This VRBO requires insurance even though we didn’t want it then filed a claim stating something was damaged when it was not! Be careful here! We damaged nothing! Details for rental is not on VRBO app so you have to find an email that goes to spam. AC is not accurate. It’s fans & poorly located AC units.

Great Place in Kona

Quiet, nicely updated property just a short walk from downtown Kona. While the property does not have a view, it gets ocean breezes and the lanai is extremely private as no other units face it. The unit was clean, had comfortable mattresses, and came equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. Parking and access were easy. Host was very easy and quick to communicate with. We highly recommend this place if you want to stay in walking distance of Kona town.

Beautiful property BUT….

Property owner did not send checkin details prior to checkin - no history in VRBO chat and no private email - I checked spam and everything. So my family and I sat for almost an hour in a parking lot wondering if we had a place to stay while we waited on hold with VRBO’s stranded guest hotline to unsuccessfully reach the property owner - who apparently lives in Europe. Very stressful but we did get the checkin info about an hour after checkin. The other issue we had was with the toilet in the master bath, which got clogged. There is no plunger on the property so we reported the issue to the owner who initially suggested they would deal with it when we left the next day. When I insisted that they fix they said they would but never did - apparently they could not get cleaning staff over to address it because they were busy on another side of the island. So we spent the rest of our stay using the second bath toilet and holding our noses while we showered in the master bath. The property owner did give us a small discount and a late checkout upon our insistence. I will say the property is ideally located and very well appointed. But the owner should get a local property management company to assist with issues since they are so remote. And improve the plumbing or invest In a plunger.

Such a Wonderful Stay

We absolutely loved staying here! The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything yet in a quiet spot. It was equipped with everything we needed and beautifully decorated. Can’t say enough about this place. A real gem. We really loved the large private lanai. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for helping make our family vacation so wonderful.

BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS!

A part of me wants to keep this little gem all to ourselves! We were hesitant to book because there were no reviews on this IG worthy show stopper new listing, but thankfully the pictures did not disappoint and were even better in person! The location can not be beat! So close to everything… beaches, downtown Kona that is filled with wonderful restaurants and shops that you really wouldn’t need a car! Tucked back off the main road just enough that you don’t hear any of the noise and wake to a glorious morning filled with lush landscape and birds singing. Just dreamy! The place is incredibly well stocked and is SO family friendly! Wish my kids were still young enough to have enjoyed the adorable bunk beds and all the kid/parent friendly touches and supplies (again they have made everything so easy… highchair, toys, pack n’ play, beach gear… everything is there for your use)! We didn’t get the chance to use the pool… too many beaches to explore, but it was so clean and quiet and would be the perfect place for children to enjoy! I really can’t say enough good things about the place or the HOSTS who were so attentive to our needs, gracious with their welcome gifts and ALWAYS available if we needed anything, which we never did because the place was truly so very perfect! When we return to the Big Island, we will be booking this place again! If it’s available book it… you won’t be disappointed!

Sohana ('Ohana' means "Family" in Hawaiian) - that's us: Saskia, Leilani, Leeven and Stefan. A young family that loves to travel and lives and loves their own lifestyle.

On our travels around the world, we prefer to stay in vacation rentals. We enjoy this freedom, space and flexibility. And despite the fact that we have been traveling with children for 4 years now, we make sure to stay in stylishly furnished accommodations which are also kids friendly in which we can fully enjoy our time.

This is what inspired us when furnishing our apartments. Sustainable components paired with stylish elements. Interior that please the eye and the mind.

Saskia is an absolute interior design enthusiast and loves the small details to offer guests a great experience.
Stefan loves execute and organize that our guests have the most pleasant stay.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

When we bought this property, we saw the huge potential... 1200 SQFT, 2 bedrooms, huge private lanai, super central in Kona, with loads of amenities.
After a full renovation from June to September, we have shape the juwel. Two stylish, modern bathrooms with walk-in showers where everyone loves to get up in the morning and step into the shower. A huge open concept living and kitchen area with Side-by-Side fridge that has a beverage center to stay hydrated during the day and ice cubes maker to cool down after a beach day.
Ocean breezes on the Lanai, either while sitting at the Koa dining table, reading a book in the egg chair or having a sundowner in the lounge area.
A dip in the pool while having a BBQ - gas grill are located next to the pool and can be used during your stay.
