Had a wonderful stay at So Serene. The house was as shown in the pictures and had everything we needed. Great views from every room, spectacular snorkeling straight out from the beach and proximity to Rum Point. We enjoyed the hot tub and screened in porch. There were ample beach towels and a cooler for a day trip. The host was very responsive, check in was easy and everything was clean. We would definitely come back!

This home is perfect, right on the edge of the Caribbean Sea with world-class snorkeling right out the door. The location at Rum Point was perfect, allowing our family to recharge without too many distractions but fantastic dining and entertainment just down the street. We loved the sitting areas inside the home looking out over the ocean - perfect place to enjoy the sunrise while enjoying a coffee and peace.

It was more than any of us expected! The house was magnificent in every way! It was clean, walk-in ready AND THE VIEW!!!! WOW!!!!!! This home has THE most comfy beds ever. We loved cooking together in their huge kitchen, loved that the owner’s supplied games & we all enjoyed reading books from the owner’s library. We were also surprised how much fun it was walking to Rum Point to experience tropical drinks & to taste Cayman cuisine anytime we wanted. We had the time of our lives! We laughed constantly, saw all the wonders Cayman offers(and there were many), and we will forever cherish the many treasured moments we shared together in Paradise❤️ Highly recommend adding this to your Bucket List!

The view of the ocean was spectacular and was featured from almost every room of this beautiful home. The main living area was quite large, with multiple gathering areas. The water views are beautiful. We stayed six nights. Almost every day was started with a breakfast on the screened in porch. Karen was very responsive to all my questions. The activity and restaurant suggestions all proved to be very helpful. Roy was so quick to respond to a couple of repairs that it didn't impact our stay...much appreciated! We loved the quiet North side of the island with easy access to Rum Point and Kaibo beaches. The villa was very well structured for 3 couples. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare several meals. A cooler was available for us to pack a picnic for an evening boat excursion. This was a great home base for a very memorable family trip.

Cayman Holiday

Location is fantastic if you like to snorkel. Home is close to Rum Point and an easy walk down the beach. We had a good bit of rain (early June stay) but were told by the locals that it was unusually rainy. Be sure to try Tukka and Check In restaurants.

Perfect stay

We visited for New Year’s holiday and had a wonderful time. The home was even better than we expected. It has a wonderful beach and plenty of room. We were a family of four with two teenagers, and the layout for us was perfect. We really enjoyed the proximity to Rum Point and Kaibo. It was a beautiful home and we hope to stay there again.

Great Property, exactly as described!

This is a great location away from the bustle of 7 mile beach. It's a very spacious house, lots of area for the 3 bedrooms, so you can have your extended friends and family with you and not feel crowded. The house is well equipped and has everything we needed for our stay. If you are looking for a luxurious property away from all the tourist traffic, this one is a great choice.

Our stay at So Serene could not have been more perfect. The house is lovely, spacious, beautifully appointed, and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Having a screened porch overlooking the ocean was perfect, we spent every day there. The location overlooking the beach provides stunning ocean views and felt extremely private, we only saw one or two people walking along the beach in that location. We enjoyed snorkeling along the reef right in front of the house, and enjoyed the warm hot tub on the terrace. Any questions or needs that we had before and during our stay were responded to instantly. We would highly recommend this first-class residence to anyone visiting the Caymans!

The So Serene property is beautiful and the 2 min walk to Rum Point could not be better.CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER ACCESS: The host notes "may" have issues w/ seasonal Saragassum. (free floating seaweed/macro algae) During our stay the seaweeds decomposition made the 1st 20 ft of water on the shoreline look like coffee, smelled very bad and attracted a lot of mosquitos, we could not sit on the beach chairs near the water at all. Do your research...POOL: there isn't one, they offer support via a property 35 MIN AWAYWIFI: if it works, it's great, if it's doesn't....you're not working away from home. There's only 3G on the island and you can barely have a phone conversation much less use wife from your phone. Ours was down for 2 days, people in an out of the property trying to fix it and asking us to keep checking our tech to see if it was working.HOT TUB: was 1/2 empty when we arrived, Mgt had a tech out and fixed a day later.We left after 2 days because our focus for the trip was direct access in our backyard to the beautiful waters in Grand Cayman.

Perfect getaway

This is a beautiful villa in an ideal location, on the quiet north shore of Grand Cayman within easy walking distance to the Rum Point Beach Club.The size and layout of the house was perfect for our family of 5, with the children getting their own suites with adjoining bathrooms. The house was clean and the accommodations were very comfortable. And we loved the view!Check-in process went smoothly and we had no trouble communicating with the caretaker for whatever little questions came up. Highly recommended!

We were impressed with how quiet the location is. We decided to try a house instead of a resort and it paid off. With two active teens, we did plenty of excursions but they really loved "chillin" on the porch. The breeze is constant and its always pleasant. The Seaweed and rocks at the beach are a bit of an obstacle, but we still snorkled a ton and saw some great things! if you aren't a morning person, you are missing out on INCREDIBLE sunrises! Overall, a great family getaway. Pack masks and fins!

The house is clean and comfortable. Tons of books to enjoy. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and dining in. The property manager was very responsive. The only possible downside is how far it is from most restaurants, but we just stayed in!

