Come and enjoy our newly renovated home, sitting on a two-century farm in beautiful Shady Valley. The home was originally built in 1954, and is located on highway TN-91 with immediate access to "the snake”. It is also centrally located to multiple attractions, nature areas, and entertainment venues, including the Appalachian trail, VA Creeper trail, Doe Mountain Recreation Area, South Holston Lake, Bristol Motor Speedway, Bristol Casino, and Watauga Lake. Gatlinburg, TN and Boone, NC are also within a short drive from the home, along with multiple other attractions that are too numerous to list. Featuring 4-bedrooms and 2-bathrooms, the home can sleep up to 10, and will allow for a peaceful relaxing stay.
The home has 3-bedrooms with queen size beds and 1-bedroom with 2 twin beds. The room with the 2 twin beds also features a TV and gaming system, making it a perfect fit for children. There is also a queen pull-out couch in the living room. The home has two full bathrooms, a large kitchen, laundry room, and a very spacious living room. Come enjoy the mountain views and valley landscape from the front porch or back yard. The large yard is perfect for outside games and cookouts. You can enjoy the red and green apple trees, pear tree, and grape vine in the backyard during fruit season. You may even spot deer enjoying the fruit in the early morning and evening during this time. There is plenty of space for parking your bicycles, boats, motorcycles, and ATVs in the driveway. We are a short walking distance away if you should need anything at all.

We had a great time staying at the house which is extremely nice and the view around is beautiful. Sits in the middle of a valley with mountains around the entire house. This was our 2nd year here and plan on going back next year. Great people to rent from as always!

Men’s Retreat

We all enjoyed our stay at the beautifully remodeled home. We enjoyed being in Shady Valley away from a lot of traffic. Owners were excellent and had everything we needed for our stay. Can’t say enough good things about it! Will be trying to book again for next year.

Spacious and comfy

This house was great! It had tons of room and the sunroom was my fave! We didn't spend much time at the house, just slept there and ate breakfast, but it was close to our event. I will certainly book it again for next year!

Weekend retreat

We had a wonderful time staying at the Shady Lane Farm Homestead in Shady Valley, Tenn. The house was very clean and welcoming. The check in and out process very easy. We were in the area for a long weekend of relaxation and visiting family in the area. We had 7 adults and this was a perfect place for our weekend. We will definitely choose Shady Lane Farm for our future visits. Thank you to the property managers, Joe and Ashleigh for such a great weekend!

Five star getaway!

From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we enjoyed every minute in this lovely home. Everything was just as described but with some bonus extras -- Christmas trees and decorations throughout! We had room to spread out, plenty of dishes for our Thanksgiving meal, and the weather even allowed us time in the sunroom! Lot of fun things to do within 30 minutes and there's reading material if you want to relax. Updated bathrooms were beautiful and the cleanliness throughout was so appreciated. Just an overall great experience!

Perfection!

The house was spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed the mountain views from the front and rear of the house. The lightning bugs put on a show every evening. Even though there were many motorcycles in town to ride ‘The Snake’ we barely heard them passing by when we were inside the house. We loved the back tv / game room with a multitude of windows. Sleeping with the windows open at night was a welcome change - we are from Texas and left behind triple-digit temps for a few days. The only thing that I would suggest is to put a sofa / sleeper in the tv / game room. I would have loved to had slept in that room and waken to the sun coming over the mountains and to have had all those windows open at night for a nice cross-breeze. Thank you for providing such a beautiful house for our vacation.

Great Option for Car Groups

Our group of 8 car enthusiasts stayed at Shady Valley to enjoy the mountain roads for a few days. The proximity to US-421 "The Snake" is unbeatable, and the house has a large, flat parking pad perfect for sports cars or motorcycles. We parked our 7 cars with plenty of room to spare. The driveway and parking pad can easily accommodate at least 10 cars. The home sits on a couple acres and the area is very quiet and secluded (and DARK at night). The kitchen is well-equipped and the labels on all the cabinets make it incredibly easy to find everything you need. The bathroom on the west end of the house has a sliding barn door which leaves a gap on one end or the other. This can be an issue if you have privacy concerns. The home has central heat but only a few window A/C units. We stayed in the spring, so the temperature was fine, but summer may be a different story. The parking area could use a flood light to help with visibility while parking at night. We first arrived at the home after midnight, and it was difficult to see to park. None of these minor issues were deal-breakers for our group, and we will likely stay here again next time we are in the area.
