Die Holston River House ist ein zweistöckiges Haus mit einem Master-Suite im Erdgeschoss und zwei große Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss. Mit drei geräumige Schlafzimmer in allem, drei Badezimmer, einen offenen Grundriss, Hauswirtschaftsraum, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, einen hellen und luftigen Wintergarten, zwei Seitendecks, Dachfenster, und zahlreiche weitere komfortable Annehmlichkeiten, wird die Eigenschaft wie zu Hause fühlen. Datenschutz und unvergessliche Aussicht ist es, was dieses Haus von den anderen.

Starten Sie mit einer Tasse Kaffee auf der schönen Sonnenterasse mit Blick auf die Süd Holston River. Wenn Sie Fisch wollen, sind, fahren Sie mit Ihrem Watvögel auf und geben Sie den Fluss irgendwo auf unserem privaten halbe Meile Ufer an einem Abschnitt der für die Herstellung von großen Forellen bekannten Fluss. Schnappen Sie sich einen schnellen Imbiss zum Mittagessen in das Haus oder von einem der vielen lokalen Restaurants zu essen, und zurück in den Fluss in Minuten. Nach einem herrlichen Tag entspannen Sie rund um ein Feuer unten am Wasser mit Freunden und Familie, in Erinnerungen an die Ereignisse des Tages.

Wenn der Fluss ist nicht Ihr Ding, schönen South Holston See, mit seinen Meilen von unbebauten Küstenlinie, ist nur ein paar kurze Meilen flussaufwärts. Boote und Ausrüstung sind für Miete in den vielen Jachthäfen zur Verfügung. Boone Lake ist auch nur eine Meile oder so Downstream und bietet eine öffentliche Bootsrampe und Erholungsgebiete. This was the best house to stay at. We came to visit my college son. The house, deer, river, birds, wild turkey....it was all amazing. We didn't catch any fish but just walking down by the river was peaceful and made up for no fish! Plenty of pots, pans, dishes for you to cook. Thank you for sharing your home with us!! You truly have a special place!

Most relaxing vacation ever.

The property was perfect. It was serene with tons of wildlife to watch. The river was scenic and had great places to sit and watch it. This was my favorite vacation spot ever. If you are looking for a place close to the action but far enough away so that you can completely relax then this is the place.

Great Spot!

Wader driers and fly rod holders in the garage... a big screen TV... solid A/C, good water pressure and enough bathrooms for way more than the two of us! We had a great stay, and also an amazing day floating the South Holston. Highly recommend!

Our stay at the Holston River House was everything we could have wished for and more. So much so, we stayed on another two days (must admit, I was glad no one else was coming so we could do so - thanks Jim!). We can't say enough good about our vacation in Bluff City, but we can guarantee - we'll be back!

Great Place!

A group of us went up to fish the South Holston and we stayed here...what a great house! We walked right out the back door to a beautiful yard overlooking the river. We caught quite a few fish off the banks on the property. The house is great, sleeps plenty and kept up wonderfully. We will definately come back again for our next adventure! Thanks

Bristol Guys Weekend

Great place to stay, 4 beds (3 rooms,1loft) 3 baths. There was plenty of room for us guys to sprawl out and chill after walking all day at the racetrack. I can personally vouch for the comfort of the couch in the living room for sleeping arrangements! Clean and ready to go! The hosts were great, answered all questions timely and allowed us in a hour or so early. Thank you for that! Would stay again today!

Fourth visit coming up!

We just love this place - and are so excited to be going back again for our fourth stay next week. We were there just two weeks ago for my birthday .. and missed it so much we are going back for another week. It is so peaceful, and yet easy to get to places, shops etc. The house is kept spotlessly clean and is equipped with all amenities. The view of the river from the sunroom is just wonderful. And did I mention the Bald Eagle???? Plus the bluebirds, cranes, herons, ducks, woodpeckers .... We just can't say enough to recommend a stay here.

Wow!

This house was unreal. We did not have the best weather or water conditions for fishing but.. the house was more than I could have hoped for. Even with the fickle weather in March, we had a great relaxing vacation. All you need to bring is a few clothes and food. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need! I have stood in several homes that cost twice as much and are not nearly as nice.

50th Anniversary Celebration

We had an amazing time! It was the perfect place for us as a family to get away , relax and reconnect. James greeted my parents and made them immediately feel at home. There is plenty of options to explore for day trips or you can just relax and enjoy the river…bring your fishing rod. Lots of birds and wildlife to see. The home was immaculate, perfectly appointed, and comfortable. One of our favorite times was dinner on the long table on the porch overlooking the river…and coffee in the morning on the porch…and playing music on the porch. Can’t say enough good things about our stay. If we are back in the area would stay here again in a heart beat. Highly recommend! Many thanks and much gratitude to James for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful!!

ok - I am in love with the stretch of water just downstream from this house. My friends and I planned a long weekend getaway so that we could search some other water on this beautiful tailwater, as we had previously concentrated our fishing efforts about 9 miles upstream. Over the 3 days of fishing, I personally landed well over 100 fish, with 3 of them over 20 inches and one of them 23 - 24 inches (Brown caught at dusk on a size 24 midge). Needless to say, we will be staying at this location a number of times in the future. The house - great! The hospitality - even better! You can not go wrong by staying at this wonderful vacation home!

