Check out Jockey's Ridge and the Wright Brothers National Memorial. For more water fun, head to H2OBX Water Park or go kayaking, surfing, parasailing, or jet skiing. The best location!

This house was perfect for our 2025 beach week. A very short walk to the beach and to a couple of our favorite restaurants. The pool and hot tub were perfect as well as the fenced in backyard for our dogs safety. We will definitely book again!

Pretty good

A great beach house, easy walk to the beach. The hot tub needed to be drained and cleaned on the first day. The kitchen utensils and beach gear all had rust, maybe could use an update. Beds were sort of hard but they were fine. A lot of stairs so definitely keep in mind if you have mobility issues, we really enjoyed our stay!

Great Location

The house was a very well maintained home, outfitted comfortably, and in a great location. The fenced in backyard was nice for our 2 dogs, who also loved the short walk to the beach, and nice neighborhood to take walks. Perfect fall vacation!

Would come back!

Location was great and having the private fenced in area was great for the dogs. Home was clean and everything worked. Wish we had access to some of the amenities that other reviewers mentioned they liked (example: beach equipment, early check in). We would have paid for those types of upgrades if we had the chance. Planning to stay here again!

5 ⭐ all day long

This was the best vacation we ever had! OBX is amazing and the house was great! It was clean when we arrived and you could NOT have a better location. We were there when the temperature reached the upper 90s (even 100 degrees) and the beach was so close (min walk) and the pool was the perfect temperature to cool off in the heat. Due to the extreme heat (even at night) we didn't really use the hot tub but given the right temperature I'm sure it would have felt amazing as well!! It had a fenced in backyard which was great for my dogs (they had just as much fun as we did). I do have a couple of suggestions which are not deal breakers and would not change my mind at all about staying here again. My suggestion would be to leave some more paper towels, garbage bags, and dishwasher tabs at the house. We had a family of 10 staying for an entire week and we were only left with one paper towel roll, 3 garbage bags and 3 dishwasher tabs. For a large group like this that just was not enough and I had to go to the store to purchase some so we could throw away our garage and wash our dishes (obviously being on vacation nobody wants to waste time washing dishes by hand). But, Walmart was literally right down the road so it was not a huge deal. But, as I said before these are suggestions that would not prevent me from staying here again. We have actually already started talking about staying here again next summer!! We can't wait to get back to OBX and we would definitely stay in this house again!! You honestly can't beat it! This is a 5 star place all day long!!!

Great spot for a family trip

My family had a nice stay at this home. Couldn’t ask for a better location, right across the bridge and a block from the beach. The new-looking flooring is lovely and the en suite bathrooms are so handy. We felt that the house could use a few small improvements. (Mainly, it’s in need of more cutlery but we fully recognize some might have walked off or accidentally been tossed earlier in the season. Also, a few bathroom sinks drained super slowly.) These aren’t dealbreakers but it’d make for an even better stay if they’re addressed.

Great location and layout

Found this to be a great property to stay at. Perfect location, nice layout for spending time with family. Good view of ocean waves from balcony. Lots of extras good for staying with kids if you have them. Stairway carpets have some stains but that's only a minor flaw. Otherwise quite clean. Backyard was very useable with only a few stickers which didn't seem to get stuck in my dog's paws.

It was nice everyone had their own room and bathroom. The carpet is gross and hardwood or tile might be easier to maintain. Several electrical issues with fixtures, different light bulbs in a fixture, not working or flickering like the place might burn down. Hot tub and pool were awsome. Cookware what you expect in a rental.

Straight up a great week.

Straight up with a twist is in a perfect location. On a quiet side street and Beach access is a 1-2 minute walk. Also, walking distance to Duck Donuts, ice cream, pizza, etc. I enjoyed my morning walks with the grand-littles. The pool was a plus after being on the beach all day. Even though we hauled all of our beach supplies, the house was fully stocked with plenty of beach and pool supplies. I only have one suggestion, add a keurig in the kitchen for your all day coffee drinkers. Communication was great during the rental process. The house was clean and perfectly ready when we arrived. Overall, our family had a great week. I would stay here and book through Vacasa again.