This is our second visit to Rum Point and would not consider staying anywhere else! The view is spectacular! The snorkeling directly from our beach is extraordinary and makes considering an expensive excursion totally unnecessary. We saw and swam with sea turtles, stingrays, a nurse shark, cuttle fish, lion fish, flounders and a countless variety of other fish – all right off our patio. Another popular destination (that costs nothing!) Starfish Point is just over a mile from So Serene. Pack some towels, water, and snorkeling gear and get there early to avoid a full parking lot and crowds to see the starfish.So Serene has a well-equipped kitchen, loads of dining seating (two large tables: one indoors, and one on the screened in porch), three wellappointed bedrooms and bathrooms with a convenient half-bath off the entry. Prepare to arm wrestle for the enormous Master Suite, and its incredibly spacious walk-in shower/room (two wall showers and a rainfall shower head).Our sons particularly enjoyed access to sea kayaks and the hot tub. Everyone benefitted from the large living area and couches galore.Convenient location and quiet surroundings, thus aptly named So Serene.Exceptional and friendly communication with the rental agent and the property manager.

Beautiful home, Excellent location

North side / Rum Point location was exactly what we were looking for, very peaceful, beautiful views and out-the-back-door access to the beach and great snorkeling. Centrally located to lots of activities. Many boat charters pick up nearby at Kaibo which was very convenient. House was clean, sizable for our family of six, but cozy at the same time. My wife absolutely loved the master suite vibe. Soft/comfortable beds. Kids loved the place and access to the beach. Owners were extremely responsive, and were incredibly helpful / flexible when we had airline issues impacting our arrival / departure. Bring your own shampoo/soap, etc

Wonderful stay in Rum Point

The villa is very comfortable, clean and well stocked. It is located in the very quiet and secluded neighborhood, away from 7 mile crowds and traffic. We had a slight issue with the air conditioning in the main area, and it was resolved within an hour of calling the property manager. Roy was great and very helpful. We have thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, the sunroom and main area. Our only suggestion would be to update the mattress in the master bedroom. The old mattress is not very comfortable.

"So Serene" really is so serene.

A beautiful home in a peaceful, tranquil part of a stunning island. My family and I - my wife, my brother and sister-in-law and 2 kids had a lovely stay at "So Serene". The house was large and perfect for this amount of people - plenty of beds and lots of room to spread out. The views from the home over the Ocean are spectacular - visible from every window and so calming. Likewise, the beach that the home backs up to was so quiet and peaceful. It was lovely to sit on the beach chairs at the end of the day and just listen to the Ocean. The location was the perfect balance between being away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown while still having easy access to all the necessities - groceries etc and some great restaurants. Definitely one of my favorite places to stay to date. We're already planning our return trip!

Beautiful!

The house, location and hot tub were amazing. We stayed during high seaweed season which was a little different but if you go out snorkeling beyond the seaweed it’s amazing.( also it did not stink like other parts of the island). We saw stingray, schools of squid , tons of fish, giant lobsters etc.. starfish point is close for great sunsets but we took a ton of pics on our own beach too. It’s quiet, beautiful and has a pleasant wind. The rooms in the house are huge with a couch bed in each; my kids didn’t want to leave. We cooked almost every night, played cards at the dining table, played music on the speakers and utilized the hot tub several times a day. I highly recommend this house if you are looking for a splurge for a fun family vacation. Also botanical gardens and stingray city are definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

My family has been making sweet memories at Rum Point in Grand Cayman for over 45 years. Our permanent home is in Kentucky, USA. My sister, Anita Miller, and I own and operate So Serene and Moon Glow next door.

When our parents first visited Cayman, they were brought to Rum Point by boat and there was no internet, technology, A/C or modern conveniences. Our fondest memories are of discovering the sea, game nights, reading books, and making new friends. We have seen lots of developments on the island, persevered though hurricanes, rebuilt, and always strived to be a thoughtful neighbor and help others who live full-time on the island.

Cayman really is a special place, especially the Cayman Kai/Rum Point area. We are delighted that you are considering a stay with us or have already made a reservation. Why So Serene for us?

When our family first discovered Cayman in the 1970's, our first vacation villa in Cayman was a 2 bedroom timeshare unit at the old Cayman Kai Resort. A number of years later, our parents purchased the current property and in 1991 designed and built So Serene. In 2000, we purchased the villa next door, Moon Glow.

This particular stretch of beach on the oceanside has always been special. While the sands shift, heading towards Rum Point to the west, there is a nice, clear area to walk free of coral and iron shore line. Also, the swim to the reef is easy to make and the marine life is incredible. All of the waters in front are apart of a protected marine park; so, it is like you are swimming in your own tropical aquarium. Do not be surprised to see sting rays, lobster, schools of fish, octopus, and crabs.

So Serene is the closest, rented oceanside villa to Rum Point. Along the road, it only takes 5 mins. to reach one of the most enjoyable areas on the island with lots to do.

When enjoying a stay at So Serene, you can pick a spot on the west side of the sundeck. From here, at just the right time, you can watch the moon rise over the sea and the sun set behind you. It is truly amazing. And, every clear morning, no matter where you sit, the sun rising over the sea looking eastward is so beautiful and a great way to begin each day.