The Ross family reunion

We just returned from a week at the Goodman's wonderful home. Actually, I think it's Shiney's home, If you go, please be sweet to Shiney (Black Lab, 11 yrs old and the official greeter and playmate). The home is AWESOME and the view even better. If you can't find it in the house, you don't need it. Jim Goodman is the ultimate host and as I said, Shiney is the most lovable dog who's place is on the black bed in the garage, should you choose to open the garage and let him hang out there. Mega kudos on the porperty. You won't be disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Holston River House. The home is lovely, well decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with lots of dishes, cookware, etc. All you need to bring is food and beverages of choice. The premises are well groomed and maintained. We could not have been more comfortable in these relaxing conditions. Lots of bird activity on the water and at the bird feeder...a pair of bald eagles were icing on the cake. Be sure to bring binoculars and a bird ID book. Lots to see from the sun-room (our favorite spot). Lots of photo ops, too. We were disappointed in the fishing...due to weather conditions and conditions on the river, but loved just being there. Our host, Jim, could not have been more gracious. Looking forward to another visit.

A wonderful place to relax

This property deserves the highest rating possible. All the creature comforts are here. The home is immaculate. Beds are comfortable (I slept better here than at home). Kitchen fully stocked. The owners, Jim and Connie, and their lab, Shiney, are very cordial hosts. The location is a nature-lover's delight. The house overlooks the South Holston River. Mallards, wood ducks, Canada geese and kingfishers patrol the river. A variety of upland birds frequent the woods and open fields. A hawk was heard in the distance. A fisherman reported seeing an eagle a few weeks earlier. If trout fishing hadn't kept me so occupied, I would have spent more time looking for birds. Since there were plenty of fish on the property, I did most of my fishing right here. However, if more diversity is desired, other places to access the river are readily available. The large porch, overlooking the river, was a relaxing spot to sit back and enjoy a drink in the evening. In summary, I'm eagerly anticipating my return visit.

Girls Getaway

Well this may be the best place for fly fishing, but the girls will love it too. We had such a good time staying here. We came to watch my son play ball for college and when we were at the cabin, we felt right at home. As a matter of fact we all said we could live there easily. Look out Jim we may be trying to buy you out for a retirement pad. Ha! Ha! We all said we'd love to come back and probably will really soon. It was not a fisherman's cabin by far, so don't let that scare you off. We were even saying we'd have to learn how to Fly Fish. I guess Jim knew we didn't know how to when I told him I wouldn't be able to get the girls to put a worm on the hook. I now have been informed that you don't put a worm on the hook to fly fish. :> Silly me. Thank you Jim for not laughing at me when I said that. Hope to see you soon! Stay was good, but with a few annoyances

The house and grounds were beautiful, with expansive views of the river and its surrounding fields, and we enjoyed our stay. But there were a few things that could have made our stay even better. The owner was always responsive to our queries, but not proactive. For instance, we had to message him to get the keypad numbers to enter the house o the day we checked in. The house was lacking in toilet paper. After we used up the single roll in each bathroom, we couldn't find where spare rolls were kept, despite looking in all the likely places. Water pressure throughout the house was poor, even in the kitchen sink. While adequate in the master bathroom, the upstairs shower was little more than a trickle. The master bedroom and master bath were beautiful and spacious, but the bed in the master was uncomfortable -- too hard. I even contemplated moving to one of the sofas. My back still hurts two days later. The TV was a mystery; although we got it to work, we couldn't figure out how to remove the close captioning from the screen. Some instructions on using the two remotes would have helped. Although we wound up not fishing the river below the house, it would have been helpful for a path to have been mowed through the tall grass.

Amazing Vacation

I recently stayed in this property (May '10) and all I have to say is "Wow!" This property is truly spectacular. Nestled over a hill, the house is totally secluded and literally opens up to the river. The house has a modern kitchen, open dining and living room, two bathrooms downstairs (with fantastic water pressure!), and two nice sized bedrooms upstairs (with another large bathroom). There were six of us and we had more than enough room to spread out. My favorite part of the house (besides the views) was easily the sun porch overlooking the river. During the morning, it is flooded with sunlight. My wife and I spent one morning simply sitting and enjoying ourselves. You will need a car to get around, but after you go to the grocery store (two are very close), you won't have any reason to leave again. On top of the house, the fishing was top rate! When the owner says there is a half-mile of shoreline, he is not exaggerating in the slightest. We could have easily spent a week just fishing the river in front of this property. I can not stress enough how convenient it is to not have to worry about parking and leaving a car alongside the road. We just slid out of bed and walked right down to the river! Not only that, but we had tremendous luck during our three day stay with no complaints about how many fish we caught. Jim, the owner, is great and very warm. The house was clean and charming, the fishing was great, and the stay was relaxing. The women were happy and the fishermen were too! Best of both worlds. We will be back, and it won't be long, hopefully. I am a firm believer in reading customer reviews and I cannot recommend this house enough. It was fantastic!