Dirty house, good location

Located one block away from beach. Yard was poor quality, dogs would get cactus spurs in fur. Upon walking in noticed a big cockroach in one bedroom. Sand on all downstairs couches . Beds were hard as a rock. Kids bedroom downstairs didn’t come with sheets on it. House has nice potential very big but was dirty. Furniture very old and out dated. The tv in bedrooms are like 15 inch screens

Could use some updates

Location and layout were great! There were a few minor issues! Upstairs bathroom needs maintenance ASAP. The AC is leaking and there’s mildew and mold dripping onto the floor. The air filter was disgusting which is terrible for air quality in a usual humid location. The light bulbs needs changed in all the bedrooms, especially the back left. The second level deck to the left, the banister needs checked. I was terrified to have my kids leaning on it as it’s shaky. Outside of that the house was clean, it was the perfect size for our family. Hot tub and pool were great. Loved the fenced in yard which is great for dogs and kids. The walk to the beach was perfect with small children.

Great Location, Poor Cleaning Staff & Management

The house is in a great location, less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and with a pool, but it definitely needs some maintenance. The carpet was VERY dirty and either needs a deep clean or to be replaced. The couches are very worn and the kitchen and bathrooms needed a more thorough cleaning. Additionally, we arrived and one of the sheets was ripped. We needed a replacement and reached out to the management service (which is a corporate number that then needs to reach out to the local team) and it took me reaching out to them several times and three days to get us a new sheet. This is not a reflection of Vrbo but rather than management company of the house. Going forward, if we ever book a property again I will ensure that it is not managed through Vacassa.

Not what we thought

The home appeared to be well maintained and cleaned, but it is based on dated photos. The reality is this home needs some TLC. First and foremost they charge a pet fee, but based on the condition of the carpet and furniture I do not know how they could ever hold any renter responsible for damages. We have rented properties all over the country from other rental companies and have never seen properties in this condition even in other countries. The carpets need replacing, the furniture upon first look appears to be covered in black mold, but it is due to the severe wear on the cushions. The yard needs work as well. The backyard has a large amount of sand spurs, so if you have a dog, you will spend a large amount of time picking these out. The review will not allow me to post pictures to reflect any of these issues.

Great location, lackluster amenities

The location, beach access and house layout were great. We did find beach equipment that was supplied. The kitchen amenities were below standard and very basic in what it offered. The pans were all small sizes that were scratched up and should not be used. For a large family it made it very difficult to prepare meals. It was very nice to have a pool, however the yard is not maintained. The grass was all pinching weeds. Even the dogs were not able to walk on it and paws kept getting pinched. We brought yard games to play and it pouches kept sticking to the ground. The park grill has seen better days, we wanted to grill out a couple of nights but decided not to use it. The outdoor shower had zero water pressure, you are better off using the one at the beach.

Location was perfect!

This home exceeded our expectations for location. I was fearful it would be too busy based on what I could see on the map but it was just right. So close to the beach and shopping and dining of all kinds. This was our first stay in Kitty Hawk and we were pleasantly surprised. We did not bring our furry kids but this location is super dog friendly and we would definitely return and bring them.

Great location & amenities but in need of a deep clean

My friend and I got a deal on this place for a 3-night stay after Labor Day. For the money is was a bargain to get so much house, a block from the beach with a hot tub and pool. There is a public access parking lot right next door so I imagine during peak summer hours the beach would be quite crowded but for us it was wonderful. I did bring my dog, who initially loved the fenced in back yard until he got a sandbur (google for images if you are not familiar) stuck in his paw bed that we had a heck of a time removing. Upon further inspection the backyard is COVERED in these things. I spent an hour pulling the ones I could find and didn’t come close to getting them all. I can’t imagine children being able to play safely in this yard. My dog, friend and myself got stuck with sandburs several more times throughout our stay. The house was sanitary when we arrived. Linens and towels were clean and surfaces seemed freshly wiped down. But looking closer the house is in need of a good, deep clean. The HVAC air filter was in desperate need of a change, noticeable piles of dust on fan blades and curtains and the carpets need a professional cleaning. The furniture is older and shows wear but that is somewhat expected in a place that allows pets. Overall, for the price we paid, we were happy with the property, the location and the amenities provided. If we had been staying for longer and paying premium summertime rates I think we might’ve felt differently.
