Cabin on Columbine Lake - Large deck - Hot Tub/Views - 1 mile to Purgatory

NOTE: 4WD/AWD required in winter with snow tires (Thanksgiving through late March). Chains can be rented in the neighborhood for $30/day.

Our cabin features 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms sits on 1.2 acres and is located above Columbine Lake with a private hot tub and an awesome wrap around deck to enjoy the views.

Just 1 mile from Purgatory Ski Resort and 25 miles from historic downtown Durango, the cabin offers privacy and seclusion and awesome wrap around decks off both levels of the cabin with views of Engineer Mountain, Spud Mountain and of course Columbine Lake. The lower deck features a private hot tub and seating while the upper deck has an outdoor dining table (seating for 6) and a gas BBQ Grill.

The cabin features a second living space downstairs (with a TV), WIFI, washer/dryer, 2 car garage, and a recently remodeled, fully stocked kitchen. In summer and fall, there is a trail down to Columbine Lake (while beautiful, the lake is not stocked, so there is not fishing in the lake).

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

The house was great. My only complaint at all was the bedding. It had a terrible odor. Maybe as if it hadn’t been used or washed in a very long time. I would recommend bringing your own pillows.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was nice and well stocked and the view from the deck is amazing. A couple of things we found that were not great was the bed is terribly uncomfortable, somehow it is too soft and too hard at the same time. You sink down but the top layer is hard and we had a tough time getting comfortable. You also have to make sure and give the door on the refrigerator an extra push to get it closed every time. Glad we noticed it on day one so nothing was ruined. Overall the cabin is great and we loved the location. It was clean and the hot tub was a wonderful way to wind down in the evening.

Stunning property and perfect location to visit the area

Absolutely loved our stay here. We used this as our home base to visit Durango, Ouray, and Silverton. The property views are stunning and the amenities are perfect. The owners allowed us to bring our dogs, which we are so grateful for because we love to travel with them and spend our days outside exploring and hiking. This was our anniversary trip and we fell in love with the area, so we will definitely be back!

Quiet Woods Retreat

Great getaway, perfect for skiing!

The cabin is great, super warm and really spacious. We loved how close it was to the ski resort. The Kitchen had all the essentials and the complementary toiletries were great. You will definitely need an AWD vehicle for winter but we were able to get in and out pretty easily. Overall a great stay! We would love to go back next year.

Elopement retreat

The house was perfect for what we needed, beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. We were able to have a small family dinner (discussed with extremely responsive hosts first of course!) on the large porch with spectacular views of the lake and mountains beyond, including the one we hiked for our private elopement that weekend. The home was clean, and the lower level space was a great bonus area for my niece and nephew to safely play while we cooked.

Perfect location with amazing views!

My fiancé and I stayed with our 2 dogs at the end of October and it was the perfect fall getaway. The house had everything we needed and the views were amazing. We enjoyed the easy access to trails nearby and my fiancé enjoyed fishing on the lake. It was a very easy check in and out process and the house was very clean. We loved getting to take our dogs and were so glad they were pet friendly! Could not recommend the property enough as well as Vacation Rental Collective. Will definitely be booking with them again!

Peaceful Paradise

Everything about the property met or exceeded our expectations from the peaceful mornings to the starlit skies. We saw 3 shooting stars, a beaver swimming along the shoreline, and most spectacular of all were the three young bald eagles who swooped in 3 separate times to secure a dinner. We hated to leave but took our memories home with us!

Purgatory Ski Trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was incredible and the view was even better. Being only a few minutes from the Purgatory ski resort was extremely convenient. Highly recommend this place.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view from the deck is great. We used the grill a couple times and generally just relaxed out there. Very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of purgatory while being right nearby.
