trek to get to this house so I hoped the views would be commiserate. The furniture pictured in living/kitchen areas is not what's there either. The ceiling fan in the master is on it's last leg and so so loud. Save for a single, 1-qt pot in great condition, the cookware was unusable. There were 3 skillets of the approximate same size (6-8”) completely stripped of Teflon. We bought some foil to cover the small, flimsy, dirty, rusty baking sheet and mostly relied on the grill. (Note to future renters: the grill is like one you’d find at a campsite.) The oven is filthy. The baking dishes needed to be washed to be useable but they’re there and in good shape! The grossest discoveries came at the end of the stay when I went to use the washing machine (with the single pack of detergent provided) to find a very thick layer of mildew all around the rubber seal. When we stripped the bed upon check out, I discovered blood and urine stains on the mattress pad cover. The pillows were old and yellowed. The mattress seems to be ancient. Zero support. Left with back ache. I wrote to the manager about this on check out day for the sake of future guests and to let her know that all the trash in the driveway (cigarette butts, condiment packets, plastic lids, etc) was there when we arrived. She sent a note back, addressing the pots & pans problem so that may be resolved for future renters.
