Tiny home cabin in the forest- Great design, beautiful property, close to beach

Are you curious about what it’s like living in a tiny home? Find out in this beautifully designed comfortable & spacious feeling cabin. Perfectly placed in a serene forest surrounded by trees, guests love relaxing on the covered porch with outdoor dining in stunning nature, exploring 2 acres with hammocks, fire pit and magical garden lights. Sleep deeply in this secluded getaway with everything you need! Penrose Point State Park is just down the road with beach access and trails. Dog friendly!
Drive up the circular driveway, past cedar trees where you are greeted by an inviting covered porch entrance that instantly provides a genuine welcome. As you step inside, the vaulted wood-clad ceilings and large windows create a bright atmosphere filled with natural light. You'll feel good in the spacious uncluttered design with decor that pleases the eye & never detracts from the forested window views. The dimmable lighting allows you to set the perfect mood for relaxation and perhaps some romance. :)

Picture yourself unwinding in the main floor queen bedroom with multiple windows for nice views with turned down low bedside lighting. The bedside nightstands with USB ports ensure your devices are right where you need them and conveniently charged. A smart 32” TV adds another enjoyable element. Just when you thought it couldn’t be better, you’ll sleep in cozy comfort on a natural latex mattress with organic cotton sheets. You'll have your own thermostat, ceiling fan, extra blankets & pillows to customize your comfort.

Up the stairs in the loft, you'll rest in the second queen bed while enjoying a bird's-eye view of the beautiful outdoors through three windows. One wall contains wallpaper with woodland mushrooms a perfect compliment to remind you of the surrounding trees. A glass topped table with swivel chairs is the perfect spot to work on your laptop, gaze down over the rail to the lower level or simply take in the beautiful outdoor surroundings. All you will see is trees!

In the fully equipped kitchen, you'll let your culinary creativity flow using the gas stove with spacious countertops that offer plenty of room to prepare delicious meals. A counter depth French door fridge has ample space & ice to hold your fresh food & drink. Wake up to the birds (maybe a deer!) and easily make morning beverages your way using a drip machine, mini Keurig, French press, electric kettle or AeroPress. With all the essentials at your fingertips, guests love cooking here.

As you relax in the living room, sinking into the plump blue leather loveseat, you'll appreciate the ottomans that provide extra seating and a place to rest your feet. The large windows keep your eyes on the interesting trees...look for the atmospheric moss covered maples and large cedars. The Smart 32” TV invites you to unwind after a day of nature hikes or beach combing with your favorite streamed shows or movies.

The full-sized bathroom welcomes you with its bright vanity lighting, good-sized counter space and quality cotton towels. You will feel truly rejuvenated with a steamy shower (large enough for two), handheld sprayer & seat while using premium natural hair & body care. The Jack & Jill bathroom design (located between the primary bedroom and kitchen) offers additional accessibility features like safety surround bars, ensuring that everyone can feel at ease during their stay. Look for the QR code to lead you to our social media page.

Step outside onto the covered porch (a guest favorite!) filled with comfortable seating. Protected from the elements, you'll spend much of your time here. The attached sun deck provides you a dining space for four, umbrella and a gas grill for your al fresco meals. You will love eating outdoors! Deepen your experience by wandering the property and all the glorious trees. Lounge in the hammock, sway on the swing for two, or gather around the fire pit for cozy evenings under the stars. You'll see why we call it the Magic Lantern with the glow of the garden and house lights!

~Certified Wildlife Habitat. Keep your eyes & ears open for common sightings of: Deer, Otter, Raccoon, Bats, Chipmunks, Mice, Moles, Hawks, Eagles, birds of all sorts, butterflies, ants, bees and stink bugs. The area is home to bear, cougar, bobcats and coyotes.

IDEAS FOR AN ITINERARY:
2 days= the tiny home and surrounding property can be all you need to enjoy your time. Depends on if you primarily came to relax and enjoy the company of whom you are traveling with or if you are looking for regional activities and sights. Slip in a visit to Penrose State Park just down the road via car or a casual walk. There is beach access and trails.

3 days= All of the above, but depending on your relaxation requirements you can further explore the Key Peninsula. I like to look for water access (lakes and boat ramps) or parks. Joemma State Park is the other good state park out here. There is a lot of history on Key Peninsula, I like looking at the interesting barns and buildings out here. Or if doing some driving isn't an issue, spend time in Gig Harbor (30 minute drive). Walking the waterfront shops and restaurants. Also an area for many retailers. Or head for Belfair State Park and/or Hoodsport (summer is best for this little town). Or start to think about day trips- 2 hours in any direction gives you access to the best of the PNW.

4 days and longer- Viewing the tiny home as a base camp to the Olympic National Park & Forest. You could do these day trips ideally with as little as a 3 day stay. Take a scenic drive along Hood Canal 1.5 hours away to Lake Cushman (home of Staircase, gorgeous viewpoints and mossy trees). Or Mt.Walker lookout at 2.5 hours where you can see Seattle in the distance and so much more on a clear day. And everywhere in between there are rivers, salt water, trails and water falls. And/or add another National Park day trip and visit Mt. Rainier. A two hour drive gets you up & personal with the big mountain, the trails and glorious nature found there.

One week and more= Do more of the above. If you have specialized interest we can make further recommendations, like mountain biking trails, local fishing, hiking, off-road driving or just beautiful locations. Bring your kayak! There are some amazing waterways around here. We love this area! We've got room to park your boat and other *toys* here.

Short family getaway
We stayed while in town for my step-son's wedding. While we didn't spend a ton of time in the house, the time we were there was amazing. The location was great, it was easy to find and was super cute! There were so many thoughtful touches the owner had added that made the stay perfect! We are already looking at dates to come back

We stayed for a couple days and enjoyed the tiny house in the woods. Comfortable and quiet. Also, ADA accessable, which was a must for us because my daughter is currently on crutches. Well stocked kitchen, hot water, comfortable beds. Very clean.

Pronouns: She/her/Hers Welcome everyone! We hope to see you soon. I grew up in Spokane and have been in Kitsap county for nearly 30 years. We recently sold our sailboat (25 years of sailing the Salish Sea) and fulfilled another dream of traveling and camping in our Pleasure Way Sprinter Van. Our own travel experiences (both near and far) has given us a passion for providing great hospitality. Our tiny home, the Magic Lantern is our expression. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

The Magic Lantern is a piece of land you never want to leave. So comfortable, so open feeling and a really well made tiny home on a small knoll. It comes alive at night with the glow of the lighting and all the outdoor decorative lights. Everyone loves it. The property is amazing and filled with very large cedars and Douglas firs. The trees are fantastic and home to deer that we often see. 2 acres of private property, includes a RV site at the bottom of the hill.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

Our guests describe their visit with words like- peaceful, private, beautiful, soothing and relaxing. Everyone mentions the very large cedars. Most people see deer, numerous birds, otters, bats. Remember we are wooded and bears, cougars and bobcats also call this area home. Conveniently located by Penrose State Park for hiking and beach access (clamming when in season!). Bay Lake has natural and stocked fish. Trails in many areas and several places for your kayak launch. Only an hour from Hood Canal and the start of all the Olympics have to offer in the area. *DISCLOSURE* We have a a video doorbell. All motion sensor features are turned off during occupancy and no video is being recorded. It would only be used in situations of emergency; for your safety or for the safety of the house. We use noise monitoring technology. While it does not record specific voices, it measures decibels and other signs that may indicate a party or larger group of people beyond what was disclosed at reservation time.
